I'd go back and give my eight-year-old self a list of things not to do. >_>
Spoiler! :
Don't date that boy. Or that one. Or that one. AVOID THAT STAIRCASE YOU WILL FALL request to have a different algebra II teacher, this one will ruin your life Don't wear that... Wear that FOR GOD'S SAKE RUN FASTER YOU'RE GONNA MISS THE BUS Take that class more seriously Is that really what you want to look like on the day of yearbook pictures? Why aren't you more involved in stuff? Avoid that girl at all costs, she's a bad friend Take this class instead of that one You're an idiot but I love you so stop being so hard on yourself ok
“I can't go back to yesterday because I was a different person then." - Lewis Carroll
I would never go back in my life. I feel like I'd just ruin everything. I'd go to the future. And tell my future self I'm glad I get through whatever comes.
I would never go into the past. We ain't progressive now, and if I can only time travel once, not to go back, I wouldn't want to be stuck in a world of bigotry and hatred. Not that the future is guaranteed to be any better, but let's hope.

There are things in my life I would change. If I went to the future, what if it sucked? What if I just messed up my whole freaking life, and my future was this bleak horrific life.
Nope, past.
I believe in that, which is not seen. I call it truth, faith, hope, life.

Well I read this as a question assuming it was round-trip. So I'll continue to base my answer around that.
I don't want to go to the past because... well mostly because of the indoor plumbing issue. Plus the past sounds like a pretty horrible places because of what magpie said. Another big reason is the fear that I'd mess everything up and create a paradox. I mean, what kind of time travel paradox options are we talkin' here? Scary.
I'd want to go into the future, but far enough so I don't meet my future self and ruin everything for myself. I'd just like to see what happens, and when to buy a bomb shelter or get a certain vaccine etc. This also would be really risky. To be honest, I'm happy being right here, right now.
Instead, he said, Brother! I know your hunger. To this, the Wolf answered, Lo!
I agree with magpie and Fortis... The present is bad enough as it is. I definitely don't want to go to the past and experience how must worse it was first hand, and then be killed and looted by a village for wearing more than rags XD
The future is the choice. I love technology, and it should be quite fun. I'll get to see all the progress that was made ^_^
P.S. As Lost said, there will be no future self if you travel to the future xP YOU will be that future self xP So have fun talking to yourself!
I'd like to see the past but the paradoxes would probably implode the Universe. Plus, time travel to the future is far more likely to actually happen. Ideally, I'd visit James Hogg is 1825 and ask him to help with my dissertation on his novel. But, since it would probably undermine my very existence, I would go to the 22nd century to see how Spock and Kirk are doing.

This was really hard. Ask me a few years ago, and I would have said immediately, FUTURE. But now... it's honestly a tie. If I went to the past, I'd want to solve some sort of mystery, like Roanoke. But I can also solve a mystery if I travel to the future, since the future IS a mystery! I picked future, though.
Why would anyone want to go to the past, the past was horrible! I would be a idiot in the future, but in theory I will be a well taken care of idiot. So sometime in 300-400 years, that's where all the fun tech should have already been made.
