Dreaming

Society, expectations, failure...

Could it be that I am dreaming? Is it possible that one day I will wake up from this nightmare. Is this unbearable pain simply a figure of my imagination? My mind is playing tricks on me. I cannot see what is real and what is simply fake. I am running in circles, my inner self fighting, screaming, thrashing to be released. To be brought forth and put out of its misery. I can do nothing. So I sit waiting, yearning, longing for the beautiful day when I open my eyes and see happiness.

I feel the same way most days. Maybe it just comes with the territory of being of writer. We can only hope that this is all a dream we'll wake up from someday. Take care <3

I have to agree with xJupiter about the structure but it is a good example of poetry. Lots of readers could easily relate which makes it appealing to many types of poets. It is well written other than punctuation, which don't worry everyone has problems with punctuation at some point. I can't wait to see how you improve with your next post.

Wow I just simply love this poem Gerbeh!! I would have to agree with xJupiter about the format because it does make this seem like a short story when you have it in that formation. Other then that I would like to see more of your writing you certainly have a gift! Keep up the good work! :)

Hello Gerbeh! I can see what you are saying here. But, the format is confusing. Try putting each sentence as a stand alone sentence. Example,
"Could it be that I am dreaming,
Is it possible that one day I will wake up from this nightmare?
Is this unbearable pain simply a figure of my imagination?"

It is much easier to read this way. Other than that small nitpick, I appreciate this work. I know what it is to wish for happiness in anyway whether it be in death. You are fantastic, keep writing! :)

I.
Am.
Batman.

It seems that nobody has given this poem a chance! Well I'm here to save you, buddy.
First of all, your poem seriously needs to develop a shape. You can't have a poem that is a paragraph, otherwise everyone thinks it's just a piece of writing. Try making it shape, l suggest this:
Could it be that I am dreaming?
Is it possible that one day I will wake up from this nightmare.
Is this unbearable pain simply a figure of my imagination?
My mind is playing tricks on me.
I cannot see what is real and what is simply fake.
I am running in circles,
my inner self fighting,
screaming,
thrashing to be released.
To be brought forth and put out of its misery.
So I sit waiting,
yearning,
longing for the beautiful day when I open my eyes and see happiness.

Now isn't that much better? Anyway onto the nitpicks.
On the second sentence you used a period when a question mark is more appropriate. Also, you need to use more commas and less periods. Because in poetry, you are pausing for dramatic effect, not stopping.

Other than that, this poem was not bad! I enjoyed it very much. Great job, and keep writing.

May your travels through space and time be merry,

-xJ ❤︎

I always knew that deep down in every human heart, there is mercy and generosity. No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.
