When you were invited by the Fae King to be a part of his guard, you didn't know what to expect. Here in a fit of cunning, or too blinded by rage to refuse, you made your way to the castle.

What you didn't expect was for someone else to hate him as much as you do.

The fact of the matter is, he's dead. And the only ones who could do it were you and everyone else in this party. And the queen suspects all of you. Locked in the wing with potential murderers, you must either hide your crimes or find the criminal before the queen kills all of you just in case. Will you rise above and make your way out? Or are you doomed to be slain along with your worst enemy?

Astrana

Spoiler! :
Levianthia:
  • Thebia: Home of Land Sprites, Fae, and Elementals. The land is surrounded by lush flora and greenery, creating a mountainous terrain. Most species that live in Levianthia are strong on feet, or thrive above the water. Agricultural revolution was adapted and used here, by the Fae kings as well as the Elemental Tribes. Here, as well as in Seaburrow, the common tongue is Levianthian. Although, some townsfolk also speak Xillian.
  • Seaburrow: Off the coast of Thebia, Seaburrow resides. Deep, unforgiving sea is clashed by smooth, serene beaches. Under the surface of the water, Mer and Sirens alike reside in the undersea town of Seaburrow.
Varrenia:
  • Sunrye: Within Varrenia, Sunrye is placed in the clouds. Blue, tall, vast buildings ranging from temples to palaces laid sprawled along the vast skyline. The gates of Sunrye are only open to Sky Sprites, Dragon Riders, and Angels.
Xillia: Also above the clouds, Xillia focuses more on the moon. During the day, species that reside in the Upper Lands will sleep, and the Sunrye will thrive. There is a major difference between Xillians and Sunrye as Xillia is formed by large, charcoal black masses in which Moon Sprites, Demons, and Pixies live.
Dynalis:
  • Starbane: Starbane is a secluded province located on the east side of Djantria. There is nothing but sand and desert, leaving room for only one species: Naga. Naga live under the dunes and usually pair up in groups of two.

Politics:
Allies:

Levianthia/ Dynalis
  • Levianthia gets resources like Diamond, copper, iron, emerald, and silver.
  • Dynalis gets resources like: Food, wood, technology, transportation (train)

Varrenia:
  • Self-sustainable by the sun, Dragon Riders use the rides to hunt and poach off land

Species

Spoiler! :

Land Sprites: Elemental spirit associated with Land and Earth. Land Sprites are usually down to earth and one with the planet. They usually work in greenhouses, parks, and gardens. Land sprites are small, fairy like creatures that are barely visible to the regular eye.
Abilities:
  • Land Sprites have an affinity to nature. They usually posses abilities similar to flora/nature, such as: plant fertility, advanced knowledge on species of plants.
  • Flower Transmutation: The ability to turn people or things into flowers for a short period of time.
  • Like all Sprites, Land Sprites are small and hard to spot with the normal eye. They can also dash through walls/ floors, like spirits.
Weaknesses:
  • Land Sprites are weaker than Moon Sprites, but stronger than Sky Sprites.
  • They tend to be super emotional, and feel strongly about nature and anything created by the planet. Therefore, they feel connected to any flora that surrounds them.
  • Earth Sprites can only use Flower Transmutation once in a day

Fae: Human-like species. Physical structure of a human, with pointed ears. Most fae are pretty tall due to genetics. Fae are unnaturally strong, and also have instincs similar to those of Wolves. Fae can usually draw upon ancestors to grant them gifts like: teleportation, advanced hearing. Fae are currently in Reign over Levianthia. Fae with a gift that corralates with an element are seperated into the Elemental Tribe and used to protect Levianthia from outside threats.
Elemental Fae: Humanoid Fae that posess one of these four gifts:
  • Earth Elemental
  • Air Elemental
  • Fire Elemental
  • Water Elemental
Weaknesses:
  • Fae can't lie when asked a question, but they can if they're generally speaking (unlike angels)
  • They cannot touch iron
  • Salt - neutralizes a Fae's magic

Mer: Mer or (mermaids) are creatures that live in the reefs and shallow waters of Seaburrow. Mermaids are social creatures. They have the top half of a human, bottom half of a fish. Mermaids are usually bubbly and crafty. Mer have the ability to grow legs when exposed to land. Even in human form, Mer still have control over their waterborne abilities. Mer can only be out of the water for 72 hours max.
Abilities:
  • Aquakinesis : Nearly all merfolk have the ability to manipulate Water and they have it in different variants. This variant they can move, form, use as a rocket and can control in general Water and any other liquid.
  • Enhanced Breath: Can inhale and exhale powerful Winds.
  • Self-Sutenance: Can live without food, moving, sleeping, heat, breathing, etc.
Weaknesses:
  • Is stronger in water, when in their human form they have mortal strength.
  • Can experience brain fog or memory loss when they are out of water for long periods of time
  • If someone takes a belonging from a Mermaid, the Mermaid is bound to them forever until they steal it back.
  • Fire

Sirens: Sirens are similar to Mer, attribute wise. Sirens usually reside in the deeper parts of the ocean, but also linger near docks. They also grow legs when exposed to air, but their water form and waterborne gifts are rather different. Sirens have the 'Siren Song' and are usually percieved as 'evil' Mer. Sirens will sometimes replicate, or pretend to be Mer, in their human forms. Sirens will usually sing and kill to survive. Physically speaking, Sirens have the top half of a usually 'beautiful' human, with the bottom half of a shark or eel.
Abilities:
  • Sirens have super long and sharp teeth, similar to a pirhanna, and they use it to rip apart their prey.
  • TW: Suicide "The Siren Song" - The Siren Song is a Siren's most deadly weapon. They use it sparingly, but when they do it usually causes the recipient to become suicidal/ commit self harm. This ability can also be used in Fae form.
  • Regeneration: Sirens possess great regenerative capabilities. They heal quickly from non-fatal injuries within a short period.
Weaknesses:
  • Sirens can only stay out of water for max 24 hours.
  • If they use their siren song to try and attract prey, but their prey escapes, they die.
  • Sirens are often depicted as lonely figures, isolated by their nature. This solitude can be seen as a weakness, limiting their understanding and interaction with the outside world.

