A stolid blue pencil is running quickly.
The angry green pen pursues
the pencil through the tall trees
as the polka dot cabbage cheers them on.
The fork and the spoon are chasing the spork
through a field of flowering fire hoses.
A marbled magenta mongoose meets
a muskrat munching on millions of maroon mussels.
Alas, the silent, slavering songbirds steer ships astray,
luring them into doom and despair.
The cataleptic kangaroo couldn't be bothered
to begin or to end again, and again, and again.
Through it all the walrus sat,
pondering what could not be understood.

Wow!!! LOVE THIS.
It's crazy, that's what I like about it; because every single line you get this burst of alliteration and then wonderfully strange images popping into your head. It's absuloute madness I tell you, madness. I agree with the above comments, it is a little like a nursery rhyme. Just the kind of thing I can imagine in a big colourfull picture book with very detailed imaginative illustrations.
The last line finishes it off perfectly, because you almost poke fun at yourself for writing nonsense. You turn it into something clever and witty. Bravo my friend.

At first glance, I had the reaction that you were probably looking for; "WTF is he talking about?" Like the previous commentator, the last line is what cleared the whole thing up. Unlike the previous commentator, I will not pick this poem apart. This is because I believe that there is nothing to pick apart. This poem is a shot at poets. It's a test to see how many people can make sense out of nonsense. I personally LOVE poems aimed at other poets; especially satirical ones.
All in all, this poem reminds me of one of those "how to keep and idiot busy" shirts. Great job. I will be viewing more of your work.
Alright, at first I was like, "What the friiick!" But the last lines make the poem. It reminds me of a nursery rhyme! Probably because of the fork and spoon (the cow jumped over the moon?) and the animals that come into play. Fantastic job. This poem probably made my day.
