Dear Diary

PreviousNext
Dear Diary,
I have a secret little secret I'm dying to tell.
But no matter how much I want to tell,
I'll keep it to myself.
For as long as I live,
I'll tell only the blank pages of my Dear Diary.

Shh! Dear Diary, don't tell a soul.
I couldn't bear for anyone else to know,
My secret little secret.
Hush, Dear Diary.
And don't make a sound,
Or my secret will come spilling out.

My dear, Dear Diary,
I trust you not to tell,
Or let anyone know my secret little secret.
Quiet, Dear Diary,
So no one else will hear
My secret little secret.

Hey kristabelle! It's a lovely poem. I can just imagine it being the over voice of some dark fantasy movie hahahaha. :) Well I'm not really sure what the meaning is but I interpreted as loneliness because you are talking to a diary about a secret. Which I sometimes feel so too. :) One thing that could be improved was that you could have given more ideas, rather than just revolve around the secret and asking the diary to not tell. Yup, that's about it. Good job!

Hi there. I am 567ajt. I am here for your review ;) Don't worry, I'm not too harsh. I notice this is your first piece, so welcome to YWS. I hope you are enjoying your time thus far.

Right from the bat, I can say that I love this poem. It is simple, but complex at the same time. Simple in the premise: diary, secretive, don't tell. But it is also complex in the way you have worded it. You don't treat this diary just as a diary, but as a friend. You use the diary as a metaphor for, if I'm not wrong here, friendship and secrets.

I love your ambigousy. We're not sure what the secret is, but it must be something bad if you wish for no one to tell. Or maybe it's harmless love. It makes the reader think about a lot of things and this is good. I try to make a lot of my own poems cryptic, but end up giving too much away.

This is a great poem. I loved it. I'm sorry if there's no actual critique, I just love it!

My one true aspiration in life is to make it into the quote gen.
