I glance at her, "W-what are you talking about? I-I... Y-you want out of this... whatever we are?"

Halee

I shrug, "I don't want to be fighting. And...I don't know how we can start over."

Lucian

My eyes water and I look away to hide it, "I-if we love each other, how do you figure we can't?"

Halee

I bite my lip, "After everything...I just...I just don't know."

Lucian

I swallow, "W-why can't we just focus on the good? Why... why does any of this have to matter?"

Halee

"We could...but it'd be hard," I tell him.

Lucian

I swallow again and stand, shaking my head, "If we're just going to jump ship when things get hard, I guess I'll pack a bag then. You seem pretty set on being... on the end of this."

Halee

I raise an eyebrow, "Fine. Be that way. Have a nice life," I shake my head in disbelief before running out of the door and to the gardens. I never said anything about giving up when things get hard. I just said that It would be hard.

Lucian

I hesitate before heading upstairs and following through with what I said, shaking from the emotion I refuse to let loose.

Halee

I sigh and plop down in the flowers, crying my eyes out.

Lucian

I stop for a moment and take my head in my hands, wiping my eyes.

Halee

I swallow and try to relax. I-I love him...

Lucian

I sit on my heels and stare at the bag before me. I-Is this really what she wants? Or is this what the voice wants me to think she does? Am I even thinking clearly?

Halee

My hands tremble and I tangle them in my hair, my wings draping below me.

Lucian

I swallow and glance out the window, wondering whether I should go to Halee.
