You know, I feel like peer pressure gets a bad rap a lot of the time. When I was in high school, I fell into a small group of friends who were all smart, bookish, Advanced Placement kids. Because of those kids; I started reading more, I signed up for AP classes, and I started thinking more critically. I was coming from a fairly uneducated family (no had ever stepped foot onto a college campus) and I wasn't self-motivated enough to do those things on my own so I'm fairly certain that if it wasn't for those friends, I would have truly not become the person I am now today. So, all in all, I think it's about who you surround yourself with. If you just always surround yourself with people who have traits that you admire and that you want, then you'll be influenced in a good way and those good traits will rub off on you. On the other hand, if you surround yourself with people who don't necessarily have admirable attributes, then they will rub off on you as well.
Thanks for listening to my two-cents, lol!
