The stanzas are two people talking back and fourth, the protagonist and someone (not telling because spoilers hehe), I tried my best...
Also, there is a lot of flower language in the poem. If you enjoyed the poem, comment and give likes! This helps making your day and giving motivation for me to write and tell a future stories to this world.
~~~~~
What I hate the most is myself.
Really, I am and look terrible.
So don't look forward me,
You have other people looking.
~
Oh why, I believe you as a Muse,
All I see are the purple lilacs.
Although my hands may be big,
I made a pretty garland for you.
~
Why does someone like you,
Still love a human in the masses?
Why do you give up the stars,
Just to come and embrace me?
~
Why does the brightest star,
Still loathe, drowning in hatred?
Why does the beautiful star,
Feel like broken vessels leaking?
~
Why, you are what all everyone
Loves, giving red roses.
A pinnacle of grace and beauty,
The body of an Archangel.
~
Why do you shatter your mirrors,
Love, do you still fear yourself?
My Star, I will shed my own blood,
And rip my flesh if it makes you grin.
~
No, do not hurt yourself!
I believe I should rather be hurt,
Rather than your embraces,
Let me be trapped in this misery.
~
You are not an idiotic fool,
You simply are blindfold.
What is more important
Is not me, but your safety.
~
A coffin of purple hyacinths,
That's where I reside.
Praying, I cry for your health
Crying fungi tears.
~
I also reside in a coffin, love.
We cover ourselves with
Yellow mimosas, like two stars,
Shining brightly into one.
~
You have the heart of a gentleman
But mine is a heart of a lovesick fool
This self-hate will never end again,
With my body one day unable to take it.
~
Love, let us be two flowers,
Blooming brightly, I will share
My needed nutrients to you.
My answer is this response.
i love you
and i will sacrifice all just for you
so please don't hate yourself
you are more important
~
we're loving each in the end
aren't we?
let us not be parallel lines
but intersecting lines
my dear, precious muse who i adore
I really like this kind of poem. It is very unique and I haven't read anything quite like this. The dialogue between the two characters tells a story. Character A does not feel worthy of the love they are receiving from Character B. Character A seems to WANT love, but they are not sure how to accept it or they do not feel good enough. Character B seems more innocent than Character A. Character A clearly tears down on themselves and there is a possibility that they had a traumatic experience and that is the reason they feel this way. I firmly believe that all poems tell a story. Character B seems to love them and want to help them think better about themselves and always lets Character A know how much they love them.
Thank you for the review!!! I'm happy it was interpreted the way I interpreted to be
I haven’t read the manga so I’m a little confused, but I enjoyed the poem nonetheless.I sense that this is a love poem.Not the kind that is ethereal and bright, the kind that is mournful and beautiful.It seems like one person thinks they are unworthy of love and the other is trying to convince them that they aren’t.Lovely words you stitched together.I hope that you will have an amazing and fun day and night.
I guess it can be interpreted as that ^^
It's not 100% bright, but you did figure the existence of a self-loathing character and a comforting, self-sacrificial one, which I wanted to focus on. Thank you.
