Ruby

I see the police outside, my father the cheif, and groan inwardly. And the king has arrived...

Dylan

I slip the book back in my jacket and cross my arms over the bar, trying to remember everything Roan had said to me about that place.

Ruby

They burst through the doors, my father's eyes landing on me, and he strodes his way over, studying Dylan as he does, "Where on earth have you BEEN?!" He exlaims, his eyes turning red like they always do when he's mad, "And why...are you not in you gown?" He tries to calm himself. I swallow.

"Because I'm not in Pearl right now..."

"That's BULL!" He yells, making me flinch as he looks at Dylan, "Who in Pearl's name are you...?" He asks, glancing back at me.

Oh no....This is not going to end well.

Dylan

I study the man before swallowing and composing myself, "Dylan McCann. I don't see why that matters though."

Ruby

My dad freezes, his eyes melting back to purple, "McCann?" He asks, looking at Dylan, "Do...Do you have a brother, perhaps?"

Dylan

My heart leaps in my throat, nodding, "Y-you know him? W-where is he?"

Ruby

My father looks at me for a second, my heart still beating a mile a minute, before looking back at Dylan, "He...He's in Pearl...He works in the kingdom."

"See!" I laugh. My father covers my mouth, "No talking."

I glare at him before crossing my arms, amazingly annoyed.

Dylan

I flash a smile and almost laugh in hysterical relief, "C-can I... I want to see him."

Ruby

My father sighs, "Very well," He says before looking back at me.

"You..." He hugs me, "Got me worried sick."

I don't know what to do, "Um...Yeah...I'm here. You're gonna kill me if you hug me any tighter."

He chuckles before letting go, speaking to some guards from Pearl.

Dylan

I flash a smile and finger the notebook under my jacket, not able to believe that Roan is okay and in reach. He said something similar would happen... But... god, I'm an idiot for not believing anything he said.

Jackie

I sigh and walk into the tavern, Rayah running infront of me. Her long white hair goes down a braid down to her waist and she's singing some weird song I've never heard before. I take a deep breath and plop down a table, watching her bother random people. Jesus Christ...I'mma die...

Nic

Holding onto my little brother's shoulder, I guide him into the tavern and up to the bar. I sit down and have him take the stool beside me, helping him up. Glancing around, I keep my sunglasses on and order a pair of sodas.

"Niccy," Jace tugs on my sleeve, "Hungry."

Jackie

Some guys walk in and I look back at Rayah, but glancing away in that moment she decides to light a chair on fire. Groaning, I hurt over to her and steal a glass of water from the bar, putting it out. Rayah starts histarically laughing and I cover her mouth, scooping her up and bringing her over to the table, "Will you ever just behave?" I ask quietly. She doesn't answer, playing with her braid, and I wonder why Jess made me do this...

Nic

I glance at the little girl who lit the chair on fire before glancing back at Jace and ordering some breakfast for him. I have the money... right? Searching my pockets, my heart sinks when I realize what I'll have to do again. Jace looks at me, humming, and plays with his glass.

Jackie

Exausted, I leave Ray at the table and walk up to the bar, my dad telling me that to calm down, he'd always drink.

"Scotch," I order, "Actually, two please," I say, taking out the money. The bartender raises his eyebrows at me.

"How old are you?" he asks.

I glance up at him, "Fifteen. Almost sixteen. Now give me my godd*mn drinks before I freak."

He doesn't hesitate. I glance back at Rayah, finding her playing with my phone. Just kill me now...
