The YWS Grand Re-Opening Storybook!

Everything is simply more grand with a Storybook! And since we all want the YWS to be grander, let's all join today's commemorative storybook, the The YWS Grand Re-Opening Storybook!

To simmer your interest, take a look at this premise:
The celebrations for the Grand Re-Opening have just got under way, when there is an attack on the YWS Base!

The YWS Base was recently re-located from Mars to London, during the YWS Invasion, and members from all over the world have gathered to celebrate the awesomeness of their favourite site.

But from out of nowhere comes The Nothing. They are a hive mind people who have traversed the galaxies, removing planets in their wake. They come from nothing and they are nothing and they un-do the very substance of creation itself.

The Nothing are drawn to creativity and when all the members of YWS are gathered in one place, how can they resist? And so they come, but will the creative warriors of YWS prove too valiant and powerful for them?

Who can save YWS? Who will destroy the void of the Nothing. WHO WILL JOIN THE STORYBOOK? I know I will! So you, too!
Need some feed? Then read some! Take a look at today's Squills at In the News.

April Madness?

Hey. All the poets. There is an interesting thing for you.

Check out the April Madness...

Here's what Nate has to say about it.

Nate wrote:April is National Poetry Month. As part of that, you can do NaPoWriMo, which involves writing a poem every day (it can be a haiku).

But, I was forwarded the idea of also doing a poetry tournament by a friend of mine, and it sounds intriguing. Here's the description:
http://www.ncte.org/lessons/poetrytourn ... 3e6454e00&

Not quite sure how it'd work online, and God knows I don't want to do any programming for it. But, anyone want to make a go at doing this? We'd probably need a greenie to run the actual thing, but I think we can all bash our heads together to figure out how to make it work... if it's something people want to do, that is.

It's a knockout and the game will go something like this,

A Call To Arms

The Knights of the Green Room need your help!

The forest around the grove is unnaturally quiet. From the mountain nearby, a keen-eyed tracker looks down and sees that all animal paths avoid this region, sweeping North or South so often that the deer and pheasant have drawn a circle around the grove that hides the lock.

What is The Mysterious Object Behind the Lock?

No one knows. It's hidden beneath a boulder too large for any one Knight to move, in fact, too large for any less than twenty-five knights and their steeds to move. Alas, the number of the KotGR is too little. Enlist today, join their ranks, uncover the object!

Grand Re-opening Schedule!

Nate says:

March 24 - Pro-account re-introduction and free bookmark giveaway! Although everyone will be eligible for a free bookmark no matter where they come from, it'd be helpful if even just a few people from outside the US sign up for a pro-account when those are available (donations will also be available). This is due to the cost of postage. At any rate, the bookmark giveaway will last through the end of the month.

March 26 - Better portfolios! You'll be able to add cover art and upload attachments to each folder.

March 28 - Achievements! Initially, these may be restricted only to Knights of the Green Room, but more achievements will be added over time.

March 30 - Undisclosed secret game! This is probably the most advanced programming I've ever done, and while it's completed already, it's very buggy. But trust me. It's worth the wait.

March 31 - Review Day!
