Abduction
They came fearful,
Running behind their frenzied shouts,
Declaring danger in the trees,
Warning of the child-thieves.

They came merciless,
Pounding down the jungle trails,
Releasing bullets into flesh,
Tearing kin from kin.

They came quietly,
Trudging to their leafy cage,
Dabbing seeping bloody wounds,
Crying into the night.

This poem details an event of an LRA abduction.

Wow!! Like wow..that was deep, meaningful and awesome..I can't find any mistakes. This is almost perfect..I'm not saying perfect cause perfect is boring and this wasn't. You are really good at this. I really liked that you have a meaning and reason to write it which makes it of more worth. It showcases the issue and the problem which you try to showcase..Loved it..

Keep up the good work! :)

Very powerful poem you have here. I've always found the LRA and the Invisible Children to be one of the more fascinating stories of our time. You did well to capture the intensity of their campaign in just three, four lined stanzas. "They came fearful, They came merciless, They came quietly." It is truly a wonderful piece!.

Hi!
This is pretty interesting. Actually very interesting. And I think it was beautifully written for the most part. I actually don't know what LRA abduction is other than from your poem, but it sounds absolutely horrifying.

The first stanza was good, but, I am a little confused as to why it is they came fearful? Are you talking from the point of view of the children or the child-thieves. Because the last line was "Warning of the child-thieves" which makes it seem as if it is about the children, but if it is about the children, why is the next stanza "They came merciless". I am quite confused about that. Also, about the "They came quietly" some of the lines don't really associate with "quiet". But that is perhaps just my opinon, I am honestly just a bit confused.

With that said, it was really written with intensity, which still stirred me up and made me think.

don't stop dreaming. :)

Hi, The first stanza is about the villagers, who are warning the others of the child-thieves who are coming. The second stanza is about the child-thieves themselves. The last stanza is about the abducted children who are being taken away. Thanks for your comment :)

Wow.... :0 This is perfect poetry, honest. o.o

Really? Thanks a lot! I fell really strongly about the issue in Africa and wanted to write something about. It means a lot that you like it.
