PreviousNext

Take a break from the world...

Appreciate the silence,

Close your eyes,

Draw a breath

-savour it-

Stop listening;

Not to the humming vehicles,

Not the busy streets,

The crying children,

The busy bees.

this loud, confusing life.

Forget the past;

Escape the now,

Don't worry about tomorrow.

To keep your brain sane,

Reach for your soul

And keep your feet on the ground .

#I exist;

I feel,

I live,

I breathe,

I'm me,

I'm my breeze!

Take a break from the world...

Love the silence,

Close your eyes,

Breathe some air

-smile slowly-

Feel it.

Feel you.

I feel like we can all use this poem in our day to day lives. With so much chaos happening around us in the world, we sometimes need to take a break and relax. We need to remember that we do exist, and that we are humans and we need relaxation time.

''Close your eyes,

Draw a breath

-savour it-

Stop listening;''

I always ''zone out'' as my mother likes to call it. But I don't zone out. I just try to clear my brain for at least a minute and not think. Just breathe and let whatever's happening around be silence out.

''Forget the past;

Escape the now,

Don't worry about tomorrow.''

I wish I could forget about tomorrow. But I'm always wondering what tomorrow will bring. I wonder if some people do that too. I mean, well that's a dumb question, everyone does.

Good Job on your very encouraging poem!

I love this. The poem itself is amazing, and the title is genius. The poem is kinda like a guided meditation with the part that says, ""Take a break," "Close your eyes," "Draw a breath", and it really engages the reader into the poem. The language that you use makes this feel even more real, like the parts you said, "busy streets," "crying children," and "busy bees." The tone that you used is also very soothing, and inviting, which made me want to keep reading. This is an amazing poem!

this is amazing. I really took a deep breath and felt some things because of this poem, it's wonderful. you are you and you are so awesome! the tone of voice, even if it's writing, I could feel it and it added so much. calm, peaceful, kind. keep going, dewdrop.

Thank you so much

I just read your comment on my work saying how you wrote a poem with the same name and decided I had to check it out. I love the slow pace and calm tone of voice.

Thank you so much

And on the pedestal these words appear:/'My name is Ozymandias, king of kings;/Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!'/Nothing beside remains.
— Percy Bysshe Shelley
