The forest around the grove is unnaturally quiet. From the mountain nearby, a keen-eyed tracker looks down and sees that all animal paths avoid this region, sweeping North or South so often that the deer and pheasant have drawn a circle around the grove that hides the lock.
The lock. The legend never says who first discovered it, who wandered in the Outer Lands accompanied by so much luck as to stub his toe on the rock with the golden keyhole. The rock is buried tight in the ground, as if the soil around is sucked to it. No shovel can break through the web of grass roots there. And yet all is not lost.
Only a few moons ago, one of the Knights of the Green Room stumbled upon a key at a local market, sold by an exceedingly unsettling old man who urged the Knight to head to the Outer Lands if he wanted to make his gold really count. The old man added his agreement to the rumor that beneath the rock was buried a treasure of great value and mystery. He winked as if he really knew something.
So, the Knight quickly set off in search of glory. To the Knight's chagrin, however, it was found that while the key loosened the the hold that the earth had on the rock and whatever was buried beneath it, the rock itself remained too heavy for one person to remove.
And so this is where the mission stands. This Knight estimated to their brethren, that it would take at least twenty five bodies and a supporting host of horses to wrench this rock up once and for all.
The Knights of the Green Room currently number twenty three.
It takes only ten recorded reviews from the Green Room from the time of proposed knighthood to join the ranks.
We are waiting.
