I have grown weary of the world -
Nasty, greedy, wild.
So, my friend,
Pick up the knives thou hid beneath the mattress,
The shards of glass from those bleeding orbs of thine.
Gather them all,
And come with me.
Hold my hand, and we shall witness
All the misery hidden beneath.
Cut, cut, cut -
Split it open as deeply as thou desirest.
Thine is the earth, thine alone.
Let us find the maggots hiding from us.
Whence came they?
We shall end them here.
Take my hand, my friend.

This is dark, but I love the maggot imagery, it's so gross but works so well. It is overall good and worth rereading!
this poem is honestly so deep and full of raw emotion like you can really feel the pain and how tired the writer is of all the bad things in the world. the imagery with the knives and the glass from the bleeding eyes is super intense and dark but it perfectly shows how much hurting is going on inside. i love how it talks about cutting open the earth to find the maggots because it feels like trying to expose all the fake and corrupt things that are hidden from us everyday. the old time language oh yeah my brother, like thou and thine mixed in makes it sound like a dark old spell or something but it still makes complete sense in a modern way. its kinda creepy but in a beautiful and comforting way because the person is telling their friend that they arent alone in all this misery and that they can face the ugliness together. definitely gives me chills but in a good way and i think anybody whos ever felt completely done with people or the world will really connect with it.
Now to encourage you, let me repeat that for you.

Now keep writing and keep sucking bananas.