Sky Sprites:Same idea as Land Sprites, just for the Upperland (Varrenia). There aren't many differences besides the physical attributes and location. Sky Sprites work in Varrenia as symbols of the sky-- usually they work as servants to higher powers in Varrenia, as teachers and prophets. Sky Sprites are very small but are a little bit bigger than Land Sprites.
Abillities:
  • Super Intelligence
  • Sky Sprites are known to be prophets. They can give blurry prophecies about the future/past.
  • Time Warping: Ability to turn back time, only about 2-3 minutes or so
Weaknesses:
  • When a Sky Sprite turns back time, they do develop the risk of getting stuck in a time loop (only super experienced Sky Sprites can Time Warp within periods).
  • Prone to overthinking, tends to panic in high-stress situations
  • Usually not trained in combat, therefore tends to avoid it at all costs

Dragon Riders: Dragon riders are Fae (not elementals) that have secluded themselves from Society to live in Varrenia. They are experts in training animals, riding them, and caring for them. Most of the time, Dragon Riders are heavily trained in combat-- even more so than the Fae that reside in Levianthia.
Abillities:
  • Dragon Riders are extremely skilled in hunting and combat.
  • They also have extensive knowledge of different species, animals, and plants.
  • Of course, usually Dragon Riders have 1-2 dragons at their disposal, and consider them family.
  • They are also Fae, so they have superhuman hearing and wolf-like instincts.
Weaknesses:
  • Dragon Riders do not have any magical abilities besides superhuman instincts.
  • They often hold grudges easily and are known to be natural hotheads
  • A rider is basically nothing without their dragon, and if the connection breaks (for whatever reason), they're typically left heartbroken.

Angels: Angels reside in the skies, usually coasting along on their large wings. Their appearances vary wildly, as it's commonly joked that angels simply will their appearance into being and stick what that. It's commonly accepted that angels are wholly benovalent and avoid harm, but sometimes certain angels just follow the letter of the law and say they've done their part. How much is benovalnce and how much is for show?
Abillities:
  • Angels are the official bearers of light. Not only can they weild the element, but they also create it. Angels are the keepers of the sun.
  • Dreamwalkers: Angels can appear in people's dreams. It is often the way they communicate with loved ones.
  • Angels also have the ability to manipulate electricial appliances. They tend to be able to mess with wires, or turn on light fixtures.
  • Flight
Weaknesses:
  • Angels are unable to tell lies. Their priciples reside closely with: Loyalty, Honesty, Pride. This, in the long run, is not a good thing if an angel decides to rebel/commit treason.
  • Grace Removal : An angel's grace is what supplies it with magic, and therefore if it is removed they will be rendered powerless and mortal.
  • Angel Warding -:Angel wards are sigils (spells) that can depower,an angel and/or prevent the entry of an angel in a certain location.

Moon Sprites: Moon sprites, like Land and Sky Sprites, are keepers of the the province they reside in (Xillia). Moon Sprites are the smartest Sprites of them all, having gone through numerous amounts of training to protect the moon. Moon Sprites are often used, utilized by Demons as servants and protectors. Moon Sprites are very rare to find, and are described as iridescent, glowing spirits.
Abillities:
  • Moon Sprites are able to use the stars/moon to their advantage. Moon Sprites are keepers of the moon, therefore they can determine the phases. (not good for vampires)
  • They are trackdogs, and can easily find an object by magic of navigation.
  • Since they are sprites (spirits), they are able to float through walls/floors, and are master easedroppers! (They can become invisible/unseen)
Weaknesses:
  • The Sun
  • Moon Sprites' tend to be super anxious, and have trouble keeping secrets! They are bubbly, talkative creatures who love to gossip.

Demons: No one remembers exaclty how the demons came to be, but some prophets say demons are fae who have gotten cursed by a higher power. It seemed like the only fae that got cursed were of the royal bloodline, except for the King of the Fae and his children. All fae that got cursed were exiled to Varrenia, where they will live out their days living alongside Pixies and Moon Sprites. Demons are humanoid fae creatures, with yellow/crimson eyes and big, black wings. Not all demons are bad, only those who hold grudges against the Fae Court for the exile tend to have evil tendences.
Abillities:
  • Demons are beings of judgement. They're able to see a person/species for who they really are, past all the exterior motives or the front a person puts up. (This goes for shapeshifters who try and mask themselves as other species, also. They can see right through it.)
  • Astroprojection: Demons are able to leave their physical bodies and travel into alternate realities/demensions/realms. This includes the afterlife.
Weaknesses:
  • They only have a short amount of time (say 2 minutes) to enter another realm and return back to reality, before they're trapped there indefinitely.
  • Any type of emotional connection-- Demons are known to be heartless individuals who usually reside alone. They are not a social species, and have trouble communicating/connecting with others.

Pixies: Pixies are exactly what they sound like: small, 'sprite-like' fairies that are usually known to cause trouble! Pixies have drangonfly-like wings that carry them from province to province. Pixies are known to play countless pranks on other species, especially Sprites. As for abilities, Pixies are known to shapeshift and are practically immortal.
Abillities:
    Flight
  • Shapeshifting
  • Immortality (can only be killed by decapitation)
  • They can move around usually without being noticed, due to their smooth and sneaky nature.
Weaknesses:
  • Very gullible, easy to manipulate, overly curious and easily fall into traps
  • They are small, and, unlike sprites, usually get injured if stepped on XD
  • Can usually convince someone to do something, even if they don't want to.

Naga: Often half human, half serpent with a human torso and the thick tail of the cobra. They have long fangs, and some have venom to use them for. The lucky ones can shapeshift into human forms or serpent forms. Most have venomous fangs, and the ones that don't have much stronger, thicker bodies. Stereotypes speak of their crafty nature and assume they would be more aligned with trickery and deception, but naga are just as diverse in their personality as anyone other species. Though, it's recommended you don't end up on the bad side of any.
Abillities:
  • Camouflage
  • Dermal Armor/ Scale Manifestation
  • Hyper climbing/crawling
  • Venomous bite
Weaknesses:
  • Water/Swimming
  • The cold
  • Naga also do not have the best smell, and will use their tongues (like snakes) too look for a scent.

