I Attempted Art

by Icon

I actually drew this a couple weeks ago, but I wanted to share it. As always, I'm super open to critique, and I'd love to hear what you all have to say! Character is Panty Anarchy from Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt.

Is this a review?

You completed art :3 I'm tempted to commission you but I have no idea what to ask for... scratch that, I know exactly what I want! But whenever you're comfortable I'd like to support you if I can! You have such a lovely style, the overlapping wings and her expression, you're killing it! Attempt more, you'll create such amazing things!

Well, I've never been commissioned before! But I'm down, I suppose. Feel free to PM me when you're feeling it. :)

This is very nice and well-drawn! I really like what you did with the lines, it's such a cool sort of wispy effect. I also found it cool how you showed the transparent wings overlapping the hair. The shapes are super solid and well drawn! :D As for critique, I'd like to comment on the movement. If you'll notice, the vertical streaks for glow on the halo and wings (as well as the smaller ones on the tank top) produce more of an upward visual movement, the hoop earrings produce more of a sideways movement, and the hair isn't moving at all! With this piece specifically, I think making the hair and earrings appearing to move upward with the streaks would really add to the ethereal effect :) Also, anatomically, the collarbone is lower - more in line with the shoulders than the base of the neck. ;)

Thanks for the review! I'll be sure to keep those things in mind :smt003

Oh my, goodness is that my baby Panty-

Sorry I love her so much, and the way you drew her in your style is so awesome. I recognized her like immediately. So that's fantastic.

I like the "sketchiness" of this, like with the glitchiness and all. That's honestly really cool. Also please teach me how to blend and stuff. I started learning how to do digital art, since I received a drawing tablet for Christmas but it's hard to get used to LOL. Anyways, I want to see more of your art now I'm very impressed! :')

I'd love to give you some tips, but a lot of it is hard to describe without a visual aid lol. I'm really glad you like my art! :smt003 Yeah, digital art can be kinda hard to get used to, but I'm sure you'll nail it!

JellyRose says...

Haha yeah, my best friend once told me, just wing it you'll be fine LOL. But thank you anyways hahah! :') Keep up the great work!!

Hi, Icon!

AAAHHHHHH PANTY AND STOCKING! (I havent actually watched it but it's in my bucket list!)
Okay, I'm not a good artist but I just want to say I love the glistening of the edges of her skin paired with the halo and wings makes her look like an angel! And the smudges look like she's going through a power up!
And you nailed the shading! The blushes! What did you do? Overlay? Teach me sensei!

Seriously, I love it! Is this your usual art style or are you like experimenting? I wanna know!

Wishing you the best,
ShallowHouse

Icon says...

Why thank you, Shallow! And she looks like an angel because she is an angel XD I am experimenting a little with this one, my usual are isn't quite this aNiMe TM, but I really loved how this turned out

Well it certainly looks *mwuah mwuah Italian chef hand sign*! I love it too! You should make an art forum!

I have to say wow. This looks amazing. You're an amazing drawer. It's so realistic. It's better than anything I could produce, although I will mention that you seemed to struggle with the eyes. Yes, they are blue, but in real life, eyes have black pupils. But the shape is realistic, and the iris-shape is too. Again, I couldn't even produce something as good as this. And to end, I must ask, what are those neon cyan things behind her?

Icon says...

The eyes not having pupils was a bit of a stylistic choice. I was experimenting with my art style a little bit and I usually draw the pupil. As for the 'neon cyan things', this character is a fallen(ish) angel, and I just thought having wings and a halo would look cool :smt003

My spelling is wobbly. It's good spelling, but it wobbles, and the letters get in the wrong places.
