As you may remember, or most likely not, sometime in the Summer an epic storybook named 'SIS - Epic Storybook' was created by a certain BenFranks. It ended a mere 13 days after starting aided by confusion, poor grammar and antics that John Sawers would shake his head at. This event was a sad one, and in no way the storybook's fault.

So, we're starting it back up again. Apart from the background and initial plot, this isn't affiliated to the first storybook - you don't have to have been in the first one to join now, and if you were then you definitely don't have to have the same character (unless you want to). Onwards!


Background

The British international secret intelligence service was born as a result of War security. Over the years it has changed from being Military Intelligence 6 (MI6) to it's new and modern name, "Secret Intelligence Service". It has also gained good relations with foreign Intelligence agencies, such as the CIA and GIGN in the USA and Germany.

Storybook Plot

The world is on the brink of World War III. The British intelligence service has been the most successful, longest running, international intelligence gatherer, field agent and assasin, in the world. The time has come for the elite of the SIS to be put on the field. A group of Secret Agents who have been flown over to the R.E.A.F (The Russian & Eastern Asian Front) to gather intelligence. Here they've set-up a base of operations disguised as a bookshop. You're a member of this team. However, they also have enemies in the South, threatening to use a Nuclear deterent if they don't get their demands of resources of oil, food and arms. Will the SIS be able to stop WWIII?

Your mission as a member of the SIS Elite Group:

There are many REAF officials circulating Russia and China, with the odd few in Japan. Your job is to assasinate/gather information or bug any of these in order to prevent a Nuclear war. However, at the same time, you're a community. You fight together daily and live in close terms, all on the first floor of the same book shop for a start! So relationships are also very important.

REAF: Aggresive history. China is ready to blow and Japan is majorly paranoid. This is the closest force to starting a nuclear war. Johnov Potrenski is the most protected man in the World.
STD: Extremely peaceful and diplomatic. However, they're lacking resources and have resorted to threatening nuclear war if they don't get necessities to live.
UNFD: Powerful, but unwise. UNFD rarely acts according to intelligence received and President Obama is on a quest for undeniable strength and power. The CIA sometimes interfere with SIS affairs, corrupting intelligence to their benefit. At points, the SIS will have to work against the CIA.[/quote]

We'll take a look at your profile and see if there's anything you can do to improve it. Please try to make a character who is interesting and will really add something to the Storybook. (Also, even if you were in the previous storybook, please PM your profile anyway.)

When Posting:

Posts need to have good grammar, as always, and be well written. Although longer posts are good, go for quality over quantity as usual, please. Most importantly, try to retain at least some continuity. Wait to post, read carefully over all previous posts and don't make someone else's character go against their personality for your own purposes. Lastly, please try to keep within the bounds of reality when posting - your character is a spy, and therefore cannot wave a gun about in the middle of the shop or randomly scream secret plans out whilst walking down the street.

Appearance: Hair usually slicked back, an easy smile and a permanent five-o'clock shadow for the roguish look. Tall, with broad shoulders, tanned skin, simple and practical clothes. His stance is always very casual and relaxed.

Personality: The quiet, sarcastic kind of guy. He may appear laid-back and harmless most of the time, but when the circumstances demand it he is absolutely ruthless and shows no hesitation in getting things done, no matter the cost. It can bring him to take extreme measures, which isn't always a good thing in his line of work, and sometimes needs to be reined in by the others. Tendencies for overkill aside, he keeps his cool under pressure and can be counted on to do his job properly.

Preferred Vehicle: Heavy vehicles - jeeps, trucks, tanks, etc.

Style: Sabotage

Skills/Weapons/Other: SIG Sauer P229. Good with explosives and mechanics.

Up for love: Go for it.

History: A pretty non-descript childhood; father served in the Army, he grew up around the military and enlisted after finishing school. Started out in the 1st Armored Division, 24 Commando Engineer Regiment, where he served for a few years before being transferred to the SIS when the war seemed more imminent and some more men were needed on the field.

Appearance (Description): Short, cropped dark brown hair, young of face. Pale, white and relatively tall. He comes across as quite a hard-thinking bloke due to his stance of putting his hands behind his back and looking downward as a detective may be seen to do.