Vampires: According to history books, vampires were populating the higher ranks of Dynalis before the King of the Fae lit fire to their camp for killing his oldest daughter. Because of this, almost every single Vampire had perished. Nobody knows how may vampires live in the world now, but some say they've seen sightings. An older Sky Sprite, a prophet, suggests that atleast three children were not accounted for after the fire: all siblings. The Vampire bloodline ends with them. Vampires, like Pixies, can also shapeshift and take forms of other species. They also have enhanced hearing.
Abilities:
  • Shapeshifting
  • Bloodsucking
  • Advanced Hearing
  • Speed
Weaknesses:
  • Lose strength and die without blood, can last one month or a full moon cycle
  • Blood usually triggers them, will cause a vampire to ravage or become animalistic.
  • Fire (This is how Vampires can die, besides being decapitated)
  • They burn really easily in sunlight, which can kill them if it gets too severe, easily prone to burns and sun related illnesses (heat stroke etc)

Queen Dante-Pool/Royal Quarter

Dante pulled her hand through the water, watching it filter through her fingers. The water pulled and pushed at her mermaid form. Her favorite spot was floating in the middle of the pool, just under the surface. Enough that if she blew bubbles up from her nose, it looked like she was home. The moon filtered through the open ceiling above her. It morphed, the form disrupted by the bubbles popping to the surface. It was a quiet night, the moon was full, the day had been long and sunny. Too sunny, Dante had felt like a fish left to dry on the rocks for most of it.

She righted herself, red tresses of hair falling straight and slick, clinging to the sides of her face. A maid stood, clearly impatient as she waited at the edge of the pool, holding the Queen's bathrobe.

"Is it time?" Dante whispered.

The maid jumped,"Your Majesty, it's been nearly an hour-"

"I was talking to the moon."

The maid remained silent.

Dante smiled,"It tells me tales of the sea," her smiled dropped,"...I must return to the sea."

This time the maid stepped forward, coming to the edge, "You cannot. It's your honor to serve the country."

The Queen sunk lower, lurking towards the maid. Her pearlesent green tail glimmering in the depths of the water. Her eys just peeked over the surface,"But, I shall die without the sea." Her words were lost in the bubbes that tickled her nose.

She wrinkled her face and lazily flicked her tail,"Leave. "

"Your majestly..."

"LEAVE!" Dante flung her hand up and out, commanding droplets of water, splashing the maid. The girl shrieked, dropped the bathrobe, and stomped out.

Dante pulled herself up onto the edge of the pool, flicking her tail until two feet kicked up water. The pearlescent glaze drained from her skin, leaving her renewed, like some faded version of her former self.

"They never believe me," The Queens deep blue eyes gazed longingly up at the moon, "tell my mother I said hello."

With a final sigh, she stood and wrapped the robe around, not bothering to dry her sopping wet, strung out curls. Droplets of water splattered across the tille floor, accompanied by the wet slap of footseps as she left the room.

The Queen had just entered her bed chamber when she stopped, something in her heart pinged. A strange tug, like a string being snapped on an instrument.

She tilted her head,"Hmmm, my dear husband needs comforting, I think."

A small silver patter of snacks lay on her neatly made bed, adorned in colors of the sea. The maids had grown accustomed to her spontaneous bouts of boredom and lonely musings, and therefore had started to leave snacks. Sometimes, it made her feel like a pet. A little animal that needed to be fed snacks. But maybe she was a cute pet. A cute pet with ittle red curls.

She giggled, "The king would like some comforting!" she hummed happily and swept the platter up.

The castle halls were empty, candles only lit the walls in sparse flickers. Dante stepped gingerly from one ring of light to the next, holding the platter so that it'd get as much light as possible. Everyone said the walls had ears, and if they had ears, maybe they had hands. but she'd never seen hands, or ears. So maybe it was only in the dark, when they could be seen. They couldn't steal the King's snack. Not her beloved husband's treat. She'd cut their hands off if they did.

A few leaps and skips later and the large doors of the kings chambers loomed in front of her. She balanced the platter on on hand and opened the door with the other, peeking her head in," Adam? Adammm, my dearie?" The room was dimly lit, the bed untouched, and the room quiet."Humm... is my dear husband playing hide and seek? Such slly land games." Nonetheless, she smiled gleefully.

Brushing the hair sticking to her face away, she crept about the room, peeking around curtains, all while balancing the platter this way and that. She' made it to the other end of the room when she noticed a light peeking out from under the bathroom door.

The queen Inhaled, excited. He was behind this. She could feel it.

Wait.

No, no she couldnt. She lifted her hand to her heart, confused. Nothing tugged, or pulled. She could just walk away, and feel... nothing?

"Adam? Love? I dont like this game anymore. I have food for you! Mother always said good wives bring their husbands food."

Dantes stood, feet growing cold and wet, waiting for an asnwer.

She started at the door, the door started back,"dont look at me like that!" She threw the plate at the door. crackers, cheese and small fruits scattering and staining it's pristine white wood. The Queen steppped forwad and yanked the door open," My Love, this is not--"

She froze..

Her heart skipped a few beats.

"Adam," some stale whisper made its way up her throat. followed by a choking sob,"Adam, this isn't funny. ADAM!"

The king laid sprawled on the marble floor of his own bathroom, staring blankly at the celing. His dead, cold hand gripped his shaving razor. His dark hair was slick with blood; his face was contorted into a terrified expression.

Dante dropped to her knee, grasping his face,"Adam. Dear-My Dear, please."

She pressed her hand to his heart. Nothing. she drew her hand back to her own heart, which was beating rapidly. Rapidly and alone. No connection anymore, just silence.

"ADAM!" Somehow, screamig felt like it'd wake him up.

It didnt.

The queen pressed her forehead to his, staring into his empty eyes."My love, where have you gone? I cannot feel you. Please."

Water dripped down her face and onto his, adding to the her wet hair that framed his drained face.

She stared. This was it. The moment 18 year old her dreamed of. Curse her. Her stupid teenage self. She heaved in a breath. No, this would not do. She kissed his hair and slolwy rose. He wouldnt simple die on her. Maybe he hadnt loved her, but they were connected.

She frowned as more tears trickled down her face,"No, NO this will not be. You cannot leave me like this. Everybody thinks I'm crazy. I'm not crazy. You've left me alone with these walls. The eavesdropping walls, Adam!"

Dante studied the king's frozen form, it was strange. His limbs were tiwsted at strange angles; his robe flopped to his side. Only half of his stubble was gone. It looked like he'd fell.

She gasped. He didnt die on his own. She almost smiled, he hadent left her by choice. It turned upside down again. He hadn't left her by choice!

"MURDER!" she sceamed, then slapped her hands over her mouth. The walls musnt hear. They mustent spread lies.

The Queen cast one final glance at her downed king, and marched out of the room, flinging her streaming red hair back. She would avenge her king. Who dare murder her love!?

The hallway seemed darker as she strode towards the throne room.

"GUARDS!" The command echoed off the walls, filling the throne room as she screamed untill they came running.

"My queen?" the captain stood, confused and uneasy. Avoding eye contact. She whirled to face him, and almost stated to speak. No, Adam always gave comands from his throne. She turned to look at it. His throne. She slowly walked up to it. Feeling the Knights confused gazes on her back.

