The Blackened Road

Walking on the grim road,
Not knowing where it leads,
The obsidian crunches under my feet,
Thoughts of my evil past rushes at me,
The chilling air brushes against my face,
My legs become stiff,
The Darkness closes in,
Knowing my unknown fate,
I prepare to face it with dignity,
As a figure in a dark clock comes closer,
It faces me with its demonic eyes,
It blade pierces my skin,
And I fall over,
Letting the Darkness conquer,
My body becomes cold,
And cold it shall stay

Greetings and salutations! What a literally chilling piece describing the process of death! The black obsidian, the sorrowful past, the chilling air! The soul beginning it's descent into oblivion!
Confronted by the Darkness, forced to accept the fatality!

The Darkness conquers, as it always does. It's not a speculation. By conquering us, however, and leaving our corpses cold and inanimate, the Darkness grants us freedom.

Cheers!

It's unsettling to know how little separates each of us from another life altogether.
