The Time Lord's Lament- a Doctor Who poem

I'm the last.

I've accepted it. I understood, I promised myself I wouldn't let anything in again.
The Time War. It's over. I ended it.
Rightly so.
Such a disappointment. The Doctor. Always running away.

I regenerated. And I ran. No time to see how I look, no time to rest. I need to run. I need to escape. The skies on fire. The screaming.
I ended it.
I'm the last.

Then she came. All sass and wonder and it was all right to be the last. Because she was there.
Then she was gone.
She dropped out of the universe. Out of my life.
Left me alone.
I'm the last.

I accepted it. I knew it. I swore by it. No use lying.
But then how can he be here?
I'm not the last anymore.

Why won't he regenerate?
Why is he laughing?
He won.
I lost.
The Time War takes one more victim.
I am the last. I will always be the last.

Sometimes, in my dreams, I see it. Those burnt orange skies. Those fields of red grass. The Citadel of the Time Lords. The mountains that hit the horizon.

The last one who remembers.
The last one to see it falling. Burning.

And now I'm burning. And changing. And I don't want to go.
I'm the last, all that's left. If I go, then no one will be here to remember.

But I remember.
Still the last. Still alone.
But I remember.
And I'm crashing.

Thank you for the Ten feels, my friend. I appreciate it... really...

it's an awesome poem! It's really rather sad though. And, I guess, it could go for any Doctor, depending who's special to you.

Personally, I thought of Ten's last episode. With the Master and his Mother and that heart breaking saying which I'm not even going to repeat. At first I thought the girl dropping out of the universe was Rose, and I think it might be still.

The way you set it out is great, it shows the Doctor's jumbled about, not at all orderly feelings.

There's not really much else I can say, it's FANTASTIC!! ;)

NOW, because it is Pokemon Day. You can sing along if you wish, that's always nice...

Spoiler
I wanna be the very best
Like no one ever was
To catch them is my real test
To train them is my cause

I will travel across the land
Searching far and wide
Each Pokemon to understand
The power that's inside

Pokemon gotta catch them all its you and me
I know it's my destiny
Pokemon, oh, you're my best friend
In a world we must defend
Pokemon, a heart so true
Our courage will pull us through

You teach me and I'll teach you
Pokemon, gotta catch 'em all

Every challenge along the way
With courage I will face
I will battle every day
To claim my rightful place

Come with me, the time is right
There's no better team
Arm in arm we'll win the fight
It's always been our dream

Like Yuriiko, it was the choppiness of the piece that really pulled me into it. I like the way you structured it quite a bit. Moreover though, I really like how the voice of the narrator comes through strong. You've captured it well.

All in all, great piece. Don't have anything to add.

Hello there!

Here to review.

I think the choppiness you created here is what pulled me in to read this. I think it gives a plausible effect to your poem, in a good way obviously. Plus, your spellings are great. However, you keep on changing matters or topics in every stanza. I don't know maybe it's just me, but what really is the main focus of your poem? however, I want to salute you for the uniqueness and the good imageries you've set in here. Though this is a bit of a confusion but it is indeed enjoyable to read.

I think you've maintained the structure informal, which tells your readers that this is like a personal poem. Which is not a bad thing, so don't worry about it. All in all, this definitely has a potential. Hope I helped and PM me for questions.

Keep writing!

Peace out!

~yuri