Her hand slipped over the smooth, golden arm rest. The throne he'd never sit in again. Hers sat beside it, small and yeilding. She couldn't sit at her throne and give this order. It didnt line up with the door. It coudn't be left empty. She had to take his seat.

The Queen lifted her head, brushed her fingers through her hair, and sat. The guards stared, and she stared back. The only sound in the room was the water dripping from the ends of her hair.

What a strang fufilment of thier gossip. She must look like a crazydesheviled woman, wrapped soley in a bathrobe, with a boodnstained hem. Her famed, bright hair was tangled and damp as she sat posied at the golden throne she'd never sat on before.

For all they knew she'd committed treason. But no, she had not,. Someone, some sorry horrible person had dared lay a hand on her precious husband.

Finally the captain dared to venture again,"My queen, what is it?"

Dante closed her eyes and breathed. Was this how Adam felt? They addressed her and only her. She sat in the middle of the room. Centered. Yet alone.

She opened her eyes, drilling them into the captains. Some powered rage gathered in her chest. She could command the world if she wanted to. She was the Queen. she smiled. Let them look upon their so called 'Mad Queen'. She was alone now, and someone would pay dearly for it.

Dante breifly mulled over her command, the king had last met with the new recruits, they were his last contact. It MUST have been one of them! They'd come from all over, It wasnt unknown that not everybody loved the king of the Fae, much less her. But that was to be expected.

Well, they would soon learn the fury of a widowed Queen.

"I dont care if their sleeping, or sick, or..."she paused, fresh grief flooding her chest, tears pricked her eyes," Or dying!." She screamed, "Who cares if thier dying, bring them to me!"

The captain swallowed,"Y-your majest-"

The Queen stood suddenly and swung an accusing finger at the mans face. Something deep and dark soiled her speech,"I command you as your Queen," her voice grew louder ,"Summon the new recruits!"
I know my worth, anyone else opinion doesn't really matter

Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae

collab with @WeepingWisteria

Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae giggled softly to herself. This was exciting. Well being outside in general was really exciting, but this was especially exciting. Another little adventure. Finding a way to dispose of a petty little cockroach. It would be an awesome time. And she'd get to break like three or four whole rules. Killing your host. Who invited you because apparently you were a good warrior. She chuckled. She'd be able to tell this story for ages and ages. It'd be so fun. There would be so many cool ways to do it too. Such a youngling. She giggled again.

She looked up right as the castle she was flying to slowly swam into view. It was...mortal. So. She frowned. Such a temporary structure. Clearly meant for simple creature comforts and nothing more. She shrugged. It wasn't like she could've expected much better to be fair. This king was a young one. Hardly mature enough to be thinking genuinely long term. It took her a little while to reach the castle. The path seemed to stretch on forever.

At the gates, no one seemed to notice her, the guards staring steadfastly forward. She huffed. Can't even be bothered to look up. For the love of all that is blessed by the night, did they not know how to respect a visitor.

Another person sauntered up to the gates, tall and graceful. The guards immediately saw her and opened the gates. "Corporal Cherika the Distant, entering!" Cherika, as this stranger's name was, smiled at them with too long teeth and walked right in. "Oh, and, the moon sprite too." She waved her hand, nonchalantly, not even gesturing to Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae.

The guards looked up, looking thoroughly embarrassed. "Lady Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae, entering!"

She smiled politely. "Do be careful there lads." She flew faster to try and keep up with the woman, a little weighed down by her bag.

Thankfully, the woman seemed to slow down for her, changing to a leisurely stroll. She just about caught up.

"Thank you," she said warmly.

"Of course." Cherika looked to the side, not needing to look up to see her.

"Here for the king?"

"I am. You are too."

She nodded. "Yes."

"What for?"

"Hmm?"

"Why did he invite you?"

"To be fair I wasn't paying a lot of attention to that part of his speech. It was enough of a struggle to stay awake for the first part."

Cherika let out a small hum of approval. "Understandable."

Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae giggled. Cherika smiled, her teeth hidden this time.

"So why did her invite you?"

"Hmm. I'm the friend of a friend's... assistant."

"I see. Well you certainly seem a powerful warrior."

"That's probably because I am. But I'm assuming you must be as well."

"I wouldn't say so."

"Why so?"

She shrugged. "I'm just an old lil' sprite, hanging around."

"And the king invited you here to be a friend, then? I was so sure he was only sending invites for one thing today."

She huffed. "I'm sure he believes I'm a warrior somehow. But he's such a young little insect. He probably confused me with someone else."

"He is a child. But I doubt he's that stupid. Mostly because I doubt he was the one who invited."

She huffed. "Well you tell me how I'm an imposing warrior then."

"You're unimposing. You seem old enough to have picked up a method or two."

She gasped falling a few feet in the air. "You're calling me old? Well I never."

"Not many young people would call the king a 'young little insect.'"

"Well you agreed with my assessment and you don't appear old."

"Some would say I'm not. Others would say I am. I still have a lot of life yet. But I have plenty behind me."

"So you're old enough that some younglings would call you old but among your species you're hardly a teen. Got it."

"Hmm. It seems so. Though, I wouldn't say teen is the right word. Hmm. Fae don't have the language for it."

She chuckled. "They don't have words for a lot of things." She grimaced. "Urghh. So...naive."

"Definitely a limited species."

"Indeed."

"Yet, it's their king we may be serving." She hummed.

"I prefer to think of it as he's serving my desire for some good entertainment."

"That's a relieving way to think of it."

"Its the only way to think of it. How else does one exist around a little imp that thinks his voice is the greatest gift to this land since berries?"

Cherika shrugged. "I guess it depends on if you agree with him or not."

"Wow you've lived a long life among petty politics."

"I have. I know that most men find it easier to drop in worship than rise in resistance."

"Do they? I hardly notice the little critters sometimes. Always chattering about this or that, never knowing what's around them. That insufferable noise and the god awful smell." She shivered.

Cherika laughed. It flowed like honey but tasted like vinegar. "Yes. The noise. Their machines never stop. They steal away the night like it means nothing. Nothing is sacred, everything is exploitable."

"Hear hear sister. Well you've been far more interesting than the droning mosquitos from earlier. I like you."

Cherika hummed. "Thank you. I suppose my rambling is a... little more informed than that of the young." She looked back at Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae for a moment before looking forward again. "I find myself enjoying your company as well."

"Why thank you Corporal Cherika."

"Oh please, don't call me that."

