Black paints the most colorful sunsets,
Speaks the loudest words,
Black weaves the most vivid tales,
Displays deep emotion,
Black surges from page to mind,
Gives life to imagination,
Black is an escape rope from reality,
Ink tells the whole story

I absolutely adore this!
I've been waiting for something like this to show people that there is a point to writing. Writing brings out a deeper part of us, a part of us that shows a different side we might not even know ourselves. I loved every word and I wouldn't change a thing. Great Job! The metaphors are perfect and you show your idea without having to come out and say its about writing. Again Great Job
I like the way this speaks about human nature; how we all love tragedy, and the darker sides of us are usually the ones who reach the paper, not always; but like you wrote: black waves the most vivid tales, displays deep emotion.
Wine goes through piss.
Keep writing!
Well, first off, I like the simplicity of this poem. It's short and simple, yet still has so much meaning in it.
So, great job here! This poem has emotion, but I think you could do a better job conveying it through your poem than you have. I really enjoyed this, though!

I absolutely love the imagery here. It did take me a couple reads to get it (I had to connect "ink" to "black" before I understood the line about the sunsets), but once I did I was wowed. The great thing about this poem is its deceptive simplicity and effective use of paradox. "Black paints the most colorful sunsets" is the best example of a paradoxical statement used to great effect that I've ever read. More than that, it has staying power. It's a poem I'll remember, no matter how much poetry I read. So, overall, I'm very impressed.
The old fashioned writer in me thinks that this poem could benefit from some traditional meter (the Wikipedia article on iambic pentameter is a fantastic source to get started, though do forgive me for citing Wikipedia). If you're not really into that, I'd suggest working with the flow a little to make it even more ragged and gritty, in the manner of a lot of contemporary poetry. Also, I think the line "Displays deep emotion" is the weakest line in the piece (the others are incredible). You might think about reworking that line to include another attention-grabbing metaphor.
Great job! I really enjoyed reading the poem. It's going to stick in my head for a very long time.
Contrary to previous comments, I think the line about sunsets makes perfect sence...I dont understand the confusion on this. This is a beautiful poem. It flows nicely and the wording is lovely.
Only this I could suggest is to maybe add a bit more dramatic imagery.
I think this poem is really good. I like how there is a connection to black and ink, and it uses all different ways of black. I think the last line was really good and interesting too. I must say though, at one point you put,
And this doesn't make much sense. Sunsets are not black. I think maybe you could of put Black is a night stained with paint.
But apart from that, I find this poem wonderful!
Hello I am going to review your poem.
RED: corrections/opinions/errors
BLACK: normal
Black paints the most colorful sunsets, sorry to say but this doesn't quite make sense as sunsets are not black
Speaks the loudest words,
Black weaves the most vivid tales, weaves is a fabric
Displays deep emotion,
Black surges from page to mind,i thought this verse was quite good.
Gives life to imagination,
Black is an escape rope from reality,
Ink tells the whole story
The ending may I say was really good! 'Ink tells the whole story.' That was really clever! I would love to see more poems like this, keep it up!
Lovely connotations for the word "black". I think you have a good thing going here and your reference to writing and art flow beautifully. It's very easy to grasp but deep at the same time. Your short piece is profound.
