Rope - I don't know why this one. It just kind of leapt out.
Kitchen Knife - I'm paranoid
Life raft - I drift
Life jacket - For after the raft's collapsed
Two day supply of water - Water ranks pretty high on my priorities
So we sink, so we die, we cannot live forever.
"TV makes sense. It has logic, structure, rules, and likeable leading men. In life, we have this."
1.) Life raft- to stay afloat.
2.) Life jacket- just in case i get turned over.
3.) water- its proven you can only go so lon gwith out water! (hint: you can go longer without food than you can water)
4.) grain- gotta have something to eat right?
5.) signal flares- to signal for help!
Okay, two things before I start. First, that grammar mistake in the title is hurting my eyes. You got? *shudders* Secondly, I shall find loopholes in this exercise.
1. Life raft: I can stay afloat, and you never said how far away from land I am; there is a very possible possiblity that I am close enough to get to land.
2. Kitchen Knife: These things can be very sharp, and can kill fish and stuff when I get to said land.
3. Two Day Supply of Water: Whole water vs. food thing, besides, I'd have fish.
4. Freeze dried ice-cream: While on my awesome island, I would want something sweet to eat.
5. Pen: If I'm going to live there, I HAVE to be able to write.
Okay, I kind of cheated there, but you never said we had to get off the ocean; just that we had to survive. *Hugs loopholes*
- Rope, because you can get food with a rope (once on land), you can build a shelter with it's help. In general, you need rope. - Kitchen Knife, because sharp objects are good for living. - Parachute. Hmm. An object I could use for catching food either on land or at sea, and can make a shelter or insulator on either as well. Great for holding things, hmm. - Life raft. Yes, defiantly. I swim like a rock. - Two day supply of water. Water is good, and until I can get onto some land, I can't boil water. I'll need some until then.
I didn't choose __________ because ____________.
-Compass. Yeah, I chose something else. - Freeze dried ice-cream. What a strange object to bring. Why was it on the list? If exposed to water, it'll be garbage, and it would give you an energy lift, but like caffeine it would drop you lower afterwards. - Scissors. A kitchen knife is already a single blade, with a handle meant to be grasped. - Pen. You can always carve with your knife. - Life jacket. I figured I had better chances with a raft. - Navigation Chart. I don't know anything about ocean currents. - Week supply of grains. You can go for longer without food than you can water, and I could eat fish if I can catch them with the parachute and rope, or seaweed if I get desperate and can find some. - Mirror. It won't do any good to be found dead, and you can deal with getting something in your eye. - Signal Flares. Same as Mirror. Except for the eye part. - One-way Radio. Which way?
We count the bad things in life because it's a number we can manage
We don't count the good things because the number would be too big for comprehension
If I had something to say... I'd tell someone else. :)
Nothing. If something like that really happened I would have everything I needed in my pockets. Half of the stuff would be ruined by the water anyways, and I went through survival training so I can survive going 80 days out at sea with no boat, food, water or anything else. I've done it before. Just use natural resources like hand-caught fish and you'll be fine. And I have a very good sense of direction so I wouldn't get lost.
- Compass Heading in one direction is better than no direction. - Freeze dried ice-cream WTH? - Rope Useful but other priorities. - Scissors Knife is better. - Kitchen Knife Very useful for heaps of stuff. - Pen See scissors. - Parachute Also very useful (sail, blanket, net, signal on windy days (ocean can be rather windy). - Life raft Stay warmer and not drown. - Life jacket Raft is more helpful. - Navigation Chart Can't use it - Two day supply of water We need water to live. In the assumption that it is two days worth of average amount of water drank in two days, so it can be rationed to last longer, so that's four extra days of life. And if the containers are watertight, they can be used to float if anything happens to the raft. - Week supply of grains Water first. - Mirror Not good for signalling at night. - Signal Flares How many? It was either this, compass, or radio. - One-way Radio See above, battery powered?
- Compass - Freeze dried ice-cream - Rope - Scissors - Kitchen Knife - Pen - Parachute - Life raft - Life jacket - Navigation Chart - Two day supply of water - Week supply of grains - Mirror - Signal Flares - One-way Radio
This was hard, Nate... I could never make this fast of a decision in under 30 seconds. I'm totally gonna be the first to die. xD
“I can't go back to yesterday because I was a different person then." - Lewis Carroll
Compass - happens to have a lense on it Knife - duh, use it to make anything (read tunnel in the sky) Life raft - duh, plus it has the parachute in it (why would I need a parachute in a boat? I keep it there just in case) Parachute - blanket, fuel, sail, cut rags off to tie things, sun cover? Water - the bottles can be used to distill more water Mirror - firestarting, keep fire on it while in raft, signal, personal hygiene
The parachute is not like the others, you might use most of the others on a daily basis, but the parachute, you would never need it, never use it, never disturb it, never lose it
If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face - forever. George Orwell
- Kitchen Knife (If I get desperately hungry I can try and catch something.) - Life raft (Because...) - Compass (I was going to say I could use the sky to navigate. But if there's a storm it could be cloudy...) - Two day supply of water (I don't wanna die.) - Mirror (I was going to pick signal flares, but they will run out eventually. A mirror will signal for centuries if you can hold it that long.)
I bought acactus. A week later it died. I got depressed because I thought Damn, I am less nurturing than a desert. -Demetri Martin
Grains--Food, yo. You never know how long you'll be without food. Raft--Um, duh? Water--Essential. Signal flares--I need to be rescued somehow... Knife--I get scared sometimes and I can catch food with it. Fish, anyone? XD