Personality: Loving and kind first and foremost, thanks to his family man attitude he was raised in. However, he's never been married or had a wife; he's a player in the romance side, but his relationships never seem to last. He's a hard thinker, hence the fact he's the leader and will never kill someone unless he has to. He's also quite patriotic.

Preferred Vehicle:
BMWs or anything German.

Style: Stealth, if he has to. He prefers going undercover in operative situations rather than using his license to kill. Very rarely does he get involved, Guv'nor's a thinker and always has been.

Skills/Weapons/Other: Silenced Walther P99 9mm pistol. He can also adapt to a character quickly and therefore thrives in undercover operations.

Up for love: Yes.

History: Started in the army and by the time he was in his early twenties he had been fast drafted into the SAS. His rank rose quickly as his superiors realised his natural art as a team leader. However, by order of Her Majesty, he transferred into the SIS and has worked as a team leading Field Operative ever since. In terms of childhood, he loved the outdoors and had one good solid friend through school. Unfortunately his friend was killed and that sent him on a quest for justice ever since. Now his priority is to stop a war.

Appearance (Description): Long messy black hair, with dull green eyes, he's got a small moustache partially shaved with goatee. Often wears a bandanna, quite well built in his chest. Wears a light denim jacket over his uniform and has fractured his fingers a few time from recoil of his gun. Has a worn gang tattoo on his shoulder.

Personality: Outgoing and active. Drinks and takes a little pot but can handle himself in a situation. He can be impulsive and there has been times he overstepped himself. Loves hanging with his mates on days off. Plays guitar for fun and is quite flirty. Though it never really goes anywhere.

Preferred Vehicle: Call him old fashioned but he prefers a good ol' Harley Davidson

Style: For example: Stealth and Assassination

Skills/Weapons/Other: Sniper Trained also with a pistol silenced. Knows judo and can subdue most major threats. Has a ideal street sense growing up in them.

History: Born in the USA his family emigrated from Japan due to better job opportunities. But as they soon found they couldn't survive. Trying to make do for his family he began to do small time work for a major gang. This grew worse and worse. Finally he became the gang leader most trusted Lt. After seeing them shoot down innocents in cold blood he begged out. But they refused and made him watch as they burned down his house with his parents inside. Just as they turned to shoot him, he was rescued as it turned out someone was working undercover.

He has no idea but one of the agents saw potential in him and offered him a job.

He became proficient with a sniper rifle and earned the nickname Shadow Wolf, known for toppling regimes with a single bullet. He's been flown in from USA to help with the situation, because America fears war.

Appearance (Description): 5'7 and quite wiry with only a small percentage of body fat. Brown hair cut short for practicality, dark blue eyes and relatively tanned skin. She generally wear simple jeans, shirt and converse or exercise gear. Reet has a very calm stance, and will often be seen smoking.

Personality: Tough, calm and collected, Isobel is good in a crisis and manages to keep a clear head. She doesn't have any patience with imbeciles, and will gladly knock heads if she thinks they deserve it. She's very practical, and can sometimes seem quite impatient if people seem to be dallying instead of doing a job. Reet can be very blunt to the point of hurting people's feelings, but this straightforward nature does come in useful when she's leading a team on a difficult task.

Style: Stealth or Sabotage. (Although if given the choice Reet would prefer to lead a team.)

Skills/Weapons/Other: Walther p99 (semi-auto revolver) and a da38 Derringer.

History: Isobel had a fairly normal upbringing in a small English town. Her parents divorced when she was 13 and she took it quite stoically, living with her mother and visiting her father in London occasionally. When she was older, Isobel did Criminology and Law at University, originally intending to go into the police force. However, at university she was seen to have a keen intelligence and good leadership skills, so her professor approached her with the offer to work in the secret services. She accepted, obviously.

Appearance:
Tanya is tall and slender (5"8) with long black hair she usually keeps back in a loose braid. Her skin is like ivory; very pale and unblemished, and she has gently slanted eyes which show her evident Chinese blood. She has higher cheek bones then most Chinese, and almost has more japanese features. Her eyes are blue, evidence of her English breeding and has overly sculpted eyebrows that almost give her the appearance of being surprised.

She tends to wear very dark clothing; purples, browns, deep reds and dark denim when she has the time to dress casually.

