To be a veggie is
quite absurd, a pretty
little oddity of life
Oh carrots and cabbage, it’s a dream
But If you’ve ever wondered
what it takes to be a veggie, for goodness’
sake, just follow these tip-tap steps
to live as they say; a ve-ge-table-s life
No need for arms or legs, you see
Or stifles of worry, sadness and grief
For they darken the colour of your red
Tomato cheeks
Green umbrella, you should stretch out to the sky instead
To catch the sunlight as you stand tall
And free
Let the raindrops kiss your leaves
Twirl and spin, let the drops fall down
No shoes or fancy jackets around for snails,
Those teeny-tiny fashion thieves
That stroll above your wiggling roots
In the coldness of a brown coat
Though, beware of those pesky bugs and
their devious shenanigans
Don’t let them define your purpose
and your in-dom-it-able
-ness. Show no fear and
shout: “I’m a veggie, hear me, and I’m
vegging all about!”
There you have it, your veggie degree
for thinking about those oddities too
So if you’re feeling a bit pe-
Cu-lair, think of all, lettuce and greens
And soon enough, a veggie you’ll be!

Hey friend, I am back to leave another review for one of your fantastic poems! One thing I love about your poetry is that you always make it so unique and beautiful. I noticed that this was your first poem for NaPo, plus the vegetable theme is amazing. Long live Young Vegetable Society!! Let's jump right into the review:
The first thing I want to comment on is the relaxed, feel that this poem has. You do such a good job being silly, but also having the serious tone to it, like we're reading an instruction manual almost.
I love the alliteration that you use throughout the piece. I also like how you uniquely broke up the words, as if they aren't being pronounced or said properly almost. I found it quite funny to read, actually, but it also showcases your amazing poetry, reading abilities. I found it cool how you broke up the lines too. For example, some these lines just stop halfway through and continue on the next one. I thought it was super cool that way. I noticed that you did do a bit of rhyming, too, especially in the last stanza, it seems like we rhyme a bit one every second line. I don't have a lot of critiques, because I can tell that this was a very relaxed and fun poem to write. My only recommendation would be to have more sensory details or things that we see as well instead of just many instructions. Overall, though this was fantastic! Keep on writing, and I look forward to reading more.
Your friend,
Ellie
thanks for the review, Ellie!
This poem is like a funny little story about veggies! It talks about how silly it would be to be a vegetable and gives tips on how to live like one. It's kind of like a make-believe adventure into the world of carrots and cabbage!
The poem says veggies don't need arms or legs because they can just stretch out to the sky and soak up the sunshine. And when it rains, they can let the raindrops kiss their leaves and dance around. But watch out for bugs—they can be pesky!
It's a fun poem that makes you think about veggies in a whole new way. So, if you ever feel a little bit different, just think about lettuce and greens, and you'll feel like a veggie too!
Overall a solid fun and weird poem

*takes a quick bite out of chicken sandwich* yes I can taste freedom approaching me i'm ready for this commitment *hides sandwich again*

Overall: this gave me a few good laughs and I'm happy to have read it, but getting serious for a moment, the line before the last line I think it would be better if the and before lettuce was a the instead, I feel like the follow was jumpy otherwise.
anyway that's it from me
