I picked the actual writing. I just love coming up with a story. It always seems so magical... At least until I go back a few days later and think, "Man, that's terrible..."
I just like the whole thing, the coming up with a good idea is the best part for me, and then just letting my mind wonder through all of the possibilities!

My favorite part of writing is either coming up with ideas or writing the beginning. I have a hard time concentrating on one story through. I have too many ideas and not enough time.
Woot! Fourth place! I love letting words flow from my fingers and twisting into the most creative forms i can imagine, concentrating on the power of every single syllable. I'm even smiling as I write this!

Well I suppose the thrill of writing something, is that it's one of the few morally ethical practices where you get to play God, you can create people, fully fledged human beings that can (if they're well created people) connect with a reader and then you get to determine where they go in life and where it ends for them and how they interact with all these other people that you've created. It's liberating.
I like writing the story best. Just sitting at my computer and watching the words flow onto the pages. Sharing in my characters joy and sadness. I admit that I've made myself cry and laugh with my characters.
Finishing the book is great too, but there's always that sense of "it's done" depression. Sad that the writing is over, but glad at the same time.
Brainstorming... My brain has a tendency to storm with ideas when it's least convenient. Like during school, when I'm trying to sleep, usually when there's no paper or pens aorund.
Writing itself; writing is amazing! Granted, I love creation, and I love building... and ending comes in as a close favorite. But what gives you more thrill than writing a tense moment, or allows you to control your own emotion but not at the same time? Ah, writing. My crack.
I agree with all of those who say characters, or worlds. That's sometimes the best part, especially if it's a fantasy. You can do want you want, how want, whenever you want! You start with an idea, then just let it flow.
