Swearing, I chase after her and encase her in my arms again, "Stop, Jules. Stay grounded."

Juliet

I swallow, struggling again, and breathe heavily, "I-I need blood."

Preston

I don't let her go, "Then take from me. It won't be as good, but it'll be enough."

Juliet

I shake my head, "I-I need human blood," I hiss, struggling more.

Preston

Nic comes in the door just then and I jump up and grab the bags of blood, handing them to Juliet.

Juliet

I take them and slide down the wall, feeding.

Preston

Exhausted, I slide down the wall next to her and shake my head. Nic leaves without a word, looking to find Jackie.

Juliet

I take a deep breath when I finish and hand him the leftovers.

Jackie

Hiding in the kitchen, I swallow when Nic comes, "She okay?"

Preston

I thank her and feed from whatever's left, wiping my mouth when I'm finished.

Nic

I nod and wrap my arms around her, "I think so. I'm going to have Preston and her stay in the basement though. Just to be safe..."

Juliet

I bite my lip and close my eyes, sighing.

Jackie

I kiss him quickly and nod, the baby crying. I moan and walk upstairs. Just ONE moment of silence. That's all I need.

Preston

I set the bags down and glance at her, taking a deep breath.

I hesitate before chasing her up there, beating her to the room and taking the baby in my arms. For all I know, she almost was killed while I was gone. I can change a diaper... maybe.

Juliet

I swallow, the sun coming up.

Jackie

I watch him beat me there and shake my head at him, leaning against the doorframe, "Good luck with that."

Preston

I take Juliet's hand and lead her somewhere dark, down to the basement.

I smile and look back at her, "You think you could, like, read out instructions for me?"

Juliet

I follow him, glad there's no windows.

I shake my head and walk towards him, "I'll do it. Just go pick up Bryce from school for me."

Preston

I close the door behind us and lead her down in the dark.
