Poems of Imagination

A simple stick and stone

A simple stick and stone,

A mighty sword and shield,

Is but the minds great power.

A single drop

A single drop of water,

is the sweetest wine,

or purest medicine,

or foulest poison.

What will it be to you?

Words of a Story

The most amazing worlds,

the bloodiest wars,

the greatest heroes

the darkest villans

the most tragic pasts

the brightest futures

and the most thrilling adventures

are all writen in the words of a story.

Hello I'm fairly new to YWS my name is Ty7lucky. I liked you poem a lot. I liked the line
"A simple stick and stone,

A mighty sword and shield"

It says to me that if you imagine it things can become anything you want. People think that you can't make something better than it actually is but that isn't true, things can become so much more if you imagine. Everything could become anything. A bike could become a mighty steed that will carry you on your quest. And like you said stories are anything you interpret them as. Someone might see a whole different person when they read the same story. The mind has enough power to change the world but if you don't imagine anything for the future you can't make it any different. All great people had good imaginations so they could imagine the iPhone or the car. Thanks for listening- sincerely Ty7lucky.

I feel as if this poem could be the intro to some amazing show where they have legendary armor and what not, but I thought this poem was surely and truly the amazing bomb.
It was like viewing glimpses of reality. Many forms of reality and many stories. In another mode you could say a lot of themes and genres. This paints a picture of something great to come, to be anticipated, a guide to traveling the sea of imagination. I have but one suggestion, include more glimpses. That's all I have to add.
Nice poem.

Hey, it's Merguls with a review, so about your poem.

It was great. I loved the way it was written and how you make it seem as if imagination can turn something into anything else. My personal favorite paragraph was the first one, my favorite line in the first paragraph being, is but the minds great power.

Keep up the great work

Sincerely, MergulsFavPen.

Hi,
*petrified
*shocked
*surprised

These words describe my feeling toward your poems/poem. I think I can grasp what you meant here.

The title represents the three poem inside, whilst the three poems describe the title...yes?
Like an imagination is could be anything... An imagination can grow stronger..

The second is just great. I understand some of it (which is really good. If all people could understand any poems perfectly, why would people be creating poems? This is because everyone got their own way of thinking. Example: You reviewed a poem. You said it was sad. However, another review came; it said it was funny. Know what I meant, yes?)

The last is XXXXXX (petrified again)

All the things I said^ were just the opening. (XD) I'll do this one by one, though.

A simple stick and stone

A simple stick and stone,

A mighty sword and shield,

Is but the minds great power.

The metaphors here are acceptable...(you could still use another thing to describe it though, because stick; sword might work great, but stone; shield is just....unreasonable...)
You're making this to rhyme...(the first and the second are fine...but the third line feels like forced...(remember, rhyme isn't the most important thing in poetry's world.)

Coming up:

A single drop

A single drop of water,

is the sweetest wine,

or purest medicine,

or foulest poison.

What will it be to you?

The message is well said...but all of them seem to be rough, forced. But I don't think you're trying to rhyme here, because it's not rhyming at all. (I know it's harsh but I'm being honest) If you put 'the' before the purest and foulest...it might just work, though, but try to revise this thoroughly. You seem to know great words, it seems you couldn't arrange them well, study more, okay?

There are typos in here...(I think the 'villans' and the 'writen'.)

It is a masterpiece! (Don't be that happy, though) I could see the truth of this in the movies/films/games/books I read. (I can read game...you know.) A quote to describe this poem:

"The poet is a liar who always speaks the truth."
-Jean Cocteau

I hope to see more from you! Keep writing; revising! I hope this helped ya; remember!

"A poem is never finished, only abandoned."
-Paul Valery

Wow, that's really good! I loved how you described the imagination and how it creates all these amazing twists and turns into one idea or story. How it goes into the darkest and lightest of topics and makes a world of its own to explore within, lovely job and keep up the good work!

Hello.

I really like how your poem separates the simple from the complex, as with ideas.
All writers here will be able to understand your metaphor; and I personally find this poem very instructive. You also have good command of grammar and punctuation, which helps your ideas to flow.
Well done.
