I felt the cold steel of the blade as it cut into my arm. Pain pulsed in my arm as warm blood rolled down it. The boy jumped backwards getting out of range of my sword. Grimacing, I raised my sword, only to cause more pain to pulse.
“My blade allows me to easily kill my opponents. If it even barely touches a vein, it will slowly eat away toward your heart,” the boy said readying his sword for another strike. Twisting my wrist and shoving, I drove my sword into the ground up to its hilt.
I removed a vial of clear liquid from my pocket and took a drink. It tasted like ruined milk making me nearly barf. Within seconds, the metallic taste of blood filled my mouth.
“What are you doing?” the boy asked as his muscles in his legs tensed as I spit the blood onto the hilt of my sword.
“Vengence does not enjoy pain,” a voice whispered throughout the air. My sword began to glow dimly and I felt warmth fill my insides. “Life of the enemies will become mine,” the voice whispered again, but this time through me.
An immense pain filled my palms as I gripped the hilt. “Life will be engulfed by me!” the voice shouted once again through me. A dark energy exploded from the hilt knocking me back a few feet.
“Now go forth my blade. Extend your power and devour our enemies’ souls, Xanos!” the voice and I shouted together. A black aura covered my sword and slowly withdrew itself from the ground.
“What witchery is this?” shouted the boy. The black aura seemed to freeze the boy on the spot upon his words.
“Elongate!” I shouted. The blade descended till the tip barely touched the ground. When the tip touched the ground, the ground began to shake violently. Black lines with red outlines moved from the tip of the blade. The boy jumped back trying to avoid the lines. Unimaginable pain coursed through me making me see dots. The lines moved and stopped after forming a large upside-down pentagram.
The boy seemed to sense the dark power within the circle. Tightening his grip on his sword, he lunged forward towards me, taking large strides. Placing a fist against my palm, a small black hole appeared. I slowly withdrew a katana from the hole as the boy neared. The same black aura extended from the katana in my grip till it covered me. The wound in my forearm began to heal itself. I brought my katana forward blocking the boy’s attack.
“You never told me your name,” I growled as bright sparks danced around our clashing blades.
“I do not tell my name to those who I kill,” the boy snarled.
Flames seemed to burn in the boy’s eyes. Out the corner of my eye, I saw Xanos slowly cut in the middle of each line leaving a trail of fire. As the boy raised his sword, I spun around slicing a gash from his shoulder across to his waist. I crouched as he turned swinging, barely avoiding decapitation. A drop of the boy’s blood touched the line. Instantly, the whole flaming upside-down pentagram began to glow a pitch black.
I jumped to the side as the boy’s blade drove itself into the ground. My katana vanished as I wrapped my hand around Xanos’ hilt. “This is the true power of Xanos. Xanos will absorb your soul slowly, making sure you feel every last bit of pain,” I said holding Xanos to the side.
The boy opened his mouth to reply, but no sound was heard. “I bet you are already feeling the effects,” I said as I slowly walked towards him. The boy shook his head franticly before lifting his sword. “Your death is coming,” I said as I lifted my sword.
“N-n-no!” the boy screamed.
“I love it when they resist,” the voice said through me making me lick my lips. “Feed me his soul!” Xanos whispered in my head. I could already feel Xanos starting to control me. “Xanos enjoys the pain of others,” I whispered as I stepped in front of the boy.
The boy lifted his blade and swung it at me with full force. When the blade touched the black aura, it started to fade from existence.
“Get away from me!” the boy cried out attempting to run. Shaking my head, chains erupted from the ground. The boy was chained with his arms and legs spread out.
“It is time for Xanos to feed,” I said as the pentagram enveloped us in a huge black orb. I raised Xanos over my head and swung it down. I took my time slicing the boy to bits. With each slice, Xanos shivered in my grasp with pleasure. A warm feeling spread throughout me as the boy’s soul flowed from the body, through the blade and hilt, and into me.
“Delicious!” Xanos moaned.
“Xanos, you are free until I call upon you again,” I said as the chains disappeared and the boy’s sliced body parts fell to the ground. The blade vanished from my grip leaving my standing alone in the center of the black orb alone.
“Demolish,” I said. Light began to filter in, dissipating the black orb. The wind began to blow gently through the trees and I looked down at the pile of body parts at my feet. “What a waste of space,” I said as I pulled out a vial labeled GASOLINE. Uncorking it, I poured the contents of the vial onto the pile.
“Enjoy Hell,” I said smiling as I lit a match. I dropped the match on the pile, watching as flames engulfed it. Standing up, I about faced and walked away.
“You think you’ve defeated me?” the boy’s voice said I turned around seeing a complete clone of the boy standing there.
“So, you are Alex, the master puppeteer. You are one of the legendary six eh?” I said as I saw a boy sitting on a tree branch.

Should you choose to continue this, you should read Brent Weeks' The Ways Of Shadow. It is really good and I couldn't help remembering it as I read about the sword, the energy and the spirit that lives in the warrior- if that was what you intended? I like the other aspects too, like making this boy multi-bodied. Makes me wonder what's next. I chorus with everyone else, "Continue!"
I never read that, maybe I should. Anyways, I'm starting outline tomorrow when I have free time at school, and should have it finished by either Wednesday or Thursday. Then I will write a little and should have something uploaded around Sunday.
Hey this is pretty good! ^-^ You should definitely make this into a novel.
Hey thanks koko! Is this the same KoKo/Cookie I know?! Anyway, I am probably starting outline Friday since I'm not going to school.
I like this, definitly deserves to be turned into a novel. The main key elements being the blood on my part. but vengence has a taste in it's own, I really like it. I do believe you could have given motive somewhere along the line, other than it was a puppet or the guy the main character was facing was one of the legendary six. But overall I like it keep it up!

Thanks, I wrote this a few weeks ago at school. If I get a few more nominations for novel, I shall start it when I outline a bit.
And the motivation is somewhere earlier in the novel if it becomes it.
