Words

In poetry

"Not you, I can say-
sweet and kind phrases-
but in the end, they are just words-
words are what my mighty pen creates-
shadows and imitations of thoughts and ideas-
never rightly put to paper-
never wrongly said outloud-
drifting in the condensed air-
or laying on the lines of script-
I use to dazzle, to create-
I cry my ink onto the lyrics of my life-
I hope, I pray, I think, I love-
that maybe you will understand-
please dont take these words, from me, away-
for these words are all I have."

The fact that you used hyphons after EVERY line sort of got on my nerves, because it doesn't make sense to me. Work on your use of punctuation and that will help greatly with the rhythm of the poem and the way it is read.
Aside from that, wonderful idea, great imagery and very non-cliche. Well done, keep writing.

I loved it. I always like it when a writer...writes...about writing. Lol. But it explained writing itself and I liked the way you wrote it. You showed what the basics of writing are. Emotion, feeling, seeing..whatever it is. You gave the basics to whatever writing is in your poem.

I always love it when a writer writes about writing. Ha-ha. :D This is wonderful, and in my opinion, exactly how I feel about words too! The only error is that you left out an apostrophe in...

please dont take these words, from me, away-

Otherwise, it's awesome! My favorite line is "I cry my ink onto the lyrics of my life." Pure poetry!!

We always talk about the "doers" and "dreamers" but I'd like to give a big shoutout to the "tryers".
