Which movies are those, pray tell? Mario? That was over a decade ago.

But I guess the Halo movie will be pretty good, since its directed by Peter Jackson.

Rent doesn't count. Its a theatrical adaptation of a broadway play.
I liked the mortal kombat movie. the first one, Ive never seen Doom, though Id like too.
Alone in the Dark and House of the Dead were all games that were adapted from previous work- so the movies were based off of that, and not the video game.
I detest peter jackson. And the fact that he is doing halo kind of pisses me off. I would like to have seen someone with a little less pretention take on the work. His movies are overly dark, and criptic. He started his career with B line horror movies, and the Lord of the Rings was the first non B movie he ever made. And he over sells EVERYTHING. holy crap. Primary release, secondary release, secondary release WITH collectable figurine, secondary release with collectable script, primary release with collectable figurine... And the games that his production company puts out are worse than Lucasfilm LTD. (Which is who he is taking after with his production company in new zealand that handles every aspect of the released media.)
HALO would be much better off, and would stay to the original idea a lot clearer, if it were done by someone in the states. Not steven spielberg, hes ruined enough potentially good alien movies.

best alien movie? Hard to say. It would have been easier if you just said what is the best movie in the Alien franchise.
I'd have to say Avatar, just because the graphics were so breathtaking.
"Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” -John 11:25-26
There are two kinds of folks who sit around thinking about how to kill people: psychopaths and mystery writers. I'm the kind that pays better. ~Rick Castle
I absolutely loved the original "The Day The Earth Stood Still".
The new version with Keanu Reeves is a disgrace to the old classic masterpiece. If there has to be a Best Alien Movie then it has to be from the 60's which spawned the best Sci-fi ever out of all the decades.
