Rain against the windows.
Racing raindrops as they fell in the wind.
It whistled and sang outside.
Tuesday.
Yesterday, didn't matter.
My voice a bleak whisper.
As though frightened you'd hear.
Your eyes saying more then your voice could.
The silence didn't stretch, just lingered.
As though the roof of the car might cave in from it.
You didn't say anything.
Though I don't think you wanted too.
The door opened, but I didn't move.
Maybe I wasn't ready too.
Perhaps I liked how the rain kissed my hand.
A cold comfort.
Tuesday.
Confrontational confessions.
Heavy, whispers.
Another day.
It is always, another day.
Just another Tuesday.

Hey Random lady! This is Alex, reviewing on the behalf of Team Cowfolk today. Happy August Review Day, 2025! Let's dive right in.
The unusually simple title caught my attention instantly. It doesn't reveal what the poem is about, keeping the mystique alive for a few more moments. Only after the reader has finished reading, he understands the pulling gravity of this piece. 'Tuesday' is a very good disguise to the weight of this day, yet the protagonist insists it to be like just another Tuesday even when the reader can tell it's most definitely not. It's almost like she's in denial about the significance of this moment.
The first stanza had such vivid imagery, I'm in complete awe. Your ability to paint scenes with your descriptive words is impeccable.
The second stanza is particularly vague, I can't clearly tell what's going on. But there's clearly been some conflict as there is some tension in the silent air.
This line is so deep and striking! I feel like the lady's partner has been unfaithful to her and his eyes are reflecting the guilt his tounge is too proud to admit. But this purely my personal take on this. Maybe it could also be that he's asked for a breakup, saying he loves someone else, which would go along a similiar lane.
I found these lines particularly beautiful. The silence lingers in the air light as a feather yet bears the weight to reform car roofs- so very poetic indeed.
I think this part supports my interpretation. The protagonist is not yet ready to walk away from this relationship. In her heart, she still wants to make it work. But she knows better than that. It's too late now, saving her love is a lost cause now.
I think these lines lay a contrast to the warm kisses her lover used to shower on her before. Now, that very person has betrayed her and made her turn to rain for comfort. Quite heartbreaking
I like how you depict quiet confrontations and whispers being heavy. They almost sound like a melodic oxymoron!
I can tell the protagonist doesn't herself believe in what she's saying here. It's a Tuesday that has broken, but she's still in shock to admit it.
All in all, a shattering poem about a Tuesday when a silent confrontations destroyed a relationship. The silence stands as a wall between the protagonist and her lover, signifying nothing following this Tuesday shall ever be the same again. The rain was an amazing background to subtly illustrate the gloominess of the situation at hand. Fabulous work, truly. It was a pleasure reviewing this, hope to read more from you soon.
Regards
Alex
Hello, RandomLady33! I’m here to review this lovely poem of yours!
Now, I’m not great with understanding poetry, but I’ll give you my interpretation. Forgive me if it’s not what you had in mind, but part of the beauty of poetry is that it can be interpreted multiple ways! I think this is about a couple standing outside a car in a storm, and I think the speaker is confessing to something that could hurt the relationship, like maybe they cheated?
For constructive criticism, your writing is beautiful, but remember the difference between “to” and “too”. “Too” is what you used. It means “as well.” “To” should have been used instead; it’s the preposition.
What I love especially about this poem is how it paints a depressing picture, but makes the setting even more bleak by stressing that this is just a normal Tuesday. I also like how you build a lighthearted tone in the first stanza. It makes the rest of the poem that much more impactful because of the contrast.
Overall, I love this poem! Keep writing!
