Recently, a new section was added to profiles called "Trophies." But, there's a problem. There aren't many badges to give out yet.

So if you have some time, what I really need help with right now is designing new badges. I can't promise riches and fame, but I can promise the eternal gratitude of a thankful site!

If you're interested, here are a list of badges that are waiting to be given out but just need images to go along with them:

- Novice Reviewer: 10 Reviews
- Intermediate Reviewer: Earn 10,000 points for your reviews
- Expert Reviewer: Must be nominated (nominations area is ready but can't go live until the appropriate badges are made)

- Novice Storybooker: 10 storybook posts
- Intermediate Storybooker: Receive 100 likes for your posts
- Expert Storybooker: Must be nominated

- Novice Writer: Submit 2 literary works
- Intermediate Writer: Have 1 work get into the literary spotlight
- Expert Writer: Must be nominated

- Novice Greeter: Greet 10 members
- Intermediate Greeter: Greet 50 members
- Expert Greeter: Must be nominated

That's it for now, although there are a lot more planned. Should you accept this challenge, the image should be in .png format and 128px by 128px. Ideally, badges in a group should look similar to one another.

Last but not least, keep in mind that if you design a badge, that doesn't necessarily mean it will be used. So I highly recommend designing just one badge, then posting it to get comments on it.

Thank you for any help :)

So all we have to do is design them? Who will create the badges themselves?

Ignorance, if you have a design in mind, feel free to post it here and I'll see if I could do something with it. Or I'm sure some other members might drop by and give it a shot, too, as well as making their own ideas. c:

Sorry Ignorance for the ambiguity! By design, I meant design and create. However, what Hannah suggested sounds like a good plan.

How big do you want them? What shape? Fit into a square? A long bar rectangle? Where will they be displayed?

All of these come into context.
Hahah....haha.....ahahaha.

They're going to be displayed in the profiles section under trophies, if you haven't earned any yet, take a look at another user's for examples.

Their size, as Nate mentioned above, is 128px by 128px so they should fit into a square of that size, but can be any shape. So far we have a stork, a wave, a star... these are really open to creativity.

I hope it's okay to just leave these here!

I went ahead and did mockups for each one since color changing in photoshop is quite easy, but overall it turned out a little less exciting than I thought it would. . From left to right, novice greeter, intermmediate, and expert. I wanted to do ribbon colors (bronze, silver, gold) but bronze was less exciting than I anticipated. The light blue hand represents the old greeter color.

The storybook ones were fun (and frustrating). Since they'll be displayed rather small, I don't think it makes much sense to have wording on them, but I went ahead anyway. Image

Originally, I wanted expert to be black, but I think red looks more important.Image Thoughts? :D

@Juniper The red was actually my least favourite for the storybooks badges, I think because the writing doesn't stand out as much. The black is slick and sophisticated so if it's between those two, go black!

The greeter ones are really cute, good job :)

@Tenyo I love novice and intermediate writer, but I think expert isn't as pretty. Great colours though!

@Rydia, you're a doll. :) Thank you. I'm beginning to see that the black is the better choice, but I didn't like how the shading turned out. I tried to use gold lettering on the red one instead of silver to make it "more important" (important being in terms of YWS colors!). I think black is nicer though. Other color ideas are welcome!

Nate I was thinking about mentors and stuff.

Could we have badges?
There seems to be nothing written here.
