The sound of a woman's heeled shoes sounded on the pavement, followed by the calling of a slurred drunken voice. "Eve!" The woman was trying to run in a tight satin cocktail dress with mad chocolate curls blowing into her panda eyes. She was tall and slender and looked as if she would break if she fell, which she nearly did, right as the girl she had been tottering after caught her in small arms. "Arnie what are you doing?!" Eve couldn't help but laugh at the state of her sister who was in such a mess and still dressed from the night before. With a deep breath Arnie began, "You forgot your history folder!" In a kindly manner, Eve took her sister's arm and began leading her back to the house. "Arnie, I don't have history today. You know that, now lets get you back to mum." The two sisters could not be more different. Arnie was just like any normal twenty two year old in that she partied all night and slept all day. She dressed in fashion and kept her natural brunette hair,
Eve on the otherhand was, different. Her body was mature and shaply but she was very short, unlike her sister who was nearly six feet tall. For a girl only five foot four she had attitude; not in the way moody teenagers do, you could maybe call it gumption. Her hair was ginger but mostly pink now as she had dip dyed it in raspberry blush. If you looked close enough you could see that she was covered in tiny orange freckles. Her apple eyes were always wearing a thick, black layer of liner on the tp lid that made her eyes look wide as an ocean. She was dressed in a little floaty red dress that only made her look more impish and small.
That day at college all Eve could think about was Arnie, was she okay? Her sister had always had a tendency to over drink and make herself very ill. After just a term at college Eve learned that her mother and father were splitting, again, and now she had to move from her childhood home to..... to somewhere new......... or old to her mother. "It's nice," her mother had said and when Eve had protested she had said, "Well it's this or stay here, with your Dad!" Now that Eve couldn't bare to do, so she had no choice. The town sounded awful but Gravestown apparently had low crime levels and had very very good sixthform college for her to attend. Somehow this didn't appeal to Eve, even at the thought of meeting her family she was totally unexcited.
It wasn't just that her parents were splitting that they had to make the move, it was her reputation now. Over that summer her sister had dated a kid in her class and somehow the world found out and her family just fell into disgrace and her sister into a drunk mess. "My life....." she explained to her friend Joel, ", is so messed up right now, but I'll come back, I'm sure of it." In her heart she knew that she would never be back but her and Joel had been friends for nearly twelve years and she didn't want to break his heart.

With a sigh Eve zipped up her last case, looking across the room all she could see was white walls and cream carpet, no posters or colour so that the room was her own, it wasn't hers now, nothing belonged to her anymore. This house, the memories it held, would be forgotten and for the better, they would be shared by many as "that house" the one that was always loud, always screaming and never at peace. So much heartache had gone on behind the walls of seventysix Elpwood Avenue that the town was abuzz with whispers that were unfair and untruthful. This last night that Eve was to spend in the house was to be spent on a blow up mattress next to Arnie in the living room. Their mum, Sandy was sleeping on the last sofa to be packed and had spilt a glass of poisonous looking red wine on the pale carpets. All three of them had drunk way too much that night and Eve's head was a blur of unhealthy images of blood stains and big dark birds that made her feel sick and lost.
The day had gone by so fast that Eve didn't remeber much when she woke that saturday, the endless flow of wine and vodka probably didn't help either. Fully dressed, she stepped off the cheap mattress and picked up her rucksack. Sandy and Arnie were already up and ready to leave but had let Eve sleep in and recover from the night. "Goodbye." Eve whispered to the walls of her childhood home and wanted to kiss the textured wallpaper goodbye but the shrill call of her mum's smokers chest hurried her along.

I really liked the beginning AND end of this story! I liked how you used onamonapia in the first part. And also how you called Arnie's eyes "panda eyes" I liked that. : D
The fact that you called Eve "impish", well i just liked it! I could say so much more about it that i loved about this story! Well, keep writing! I can't wait for more!

I love the description that you put into this. How you described Eve was wonderful and I could totally picture her in my mind. I also really liked that ending sentence, "...but the shrill call of her mum's smokers chest hurried her along." and I just realized from typing that that you forgot to put an apostrophe after the r in smoker's. Just something you might want to add in
I think this has a whole lot of good points to it, but there were some things that confused me. Why does Eve still live with her parents if there are all these problems and she's in college? Couldn't she just move out? And is there a reason that her sister drinks like she does? Did her father do something and that's why nobody wants to live with him or do they just like their mom better? My guess is that my questions will be answered in later chapters right? So I'll stop bombarding you with them and just say that I really liked this and to keep writing
