For my Grandma's 75th birthday I wrote her a poem in Dutch. Maybe one of you knows Dutch. Maybeee
*************************************************************
Achter de horizon daalt de zon,
’t is tijd om naar bed te gaan.
Tevreden kijkt mijn oma op,
Op naar de Heer, op naar God.
Wat een dag die ze achter de rug heeft,
Stroop gemaakt, kleren gestreken,
En niet te vergeten !
Het heerlijk eten.....
Een succesvolle maar een lange dag,
En morgen weer eentje te gaan.
Maar nooit is mijn oma moe,
Nooit heeft ze er genoeg van.
Altijd straalt ze haar liefde uit,
Altijd is ze tevreden, altijd is ze blij
En altijd..is ze de liefste oma voor mij.

As you wish Snoink
Behind the horizon sets the sun,
its time to go to bed.
My grandmother looks up satisfied,
up to the Lord, up to God.
What a day she has behind her,
made syrup, ironed the clothes,
and not to forget !
The great food...
A succesful but long day,
tomorrow another one to go.
But never is my grandmother tired,
never has she had enough,
always does she show her love,
she's always satified, always happy
and always the best grandmother to me.

Aww... that reminds me of Grandma Rose!
I mean... she was always like that, except for the fact that we lived far apart and she would have no sugar syrup, which we didn't really like. She was diabetic, so she couldn't have that kind of stuff.

I don't think you have to go on about something special she did. It's enough that she's there.
Interesting: my only comment (I'm afraid I can't really shoot at your grammar and syntax) is that you focus a lot on your Grandma's enthusiam and day-to-day skills, but maybe a verse on the accomplishments that make her out of the ordinary would be nice?
nice to see people writing in other languages, we always seem to have so few examples of it.
Just a thought

Can you put a translation here?
Well, I used freetranslation.com, which translated it word for word, so I really can't critique it.
But I liked it...I think. I like the part about syrup and the smooth clothes or...something. Well, you're grandma probably loved it, so thats good.
