APRIL MADNESS 2022

Hi folks! April is just around the corner, which means it's that time of year again - time to sign up for April Madness! This contest has been part of YWS's NaPo tradition for many years, and everyone's invited to join in.

What is April Madness?
Poets face off to determine who the best YWS poet of the year is! The competition is composed of a series of rounds, and in each round opponents enter a poem to compete against other poets' submissions.

Sign-ups are open now until April 4th!
Leave a message in this thread in order to sign up! Groupings will be announced April 5th.

@Seirre, @LizzyTyler, @Meshugenah, @looseleaf, @QueenMadrose

The Rules
1. All poems must be written in April.
2. Poems can be written in any genre or length.
3. Poems must be submitted in this thread (either the poem or a link to it) by the deadline for each round. If there is a conflict, please message me as soon as possible. If you choose to edit your poem after initially submitting it, please indicate at the top of the post that it's been edited.
4. Poems may not be reused from previous rounds, unless it's a poem used for the final round.

What will the contest look like?
This will be a bracket-formed competition, as viewed here. (Note that that template is arranged as though there are 20 contestants, so it may look slightly different depending on how many people enter this year.)

The past two year's April Madness threads can be seen here and here for examples!

This sounds like fun, I'd like to give it a try!

And a quick question-- are the poems for each round prompted or just whatever we feel like?

@Stringbean yay! And good question - there are no prompts, so it's just whatever you feel like.
