I run down the stairs dragging my bag behind me. I just woke up! But I'm already running late! With a rushed hello to my mum, I run out the door and sprint up the lane towards Oak's lab. Today I can finally get a Pokemon! That's if I didn't completely stuff up my chances by sleeping in. I know that I'm not the only person in town who's supposed to get a Pokemon today... I reach lab in record time (for me anyway) but pause at the door to take a deep breath before I push the door open and step inside.

Don't be sorry your darkness is gone. I'll carry it for you. Always. I'll keep it with mine.
"Hello! You're late! Looks like all of the Pokemon are taken!" I press a button on a remote, and a table with one pokeball comes out. "This Pokemon is dangerous! Make sure to be nice to it!" I hand the Pokemon to whatever your name is.
"Looks like all the pokemon are taken!" Says the professor and my heart almost stops. "Bu-ut-" He presses a button on a small remoted and a table appears from nowhere. On it... is a Pokeball. "This Pokemon is dangerous! Make sure to be nice to it!" I take the pokeball quickly. It's a bit heavier the I though but it's cool. I have a pokemon! I have a pokemon... Though I still don't know what it is. I press the button and there's a huge flash of light...

I swag right on in there right as my childhood friend let's out their incredibly lame Pokemon. "Please," I say, "He gave me a much better Pokemon. But I guess you won't understand that until I beat you in battle. GO CHARMANDER!"