"Then what do I call you, Fluffy Tail McStuffins?"

"Cherika works."

"As you wish Cherika Works."

"Appreciated, Lady Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae Plays."

"A sharp tongue and an agreeable demeanor. So you must be an angel sent to rescue me from this boredom?"

"That would be a shame. I was just hoping you would save me from my impulses."

"Oh and pray tell me why you think I'd do that?"

"Because I think spending a night in the brig would be the most boring of all."

Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae giggled, bursting into a little song. "A little poke here and a little poke there. Then the guards will take you and lock you over there. Poor little Cherika in a little cage, with nothing that she can hope to engage. She wants a little sprite, to tell her to be bright." She twirled in the air doing a little bow. "Well I suppose I could do that."

Cherika did a slow applause that Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae couldn't tell was genuine amazement or purely sarcastic. "Well then. You should stay close. We don't know how many insects are here."

"That can be arranged. You're the only interesting one I've spotted so far. And speaking of interesting things. I believe those are my lodgings for the night."

"Well then. Perhaps I shall see you another time." Cherika did a bow, holding her arm out in a way that made it feel very mocking. "Farewell."

She chose to respond with a genuine bow. "Perhaps. Farewell to you too, old young lady."

Cherika hummed in amusement and walked away. Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae watched her go with a little smile. That had been a rather pleasant interaction. Far more pleasant than any she'd had on her way her at any rate.

She danced her way into the room. Finding the key on the inside of the room she locked it behind her before setting her bag down on the adorable little dresser. It was a little bit larger than she'd probably be fully comfortable with, the bed being so cavernous too, but she didn't mind. It was far better than if they'd somehow produced something too small.

The room was quite pleasantly dark too, the perfect little chamber for her to catch a well deserved bit of rest before she had to face the insect in the morning. She groaned. She'd have to pretend to be all enamored with him and gain his trust or whatever. Urghh. Maybe she was finally getting too old for this.

She flitted about pushing around a few knick knacks to make the room to look...right. It didn't take long and soon she was contemplating falling into bed already when there was a frantic knock on her door.

She rolled her eyes and went to open it.

"The throne room. The queen requests your presence at once."

She huffed. Just when she'd been about to get a nice good night's sleep. The nerve honestly. She was just about to ask if it was strictly necessary when the ant spoke again.

"It is non negotiable. You must report now."

"Very well. I will be there."

The termite nodded in a very visible sigh of relief an ran off. Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae rolled her eyes and set off down the corridor.

Vyrl

Collabed with @JazzElectrobass

V wasn't quite sure why he'd been invited to be part of the king's guard. Perhaps the king had heard of his epic dusting skills. (Haha, yeah right.) Or the king had heard of him being accused of poisoning a prophet and had taken pity on him. (Highly unlikely.) Or maybe the king just wanted to collect a speciman from each species. (Hmm... That was more plausible.)

Either way, V was delighted to be away from that pretentious stuffy cloud called Varrenia. Gone were the days of being a servant to the prophets and teachers, rushing (or ambling casually) over to them at their beck and call! Gone were the days of dusting books every minute because of course they got dustier every second! Gone were the days of dealing with stupidity and (worse) stupidity covered by a thin layer of faked intelligence!

V sighed happily as he flew towards the castle. Yes, this was the dream. He'd float his way lazily through whatever tasks the king had for him, taking advantage of the food and books the castle surely had. It would be nice. Like a vacation.

As V approached the gates, he was drawn out of his leisurely fantasies when he noticed a sparkle in the air. "Hm?"

It was a ribbon, floating around. V squinted at it, then reached out and poked it.

"HEY!" A loud, feminine voice from the ribbon said. The ribbon twitched, one end moving like a head and faced V.

"Oh! Hello there. Who are you?" V asked curiously. "Not actually a floating snake, I assume."

The ribbon shifted into a small girl, with blonde hair and a blue dress. With dragonfly wings. "I've never met a floating snake. That is not me."

"I haven't either," V agreed. "But if you're not a floating snake, then..."

"I am not a floating snake." She declared, hands on hips.

"Oh, I know! You're a floating worm. My bad." V grinned mischievously.

"That's worse!" She paused. "I think."

V smiled. "You think? Pray tell, if you can think, would you mind thinking of your name and telling me? I imagine you're also a new recruit."

"Yes, I think I am a new fruit." She hummed

"Or a fruit. I suppose that works too." V raised an eyebrow. The guards were also stealing glances at the odd pair, though they tried not to show it. V didn't care. Let them have some entertainment; surely it was boring, standing there for hours on end. "Well, new fruit, are you excited to meet the king?"

"Yes, I think."

"You think. Do you ever know?"

"I know my name." She hummed.

"What is your name?"

"Ooooohhhhhh that's a pretty flower." She flew close the the ground to look at a flower. A dying one.

V nodded slowly. "Yes. Lovely. Especially the bit where one dry petal is hanging on for dear life."

"Yes, I think."

"I didn't particularly care about finding your name before, but now it seems as if you're avoiding the question." V thought for a moment. "Is it some kind of flower name? Should I try to guess it?"

"This flower is called a dianthus, I think."

"Oh, dianthus is a lovely name. Is that your name?"

"Dianthus is a lovely name. I know that."

V made a shocked expression. "Amazing! You finally know something!"

"I knew my name before I knew that."

"Mhm. Do you still know your name?"

"Yes."

"What. Is. Your. Name?"

"Dory."

V staggered backwards. "Woah! You did it! Now that wasn't too hard, was it? Yet you found it necessary to make me ask..." He counted dramatically on his fingers. "...five times?"

"Five is half of ten, I think." Dory said.

"Of course. Here's another fact: my name is V. And we are finally done introducing ourselves to each other, after only about a century, give or take a few seconds!"

"V. or Vee. One or Three?"

"It's one V, not three Vs. Three Vs would be Veeveevee."

"Well it could be a v and two e's, I think."

"I also think. But not in this case. Technically, it's Vyrl. V-Y-R-L. But I shorten it to the letter V."

"Vyrl is nicer than Veeeee." She declared.

V laughed. Dory had been rather annoying at first, but she was kind of fun, in a strange, forgetful way. "Why, thank you. Dory is better than Doreeeeee."

"The second one has more letters. Hurts my brain." She complained and flew higher, about a normal fae's eye level.

"Mhm. I think this conversation hurts my brain."

"The air is cold."

"What an astute observation. Shall we head inside?" V gestured towards the gates and the still-waiting guards.

