"Suck my balls.”
“That’s funny, I don’t remember you having any, unless you grew them a couple of seconds ago.”
“You have no idea what I have down there.”
“You just made an already uncomfortable conversation, unbearable.”
Blue looked at her twin brother with an undeniable amount of dislike. She loved her brother but only because she had to, no other reason. She stared at him through her blue curls and narrowed her gray witch eyes. Her brother, Steel, raised his pierced eyebrow and rolled his black eyes.
“This is why you have no followers on Screamers. You’re depressing.” Blue watched her brother go into his hoodie and pull out his stolen blackberry. “Status update: My sister is depressing; please help me by posting jokes. Lots of love Steel.” Blue shook her head in judgement of her brother. “You know, I got another 20 followers last night. I now have over 1 thousand followers. I am so cool. Did you know that? I am so amazingly cool that I am glowing like a preganant women.”
“You know saying your cool makes you uncool.”
“Well, if cool people didn’t think they were cool then no one would know if people were cool or not. Therefore no one would be cool. Anyway, my coolness is visible from a mile away, so basically, I’m just stating the obvious.”
“Shut up or I’ll cut off your head.” That shut him up. (A truth: the best way to kill an Immortal Warrior was to cut off her/his head). Steel knew she would have no problem cutting off his head. Blue zipped up her leather jacket and threw her hair up in a pony tail. (A truth: if a IWs hair was up, blood would pour). She checked to see whether her blade was in place, and feeling it there on her belt she felt safe. She felt almost complete.
Steels throaty laugh filled the air and Blue turned to shout at him.
“Will you be quiet?”
“Wait you haven’t heard this joke! Listen and I’ll shut up.”
“Fine.” Blue answered shortly.
“Knock Knock”
“Who’s there?”
“Doughnut”
“Doughnut who?”
“Doughnut worry it was a joke!” Blue wasn’t amused.
“Give me the phone.” She demanded reaching for it. Steel, still laughing put the phone into her hands.
“Come on, just admit it. It was funny.”
“No. It wasn’t. Now, do you want to live through the night? This is supposed to be the biggest attack yet.” Steel shook his head, her brother may be a literal doughnut but he was one of the best fighters the YIW had ever seen. (A Truth: Young Immortal Warriors were children of Immortal Warriors. They are 20 and under.).
“The UDF says that every time. Most likely it will be a rogue angel.” (A truth: The UDF stands for Unions of Demonic Forces. The UDF is a form of Fascist Government. The IW or YIW are The UDF’s army.)
“It doesn’t matter, we were sent here for a job.”
“Every IW in the New York state and New Jersey State was sent here. Not just us.”
“Have you seen any of them?” Blue asked with a slight uncertainly. The walk through Jersey City had been scarily quiet.
“No, is that a bad thing?”
“A truth?” Blue asked. She turned towards her brother who put his hand through his dark purple hair and nodded. “Yes Steel. It is a bad thing. A very bad thing, are we close?” Steel pulled out the Zenith Compass from his pocket of his slopping jeans.
“Yes, about 0.2 ½ miles away, due north.”
“Thank you, one more thing Steel.”
“What now?”
“Invest in a belt.” (A truth: A Zenith Compass is a device which an IW or a YIW can navigate to a possible target or enemy. It can take you anywhere.) Steel swore at her as she led the way due east.
“How long have we been walking for?” Blue asked after what seemed like a eternality later.
“About 35 minutes. The stupid angel keeps moving though, I think we’re headed to Liberty Harbour.”
“For Lucifer’s sake.” She swore, developing into a jog until she could see the glimmer of the river that separated New Jersey and New York. “Are we close?” She stopped and turned towards Steel whose face was in a state rarely seen: serious.
“Yes, as a matter of fact, I can see her.” Blue turned quickly and could vaguely see a pair of white wings and long flowing blonde hair.
“Get down.” She hissed pushing Steel down to the floor. Very carefully she went into her belt and pulled out her sword.
“Awaken.” No matter how loud she spoke, the weapon always came alive. The sword burst into a blue heavenly flame. (A truth: The sword is shaped as a lightning bolt and is called The Angelic Avenger. Another truth: The only way to kill an Angel was to alight it with blue flame.) She watched as Steel pulled out his own weapon, a lightening striker. (A truth: The lightening striker is a whip that admits blue fire.) He carefully wrapped it around his hands and nodded at her.
“Luck maith mo chara.” He said putting his hand on her shoulder.
“The same to you.” She whispered.
