I impatiently sit in the corner of my owner’s dusty closet, surrounded by neglected toys that have lost their shine. I wait for her to remember me and take me out to play. Just as I start to fear that I have become one of those stuffy toys, I hear the sound that comforts me like a mother’s whisper; her footsteps. She opens the creaking door slightly just enough for her petite body to fit through and takes me into her tender arms. Her soft blond hair brushes me and I get ready for an adventure.
We arrive at the park to the sound of a car roaring, and birds fleeing as they spot this unnatural machine. My owner jumps out of the car and excitedly plunges me into the brilliant sky. I stretch my dainty body as I swarm into the whipping wind. As I glance down at the life below and above me, I take in the perfection before my eyes.
I notice giggling children playing tag and young couples shyly holding hands with infatuated looks in their eyes. As I start to pay more attention to the earth beneath me, a hurrying bird knocks my side, swarms past me and violently spins me around. I longingly look after it. Thoughts of sadness and helplessness swim through my mind. I wish to be free like that bird. I wish to fly and feel the ecstasy of freedom, with no tight rope stubbornly pulling at me down, with a constant smirk of satisfaction.
Suddenly a mighty wind blows fiercely, tearing away my owners grip on the rope. With no hesitation, I swing in the plunging direction of the wild wind.
As the realization of what has happened dawns on me, a feeling of immense joy collapses on me like waves on top romantic shores. I am free at last. I feel the wind caressing me like a mother its cub and I hear the trees gossip the secrets of the wild as I take off. I swirl into the clouds high above me, their bulky body’s as gentle as kisses. I glide with the majestic birds and flutter with the butterflies. Finally, I linger in the air for a while, feeling my sun-kissed body. I am totally relaxed, peaceful and free.
Hungry for adventure, I dive. I see the hard earth approaching and just as I am about to smash onto its surface, I abruptly stop. I can feel the adrenalin in me. I hover higher again and observe the humans, starting to feel a painful longing for my owner. One dark man passes by with a distressed look on his young face, and a ring of whiter skin on his left ring finger. His sighs are heart-breaking. I turn my attention to an old couple holding hands and strolling under the sunlight. Their wrinkled hands gently clasp eachothers, as they look at one another with dear smiles, yet an everlasting fire of love burns in their wrinkled eyes. I notice a pair of tall, bubbly teenage girls bumping into eachother as they surround themselves with fits of laughter. The bony brunette accidentally trips over, and looking quite embarrassed causes the bright red-head to stop walking and bend over in a hysterical choir of laughter. Seeing these girls causes a stabbing stroke of sorrow, as I remember my sweet owner.
Just as I am about to sink into deep regret and mourning, my heart sings to the sight of my owner sobbing on a chipped park bench. The sight of her salty tears flowing down her chubby cheeks, and her wailing sobs calling my name rip my insides to shreds. I forget all of the joys that I have experienced and I swarm in an infinite speed to her and land head first right into her lap. Her smile has never been bigger.

This is an adorable piece!
And I loved how the kite found its way back to its owner in the end.
I can just picture the whole scene in my head, with the kite flying around the sky, shadowing us people down here. It just sounds so cute. Like one of those short Disney films they play before a movie!
Anyways, good job on this! I really enjoyed it
Kudos!
Thanks so much!!
Hello!!
I just have to say, I love this piece. =) It's full of imagination, creativity, and excellent writing.
You have a wonderful command of imagery and depth!
I did notice a couple of misspellings or grammatical errors (like missing commas), but not many. The one that I feel I have to point out, though, is " I swirl into the clouds high above me, their bulky body’s as gentle as kisses." Their bodies aren't possessing anything, so it would be spelled 'bodies'.
Like I said before, I love this piece. I wish I could offer more, but I'm not great at reviews. =/
Keep it up, though!

I cannot believe that I let that 'bodies' error slip!!! Thank you so much for telling me, because its actually an essay for school!!!
Thanks again
Thanks so much for the great review, and I think that you are very good at it
Haha, I'm pretty sure we all do it. =)
The Messenger Knight here to review for KotGR.
Technical errors first.
so you have two times in these sentences where you jam eachotther together. Those are the only errors I saw, so fantastic job on that!
So first off this is one of the most creative things I've ever read, and secondly you executed it perfectly. Can't really put it much better than that. I loved all the different people you showed. The teenage girls, the old couple, the sad man; it all went so well together. And the ending was great as well.
Keep it up!
I completely agree with what you said about the error. It does slow down the flow of the story, and it makes it harder to read. Thanks so much for telling me, I will be sure to change it.

Thanks sooo much for the review and the extremely kind words. I am flattered that you think that it is so creative. Thank you so much, again!