She hummed. "Inside. I don't like confined spaces. I get stepped on more easily."

"Oh. I can see how that would be a problem. Would you like me to make you a sign that says 'Do Not Step'?" V said snarkily. Then he relented and continued, "Fine, if you need to, you can enter with me and I'll tell people not to step on you." He could relate to getting stepped on, metaphorically if not literally. It reminded him too much of his servant days in Varrenia.

She hummed, reluctant. "I'll go."

"Alright then." And the guards finally were given a chance to do their work, and they let the two inside, annoucing, "Vyrl and Dory May Beflickd, entering!"

Once inside, Dory set down on the floor to give her wings a break.

A maid entered. "Hello, Vyrl and Dory May Beflickd." Her gaze swept across the air a few times before finally finding Dory on the floor. "May I show you to your rooms?"

"I've never had my own room before." Dory said, messing with a strand of hair.

"Me neither." V remembered the shared rooms of the servants, always noisy and crowded. There were never enough books to go around, and the scholars didn't like sharing.

The maid took that as a yes and led the way down several hallways. She stopped in front of one and said, "Vyrl, you may use this room as your own for the duration of your stay."

V nodded. "...Thank you." He didn't say those words often, but having his own room was an unexpected luxury.

He turned to Dory. "Well, enjoy your own room as well, then."

"I don't know what I'd do with the space." She muttered, seemingly a little more coherent.

"Put books! Flowers! You should put that dianthus from outside in a vase or something. Or maybe just keep its remains in a safe place."

She looked up at him, and gave him a small, tentative smile.

V smiled back. "Well, goodbye then. I'm off to relax in my room. My own room!"

She waved, before following the maid to her room.

Then V opened the door and observed the small bed and bookshelf with a few books. "It's perfect. Actually, it could use more books. Okay, almost perfect." Then they faceplanted into the bed and sighed happily. Yes, it was the start of a (hopefully) long vacation.

Cherika the Distant
Collabed with @KateHardy and @Spearmint

Cherika had enjoyed meeting Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae. She was quite the character. It's definitely refreshing after spending so much time with... fae. She sighed, finding her way to her room and opening the door. It was an ornate thing, too much so for her tastes. The bed seemed to be only six feet long as well. Oh dear. And here she was, hoping the castle would be a break from the fetal position. Oh well, I'm sure some assistant didn't think about it. She set her bag down, stretching herself. It had been a day of very cramped train travel.

She looked around the room further. There was a door in the far corner. Having nothing better to do, she decided to peek inside. It was a much smaller room with coarse sand and a large rock. The ceiling was all windows. It was a sunroom, then. Good for basking. A nice bask did sound nice. Before she could make the conscious effort to transform, there was a rap on the main door. Oh well. It's not time to relax yet.

She turned back and opened the door.

"Corporal, you're summoned to the throne room. Effective immediately. Non-negotiable."

Before Cherika could ask anything, they were marching off—off to the next chump, she supposed. She rolled her shoulders and walked out into the hallway towards the throne room. It didn't take long until she ran into a familiar face.

"Well, hello there, Cherika Works."

Cherika didn't turn around. "Ahh. Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae Plays."

"Fancy seeing you here."

"I mean, we're all going to the same place, I assume. So it's more business casual."

"Actually, informal." A sky sprite strolled up to them, wearing messy clothing in shades of orange and blue. He grinned. "I'm V, and I'm here to ask your opinions on whether it's acceptable to be... mm... thirty minutes late? Possibly up to three hours?"

Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae chuckled. "Well, these pesky things seem to think three hours is quite a long time, so probably not."

"Ah, unfortunate. And what would be the consequences of being late?" V paced slowly up and down the hallway, admiring the wall artwork. "Cool place. Much better than boring old Varrenia."

"Mm. A little... chic for my tastes."

"A little overdone, but far better than one of the insect's speeches." Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae shrugged. "I suppose they'd throw you in the brig."

"The brig?" V made a thoughtful noise. Yes, that wouldn't be great. Say, have either of you seen any food or books?" Despite the summons he'd surely received, he seemed in absolutely zero rush to head to the throne room.

"I have seen my quarters, and that's all."

"Do your quarters happen to have any better books than mine? Mine only has a sad sheaf of falling-apart recipes and a bland Fae dictionary." V sighed dramatically.

"Hmm. Mine didn't have any books at all." Cherika hummed in amusement. "I wonder what that could mean."

Suddenly, V squinted at Cherika. "Not to be rude-- Actually, I don't mind being rude. You're not fae, are you? You look a little bit like fae, but also not really."

"Astute observation. What gave it away? The eyes? The fangs? Perhaps the height?"

"The hair, obviously." V laughed. "Why would you ever want to look like fae, though?"

Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae giggled. "Oh, you're funny. You're much better than the little critters that run about here."

Cherika just smiled. "I don't want to. That's entirely the point. But, legs are faster than no legs."

"Oh, I seeeeee." V drew out the "e" sound. "I love guessing games! No legs means a mer, siren, or naga."

"It does."

"Fangs. Siren or naga." V tapped his chin thoughtfully.

Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae did a little twirl, clapping excitedly. "We're getting closee. This is exciting."

"Now the question is, do you look dehydrated or not?" V peered at Cherika.

"I don't know. It has been a while since I've had water. Lady Plays, do I look dehydrated?"

"I'd say you look about average, not like a sopping wet cucumber or a crusty old tart. Perfect balance, Corporal Works."

"If Corporal Works has gone without water for a while and looks fine, at least according to Lady Plays, who probably has a better assessment than me, the correct answer is.... naga!" V twirled.

Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae did a little jig in the air. "And the answer is innnnnnn. Will it be right? Or will there be a frightt? Whatever shall it beeee?"

"Hmm. Pick a target."

V pointed at a painting of the Fae King.

Cherika bared her fangs and sprayed her venom across the Fae King's eyes.

V clapped enthusiastically. "Excellent! Simply fabulous!"

Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae beamed, joining in the clapping. "Absolutely fantastic. Burn the cockroach!"

Cherika bowed. "Glad to be of service."

"Ahh, I've been blessed with good company,"

"And I, as well! You two are much better than stuffy prophets." V smirked.

"Glad to be, V of the stuffy prophets."

"Who needs them, anyways?"

V nodded emphatically. "That's my question exactly!"

"No one worth speaking about. That's who."

"Yes. It is not to be mentioned, just like whatever happened to the Fae King's portrait, because nothing happened, obviously."

"We were never here, and we resent the question."

"What even is a portrait? Probably something silly the insects like to look at."