With that Blue parted from Steel and her mind reared into battle mode. She carefully made her way around the angel, keeping a perfect distance from her. The angel didn’t seem to move and didn’t seem to realise she had been seen. With luck on her side, Blue made her way to the target knowing her brother had her back. It was his job to scout the area for any surprise attacks while she went for the most… obvious targets. Blue walked carefully to the angel with long white feathery wings and distrust and disgust formed in her head and stomach. Angels were vile; angels were to be ripped apart limb by limb. They didn’t deserve to live. Blue smelt a usual smell of smoke in the air and gripped her sword harder. Her brother must have found the rest of the attackers. The female angel must have been bait. Blue grinned, they were smarter than to fall for bait.
The angel in front of her must have smelt the ash in the air too because she turned very quickly. It took a minute for the angel to realise what was happeneing. However, soon enough her gray eyes widened as she looked at Blue. Blue didn’t waste any time and immediatly attacked.
She raised her blade of blue fire and the angel quickly shot from the floor and into the air, and five seconds later she quickly dropped a couple of meters away to the left of her. Something the angels didn’t know, the longer you spend up the air, the longer the IW/YIW had to prepare for their downfall. Blue didn’t run at the angelic woman but stayed where she was.
“You wish to run from me?” She asked with a scary grin.
“I’d like to see you try.” Blue looked up to see her brother standing behind the woman with a grin on his soot covered face. The angel turned towards him and gave a little scream. However, Steel frowned and so did Blue. It was not a scared scream, it was something very different. It was a scream someone made when they had found something they had always been looking for.
“Run!” The angel screeched turning back towards Blue. “Please run, they will kill you.”
Steel stood in a confused manner for a second, but a second was all an angel needed. Something swooped from the sky and picked up Steel and threw him. Steel kept on rolling until he rolled off the pier and into the water.
This is when Blue got angry.
“You’re a good piece of bait; you nearly had me for a second.” She launched herself at the angel. However, she didn’t make it far. She felt an arm grab her and throw her across the pier. She smashed her head onto the floor and quickly got to her feet. The world seemed to spin on its axis a little quicker than normal and Blue couldn't see very well. She stared at the blood patch on the floor and wondered if it was hers. Her head snapped up as she heard the female angel scream. Something was coming towards her, and that something was no angel.
“What in Lucifer’s name is that?” She whispered to herself as the beast came closer to her. It looked a little like a man but it wasn’t. It had horns coming out of his head, with its feet webbed. It walked towards her with a limp and snarled with sharp red teeth. Not only that, it had red skin. Red skin, holy hell. She had seen worse in hell, but this… this was a heavenly invention. (A truth: You can tell whether something is a heavenly invention by the Star of David that is normally painted on their forehead.) The beast growled and reached for her, and pulled her back from her hair. She gasped in pain as her cut on her head was ripped open further. Where was her Angelic Avenger? She raged her eyes around the pier and could see the faint glimmer of the blue flame; it was in the angels arms.
Blue would never give up, she wasn’t going to die here, and neither was Steel. He knew how to swim, he would be fine. She on the other hand, would kill the thing; and she certainly wasn’t going to be beaten by an angel. She used her elbows to hit the thing in the face and then finally, in the shoulder. The thing released her hair and she kicked it in the stomach. Her heavy black boots plated with silver caused even more pain. She then ran towards the angel at full speed bringing her fists up to her face, the angel passed her the sword before Blue could punch her.
“Watch out!” The angel screamed as Blue stared at her in surprise for a second and then quickly turned towards the thing as it too brought a weapon. It was a dagger.
Blue watched as the thing threw the dagger and missed her heart by inches. Blue laughed and charged at the thing with her sword raised. The thing didn’t put up a fight. She sliced the sword into his heart and watched as the fire ate the rest of his body.
It wasn’t over yet though, not with the angel still there. Blue turned with the blade alight and was getting ready to fight the angel. There was no need however; the angel had the dagger in its stomace. She watched as the blood was absorbed by the angels white dress. The angel cried softly, and Blue dropped to her knees beside her.
“Thank you – for helping-” Blue didn’t have anything else to say, it was just an angel. Why was she showing it any sympathy?
“You have blue hair like your father.” The angel suddenly said with a slight smile.
“What do you know about my father?” Blue demanded. The angel simply rested herself on Blues knees and whispered;
“Tell your brother I love him, hold me Blue. I don't want to die alone.” Blue couldn’t do much else.
She just watched as the angels grey eyes lost all sparkle.
