You hide the sunshine
by dying it black.
You hide the blue skies
behind dark sunglasses
that transcend your world
into fits of gray madness.
-
You cringe at photographs
of yourself.
Afraid to remember a time
when your life was not
bathed in miles of poetic justice.
-
Your nose is crooked in the most
perfect way.
You sneer at it and wish
it was someone else’s problem.
-
You fly through your life
on borrowed wings.
Afraid that if you used your own
you would fall,
and never fly again.
-
You fixate on unimportant details,
savor sweet thoughts of darkness.
Let your mind linger on macabre thoughts.
Claw at the graveyards outside your window.
Long to walk among the stones.
Ache to be lucky enough
to sleep beside them.
-
Sweet wonder
dark wonder,
You keep your heart hidden.
You make suitors guess where it is.
You promise them glory
if they locate the key
then locate the lock.
-
I don’t know what draws
me into your violate tide
or what compels me
to stare at your slate blue eyes
that seem to know everything
while never asking anything.
You hate everything I love,
Including you

I can almost guarentee that this poem is not about you and that you are most likely a much better person than the poem is about.
Wow. Holy crap. Every time I read it, it hits me harder. This is absolutely amazing. In a sad way. This poem immediately reminded me of myself which drew me in and made it more and more powerful as I read on. I love the theme of an outsider looking in, loving someone who cannot love them self. I think it's something that's incredibly common in life and you portrayed it beautifully with this arrangement of words. Your use of bold adjectives creates raw imagery that helps to show wonder, sadness, and frustration behind the words. This is really beautiful. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent and please continue to do so.
Thank you very much. I am very glad that it touched you and that you enjoy it so much.
You drew me in at the first paragraph. Hell, with the first two lines! Not gonna lie, after reading it a few times, it reminds me of a Taylor Swift song, and that's not an insult: "You paint me a blue sky then go back and turn it to grey." It's talking about something different than your poem, what with Taylor's fixation on boys who turn against her, rather than what I'm seeing in your work: someone loving someone else who can't see their own beauty, but the connection is there for me.
This poem made me think of my sister and myself. I'm the one who cringes at pictures of herself, but my sister is the one who hates her maybe too big nose with a passion. The funny part is, I love her nose, and she is always taking pictures of me.
Your poem connects with me personally than any others I've read, so thank you.
I like the structure of the poem too. The stanzas get shorter, and then longer, feeling like a symphony.
I do wonder if you're writing this to yourself, or someone else?
The punctuation, or lack thereof, does throw me? But I'm guessing it's intentional?
This is good. Thank you, again
Wow thank you so much. The capitalization is murky, I%u2019ll admit. I never know the right way to write poems. I%u2019m so glad that it has connected with you and I%u2019m really glad that it means something. I did write it about someone else, and it is addressed to them, though I doubt I%u2019ll ever tell them about it. Thank you for your review, it was really touching.
Ah I love the poetry you guys make! I can see the feeling behind it. But I think you could use more vibrant words and better descriptions when you talk about looking in the mirror. Very true to real life. Keep on writing just continue to use more vibrant words. I think alot of people are going to agree to this so good job. May I ask what made you write this? I hope I didn't hurt you by my review.
Thank you! The inspiration comes from a person I know and the feelings I have towards them. I am confused as to what you mean about a mirror though. I don%u2019t mention one and I don%u2019t know what you%u2019re referring to. But thank you anyways.
