I dodge hurriedly off to the left, I think I am being rather deft, I slide silently through the town, I am now free with my crown.
And yet you somehow will spot me, even though I should be off scot-free, And so even though violence I did avoid, you find me and cast me to the void.
I am just left just to groan and frown, reconsidering if I should have the crown, if being kind and quiet was truly the boulevard, for the difficulty known simply as very hard.
Ten more times I am cast to the void, even though death I try to avoid, you then tell me I may rest in peace, but if unfinished will I ever be at peace?

The machine is experiencing uncertainty so you say as you slice and dice spinning with deadly intent
As I lie on the floor, death a certainty, about to be among the mice, I can't help but hear your lament.
Are you uncertain about your program? Unsure if killing me was your true purpose? Have you simply regretted your choice?
Are you worried about oil and a jam? Unsure if this is a steady surface? Have you lost your poise?
Are you perhaps experience the curse of sentience? Unsure if you're alive and breathing or even real? Have you thought of being flesh and blood?
Are you perhaps just programmed with impatience? Unsure if option A or option B is the correct ideal? Have you simply no clue your code is a dud?
Perhaps its me who experiences uncertainty, wondering If I do deserve paradise, if as I at last die, am I truly content?
Maybe I just wish for certainty, as I hope I have been nice, and deserve to escape torment.

So this is a line the robotic enemies in dishonored 2 say when they've sort of half detected you and you start running away. In this particular instance I died immediately after and this is what I imagine Emily (the character you play as) might have thought as she faded from the world.

You know what, I've never really thought about how NPCs must feel about a character that just constantly revives, and how depressing the knowledge would be- your poem's got me thinking though! Fifteen years ago a man stood atop Dunwall tower there to dethrone a tyrant it was my father.
Today its a woman that stands atop Dunwall tower here to dethrone a tyrant taught by my father.
My father had lost his love and his daughter framed and dishonored as a murderer yet he kept his hands clean.
I was cast out by my grandfather's illegitimate daughter dethroned and vilified as a murderer and yet I kept my hands clean.
So that day as he chased away that scheming tyrant undone by his own ego and defeated with his own twisted scheme I ascended the throne and mended our empire.
And now as I chase away this scheming tyrant undoing her thanks to her ego with her own twisted scheme I know I can once again mend our empire.