V started to stroll down the hallway, whistling casually as he distanced himself from the now-ruined portrait. Paint was running down the Fae King's eyes, making him look like a nameless terror from a nightmare. Cherika joined him, keeping her hands clasped. Sele-Elle-Anna-Lunae flew above them, hovering right around Cherika's head height. She danced as she went, occasionally bursting into song about whatever she saw.

Their little trio made its way down the hall until reaching a large, open set of double doors. Inside was the queen sitting on a golden throne, a small silver one beside it. Along the wall were floor-to-ceiling windows with heavy drapes, which only made the room colder. Cherika sighed. Being cold-blooded was rather a nuisance in these parts.

V stared at the queen for a moment, then when no one spoke, he said, "Where's the food around here?"

The queen glared at him, her robe dotted in blood.

"I wouldn't be surprised if the gilded cockroach ate it all."

She slammed her hand on her throne. "SILENCE!"

Cherika stood at attention. Whatever was happening, it couldn't be good.

Blue Tidecaller

°‧ 𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 ·。

In Collaboration with: @EllieMae

Calypso wasn't at one hundred percent, and Blue knew that. The look on her face as they walked into their room was that of pure dismay and desperation. Her friend sat at the desk in the corner of the room, staring down at the floor in her shapeshifted siren form, "You know, you can shift back when we're alone right?"

Calypso lifted her head slightly, "Yeah, I know. But not now. Who knows if anyone will pop in."

"Good point," Blue lifted her bag onto the white sheeted bed and sighed, pushing her midnight black hair behind her shoulder. Calypso had insisted she come with, as she wanted to see the person that killed her parents in person. Blue came only because it was an oppertunity for something new, and maybe those Elementals that had their way with her would pay. Maybe, just maybe, if they saw her face they'd feel guilty. Blue's appearance wasn't easy to forget, not many people could have amnesia regarding her peircing blue eyes or her tall, curvy figure. These Elemental men would be no different than the sailor's she'd lure back in the ocean.

Calypso stayed silent for the most part after that, still stuck in her position at the desk. Blue took it upon herself to move to the front of her, dropping into a casual squat to so that Calypso's eyes met hers, "Listen. I know you're scared, I know this is surreal. But we need to be strong. Okay?"

Calypso nodded, "Yeah, I know," she said again, "just missing them is all."

Blue and Calypso had been trekking the lands for years along with Calypso's brothers. They became a family. They hunted together, slept in the same den, and talked as if they'd known eachother their whole lives. Not having Ambrose and Draven here was new to her, and Blue knew that it'd be a diffcult process to go through-- separation wise.

Someone knocked on the door, and a guard's voice sounded through the expensive wood, "The Queen is requesting your attendance in the Throne Room immediately."

"Coming!" Blue glanced at the door and then back at Calypso until she could sense the guard's footsteps disappear. Just as he did, a loud bang sounded at the window, causing Blue to jump slightly and spin around.

A large, black swan was flying just below the windowsill.

Ambrose.

Of course, he'd come to make sure Calypso actually had something to eat. The bird was carrying a dead rabbit in it's beak, flapping its wings desperately in attempt to get the girl's attention. Blue rolled her eyes and rushed to the window, Calypso jumping up in the process. She unlocked the window and opened it, Ambrose flying in and dropping the dead rabit at Calypso's feet.

He nudged her legs with his long feathery neck and quacked in attempt to get her to eat. Blue could hear more footsteps outside the room, a hint that they need to get going. Quick.

"You eat," Blue whispered to her friend, "Meet me there."

Calypso nodded, caressing Ambrose's small head with her left hand. Before Blue could talk to Ambrose, she was outside and into the long hallways that were the king's palace. It was almost too perfect, the way the walls were painted a creamy white and the candles were too symmetrical with how they lined the walls.

The walk to the Throne Room was short, and it wasn't hard to find. She reached the long, red doors and assumed that was the location she'd been looking for. It wasn't even too far from her room, just down the stairs and through the ballroom.

When she pushed through the doors to find four other people already there, and all eyes were on her. She refused to look at the rest of them and took her place in the middle of the room. The queen sat there elegantly, a horrified and disgusted look on her face.

Well. That's not good.

Blue didn't know a lot of things, but she did know that the Queen was Mer. Blue's mother, Queen of the Sirens, told her to stay away from Mer. Did Blue listen? No. She wanted to be Mer more than anything, wanted to feel like she wasn't a freak of nature. Siren's were known to be hostile and manipulative, and maybe that was true, but Blue was more than that. She was not a Siren in her eyes.

She waited patiently for the Queen to start speaking, and soon she did, "Is everyone here?"

Kyris Sol and Isoldria Zephyrwing

A Collab By @Rose and @RavenAkuma

The grandiosity of the Fae King’s palace would surely be enough to leave the common person in awe, but for the burning yellow eyes of Kyris Sol, it meant nothing.

As a matter of fact, no part of the long journey from Xillia to Thebia had stirred an interest. No sense of wonder from the sights, no sense of anxiety for what awaited. He came with nothing but one black chest strapped to his back by a dark chain, and a head full of bitter thoughts.

Thoughts reminding him that he wouldn’t feel bad if he found this king beheaded in his own throne. His bloodied head, still bearing a gaudy crown, displayed on a platter for his disciples to gawk at.

Meanwhile, deeper in the woods, someone else was approaching with similar feelings of ill will.

The moon was high in the sky, its light illuminating the upper parts of the dark forest, but not within. Otherwise it would have revealed a cloaked figure moving silently through the forest, wary of any sound or movement.

Isoldria kept to herself as she moved through the forest, watching her every step as she gazed at the huge roots in front of her. Her face and pointy ears were covered with a piece of cloth, except for her bright violet eyes, which were surrounded by dark purple streaks as they searched for the sight of the gates of the ‘great’ palace.

Though she doubted there was anything great about it in its entirety, in her eyes it would look much better in crumbles on the cold, hard ground, without a single piece of ridiculous 'grandeur' to be seen. It would look even more majestic with the lifeless body of the king lying on top of it, with blood dripping from it. Hmm, how satisfying.

Suddenly, the sound of footsteps interrupted her thoughts. She stopped in her tracks and looked around with eagle eyes as a shiny piece of sharp metal appeared in her hand from under the cloak.

She carefully listened to the rhythm of the footsteps, quietly walking towards the sound. With each step the sound became louder, interrupting the quietness of the woods. Isoldria’s hands slowly reached from behind a large bush, in one hand a serrated dagger and the other adorned with sharp pointy rings.

