Your Heart Is Where I Belong

PreviousNext

I wish the eyes were dry at the last goodbyes

I wish that love could always find you and me

I don't feel safe in any other arms

I cannot trust someone else like you

The more I fight it is the more I'm stuck

It quietly becomes clearer to me everyday

That your heart is where I belong!

I carry myself with confidence everyday

And smile as if everything is okay

I try to bear it with the strength of a lady

But deep down it breaks my soul apart

Could it be you, or my own illusions?

Your calmness and your love make me believe

That your heart is where I belong

I wish we could just be alone somewhere

Spend a moment in the sun and watch the stars at night

Dance to our favourite songs and get drunk with sweet wines

Have smooth kisses and maybe make sweet love

Because with those stars in your eyes

I can see you’re the dream I once knew

Hello AnyimHumphrey :D

I'll just admit it, I sang this song. The lyrics really begged me to sing it, because it was so good... Your lyrics are well-paced, you have good word choices. Although, something I had to notice; at first, the song starts off with

I wish the eyes were dry at the last goodbyes
I wish that love could always find you and me
I don't feel safe in any other arms
I cannot trust someone else like you
The more I fight it is the more I'm stuck
It quietly becomes clearer to me everyday
That your heart is where I belong!

And that kind of suggests that 'I' is divorced/broken up with her/his love, but I got confused for as it neared the end, I seemed like they are peaceful and never have broken up...? If I am mistaken, I am so sorry. Great job at writing this awesome song!

Thanks, and keep writing on, mephis

Its beautiful :')

Love is definitely the most beautiful feeling in this world and if you have found true live in any part of life, you must surely consider yourself lucky.

The poem has touched my heart and I crave to read more of this kind.

I love this. Great poem indeed :)

Keep writing!
Love,
Krish.

Amazing isn't even the word for this :) Seemed so deep and something that I could understand really well. "I can see you're the dream I once knew" That there is just brilliant. Really enjoyed reading this :)

I enjoyed this piece.

This is an interesting work!

It makes me think the narrator of this poem is lost in a world of dreams.

Maybe you should prop it up into stanzas?

Entirely your choice.

Anyways, onword with the review!

This is an interesting work, like I said, and it is a nice inspire piece.

This also makes me thinks like the narrator is leaving someone, a lover?
And this also reads as a possible emotional piece for you, then again it could have been just a quick piece.

I enjoyed reading this, keep up the writing!

Thanks,

SW

Thanks for your review SW. Actually, the poem is in stanzas, but I wonder why the spaces did not show here. It's a poem of three stanzas! The first stanza starts at...

'I wish the eyes were dry at the last goodbyes'...

the second one starts at....

'I carry myself with confidence everyday'....

while the third and last stanza begins at....

'I wish we could just be alone somewhere'....

Hey there my friend! It's BlimeyLimey217 here to review! ;)

First of all, I really enjoyed this poem! It's easy for me to relate to, feeling like I belong in one's heart! The topic was one that I'm sure many can relate to, and that always makes a difference! ;)

Secondly, the rhythm was really good! I noticed that many here don't rhyme while writing poetry! I really enjoy rhyming in poems, but this was written so well, I can't complain! ;)

Thirdly, the punctuation could use some help.... Just read through it and add some commas and periods and then it will be perfect!

Lastly, I'd just like to encourage you to keep writing! Excellent job! I look forward to reading more of your works in the future!

Thank you blimeylimey217. I actually like writing blankly sometimes, and this poem happened to fall in such times. Other than that, I will still check out your findings. Best regards.

This is really good and I can relate to it. Many a times I have felt this way in my life. It flows very smoothly and we understand what you are trying to portray. I didn't see any grammatical errors or spelling errors. This wasn't short and was the perfect length, that's all I know about poetry. There may be more, but I don't know what to tell you up to this.

Thanks Bugslake for liking it!

Hey, it's a true piece of work. I'm glad I read it
