E - Everyone

What I Know

Never grow a wishbone where your backbone should be

When you're mentally drowning you can still find room to breathe

The first time someone shows you their true colors - believe them

When just floating isn't enough, you have got to swim

Question everything you read

Just don't fall blindly into things

No is a complete sentence

You don't know how much you liked a journey until the ending

And when everyone else is forgetting

There is always something you're remembering

Everyone is a human being

There are a lot of things we don't see

Even when we're looking

And when the earthquake is finally still

Something else comes in for the kill

That is what I know. My first poem.

For a first poem, this is genuinely fantastic!
I love the rhyme scheme in the first four lines, very good choice of words there. I also like how you change the form/structure of the poem after those first four lines. I think this represents how not everyone shows their true colours when you first meet them, and you shouldn't grow accustomed to people being like that as they will reveal their true colours in the end.
The ending was very good, really gave me something to think about!
Well done on a great poem, I hope you keep writing!

Thank you so much!

Hi there!
First off, Welcome to YWS! I hope you enjoy yourself here and have a lot of fun!
This poem is really good. I love the word use, the rhythm, and how relatable it is. You make some very, very good points here, and everything you say is true. The only critical thing I have to say is that on this line:

"You don't know how much you liked a journey until the ending" I would say "end." That is just a personal stylistic preference though.

Keep up the good work!

Thank you for the review.

Hi, well for it being your first poem it literally has a good meaning to it.Some places rhyming scheme doesn't fit but still it is awesome. My favourite lines are
" And when the earthquake is finally still
Something else comes to kill."
Keep up the good work.😊

It had a perfectly round door like a porthole, painted green, with a shiny yellow brass knob in the exact middle. The door opened on to a tube-shaped hall like a tunnel: a very comfortable tunnel without smoke, with panelled walls, and floors tiled and carpeted, provided with polished chairs, and lots and lots of pegs for hats and coats—the hobbit was fond of visitors. The tunnel wound on and on, going fairly but not quite straight into the side of the hill —The Hill, as all the people for many miles round called it—and many little round doors opened out of it, first on one side and then on another.