With a swift motion, she seized the stranger from behind, locking her grip around his neck while pressing the cold metal of the dagger firmly against his throat.

The stranger didn’t move a toe, nor reacted to this situation as any person in such a situation normally would’ve.

The stranger asked in a blunt tone, "Are you done?"

Isoldria removed her grasp and held the dagger a few millimetres away from his left eye. She looked confused at first, no one had ever stood so calmly in such a threatening situation.

“Yellow eyes, black wings, what brings a demon like you to the... King's Palace?" she asked, her head tilted slightly and her voice dripping with hatred as she uttered the name of the palace's owner.

"The name is Kyris Sol..." With a flick of his finger, he moved the dagger away from his face. "And I assure you, this was not by my own will. I have no idea what situation this pitiful brat of a king finds himself in, but the Queen, apparently, has need of some 'new recruits,' including myself."

"You too, huh?" Isoldria asked as she spun the dagger in her hand and sheathed it.

She pulled the cloth covering her face away, revealing scars on her cheeks which were partially covered with streaks of purple liniment. "Isoldria Zephyrwing", she said, "but you can call me Isolde."

Kyris nodded. "Very well."

"Well then, Sol, shall we proceed?"

"That's the plan, join me or don't."

*****

As Kyris and Isoldria calmly approached the front gates, the row of guards along the path kept their eyes locked firmly on the duo. Kyris ignored them, while Isoldria rolled her eyes. At the gates, guarded by an additional two guards, an attendant had just stepped out with a clipboard. They seemed more alert upon spotting the newcomers.

“Halt!” One guard exclaimed. "Fae girl, state your purpose and why there's a Demon with you."

"Fae girl, is it?" Isolde remarked with slight sharpness to it. "Well, it's not every day I'm greeted with such charm. As for my reason for being here, let's just say I've been extended an invitation by your 'esteemed' king. As did Sol here."

The other guard already reached for his sword. "Okay, your summons makes sense, but not the Demon. It doesn’t understand our tongue, and regardless, it's not meant to be here. This has to mean trouble.”

The attendant spoke in exaggerated words and gestures, “You are not supposed to be here!”

As the duo continued their casual approach, Kyris pulled a small book from the inner pocket of his long, dark coat.

In perfect Levianthian -and a very mocking tone, he recited, “‘Embedded within the rich state of Thebia, coequal to the gem of a coronet, lies the Fae King’s castle. Nay painting couldst possibly replicate its divine structure, nay tale couldst capture its infinite detail, and nay song couldst replicate the sound of the wind as it runneth through its spires and gardens, better than even the song of the siren folk. Only the naked eye couldst ever beholdeth its glory in full, and weepeth with joy and faith.’”

Isoldria unsubtly laughed at that description. They both knew how ridiculous it was.

As they stopped before the nervous attendant, the guard drew his sword fully. Isoldria barely refrained from unsheathing her own weapon. In response, Kyris closed his book with an unamused expression.

“And I thought only fiction could be so exaggerated,” Kyris muttered. “Nevertheless, just as my companion has stated, I am here by your own rules, and my quite reluctant agreeance to answer the call of your royals.”

“No one would have called upon a Demon!” The attendant exclaimed.

“Indulge me…” Kyris pointed one claw-like nail to the clipboard. “Is the name ‘Kyris Sol’ not on this list of yours?”

“Hah, we’ll see. I doubt the Queen would ever…”

The attendant trailed off, and his eyes grew wide while staring at his list. Kyris felt amused by his frustration, to the point he almost managed to smirk.

Isoldria rolled her eyes at the guard's surprised expression. "Oh, what a revelation. But hey, who's keeping score? Oh right, me."

“Hmph…” The attendant bitterly marked something on his list. “V-Very well. Stand by.”

The guards stepped forward and opened the gates. As the Fae and Demon stepped inside, the attendant went in behind them, stepping to the side of the door.

He announced loudly and clearly, “Madam Isoldria Zephyrwing and Sir Kyris Sol, entering!”

Dory May Beeflickd

Dory hummed, walking around on the ground. Anytime someone would nearly step on her, she'd scream at the top of her lungs at them. She complained about being small. But she also loved it. Just when people weren't stepping on her. She would exact revenge on those who stepped on her. That is, if she could remember them. She didn't remember much. She remembered a few important detals here and there.

She was tired of walking, so she turned into a ribbon and floated around. She didn't want to go inside. She knew of bad memories. She didn't know what they were. So she floated around as a ribbon. Until she was poked by a monstrous cloud. Hey, it was kind of in the shape of a being. Is it sentient. EIther way, it's rude to poke someone. "HEY!"

"Oh! Hello there. Who are you?" The cloud asked curiously. "Not actually a floating snake, I assume."

"I've never met a floating snake. That is not me." Being a floating snake? Such a silly thought! Ooooohhh pretty flower. It's rude to leave a conversation, so I'll just talk while trying to admire the flower from a distance.

Nope. It's not working. Pretty flower......

--------------------------------------------------------------------

She returned to reality once more as Vee turned to face her. "Well, enjoy your own room as well, then."

"I don't know what I'd do with the space." She muttered. What would she do with space? She never had her own personal space before. At least not that she could remember.

"Put books! Flowers! You should put that dianthus from outside in a vase or something. Or maybe just keep its remains in a safe place."

She looked up at him, and gave him a small, tentative smile, which she didn't remember the last time she smiled genuinely. She decided she liked him. In a friend way of course. He'd be a good friend to stick with. This was one of the few things she'd do her best to remember.

V smiled back. "Well, goodbye then. I'm off to relax in my room. My own room!"

She waved, before following the maid to her room. Her room was, nice, she guessed. She didn't know what would be considered good or bad. She liked it though, and that was all that mattered to her. She questioned about taking that flower and putting it in here. But then she'd never leave her room as long as it was here. Pretty flowers could just hold her under a spell. She poked the thing in the corner. It was springy. and there was a layer of fabric covering it. What was it? Dad? no. Bad? yes. Wait, no. Well, maybe. No, not bad. Bed! No, wait. No, wait no, yes. Bed. It's what people normally sleep on, she thinks. Sleep sounds good right now. There, that's a tall place, looks comfy. She flew up to the top of the cabinets in her room, and laid down. She closed her eyes to fall asleep.

Her eyes opened. She could not sleep. She got down and walked around her room. What could she put here? She couldn't read. Never needed to. She could just ask someone. Maybe she could put that flower here. She walked out, and started to wander about, as she didn't remember how to get out.
