Which do you like better between the two? If that's the question, you need to fix the poll, because it sounds much more general than that. Anyway, I like short stories, but I mostly like writing longer stories... although I never finish them >_<
Short Stories are fun to read and write because A. it can be read quickly (hence the "short" part), B. It doesnt require too much thinking, C. It stays more true to the main goal instead of other stories (say harry potter, where lots of things happen before the end, whileas a short story will be quick and simple)
But thats just me.
You shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, instead, you should read every single book to see what every book is about before you even come close to judging its viability.
No no no, I was trying to clarify whether the point was to choose between poems and short stories or between those and anything else you might write. But you anwsered my question in any case, if indirectly.
Short stories but they all way become long strories
We get off to the rhythm of the trigger and destruction. Fallujah to New Orleans with impunity to kill. We are the hidden fist of the free market.
We are the ink, we are the quill.

I'm no good at any writing (and yet for some reason I continue doing it).
My aim is to publish a long story someday.
But I've lately found that there is much fun in short stories too. It's easier to make your message (if you have one) clear in a short story. More direct to the point.
My long stories have the habit of being too complicated.