Personality:
Tanya is like... a stick in the mud. She tends to be very awkward when placed in any situations that involve her putting in her own opinion of the matter or when she has to ask someone to do something. She is very obedient though, so if someone suggests her to do something, different to what she is doing, she may become flustered, but with follow with what they suggested. Unless of course she knows better on the matter. So basically, at points she may seem like a fish out of water and in times like those she will follow with what ever you say.

Though suddenly that can change in an instant when she is given a mission and has to act. She can become anyone, seemingly becoming (personality wise) into someone else. She is very talented at acting and improvisation. She is also very good at pursuading, though not so good at intimidation. You can always tell when she is acting because she all of a sudden becomes sure of herself.

She is great under pressure.

Preferred Vehicle:
Tanya prefers boats, planes, and helicopters. She knows how to fly them, and steer boats. Though you aren't given the chance to use that mode of transportation quite often, so otherwise, she would choose something inconspicious, preferrably a car made from an asain brand.

Style:
Undercover acting and infiltration. Talking to enemies and gaining information directly from them is what she is best at. She doesn't fear killing people, but if she does have to, she usually does it behind their backs; like a slit throat or silenced pistol to the head.

Skills/Weapons/Other:
As I said before, she is great at taking on a role. She prefers to use a silenced pistol, possibly a La France silenced 0.45 pistol. She knows basic judo, karate, and taijutsu. She knows how to speak various languages including; french, english, chinese (both cantonese and mandarin), japanese, german, russian and italian.

Yeppers.

History:
Tanya's mother was a chinese woman who lived in Hong Kong for all her life. The mother was a mixture between Chinese and Japanese. Her father was a British spy who was stationed out in Hong Kong to collect information. It was there that he met Tanya's mother and they fell in love. Tanya grew up in Hong Kong for most of her life until her father was assassinated and the mother decided to take her child and flee the country.

Tanya moved to Britian when she was nine, where they lived with her father's family. Tanya was homeschooled and trained in Britian and proved to be a very intellectual child. She never bothered to escape from the heavy regimine her father's family put on her, nor did she complain. She also then learned to play piano, and cello.

At 17, the SIS pulled her into their service to take her father's place. Slowly she has been gaining renown for the accomplishments that she has completed.

Nickname: The Reaper

Appearance: medium length messy black hair with a handsome pale face and piercing blue eyes. he's just under 6ft and has an athletes body with a calligraphic tattoo going across the left-side of his neck bearing the name of the Serbian mob group he used to be a part of. His clothes are always plain and practical and of simple colours.

Personality: Sean has a dual-personality. Off-duty, he’s a laid-back, easy-going individual who can get along with pretty much anyone. However, when he’s working he’s almost unrecognisable. He's hot-headed, irrational, reckless and often brutal – traits that often led him to commit some serious serious crimes – some of which the SIS have had to cover up over the years.

Preferred Vehicle: Black and Silver motorbike

Style: Assassinations

Skills/weapons: Is an expert assassin (it’s how he earned his nickname). He can always be relied upon to get any job done leaving behind no trail or trace, just a bunch of dead bodies. Over the years, he’s earned a reputation for his many ‘creative’ methods of elimination, but the less said about that, the better. As for weapons, he has no preferred one.

Up for love: Why not

History: he was never patriotic. He was born and raised in a poor run-down part of England by his alcoholic and abusive father. When he was 23 years-old, an event occurred which left his father dead. Fearing arrest, he was soon forced out of the country where he went on the run from the British Police.

He fled to Eastern Europe, where his mother was from, and spent his time working with a local mob group in Serbia where he carried out various murders for them. His time there earned him many useful contacts among the underground mob world and his 'killer' reputation soon surged throughout Eastern Europe. He was eventually snapped up by the SIS after successfully managing to kill a major drug trafficker. The SIS offered him full clemency for his 'crimes' as well as a new British passport if he chose to work for them. He accepted, not because he believes in the cause, he couldn't care less actually, he just wants to return home and start a new life for himself. What the SIS don't know about him is that while Sean was in Serbia, he had, on several occasions, also been approached by the REAF to work for them.

Age: 25 yrs. old
Appearance (Description): 5’5”; 130. She’s the average height for a woman and leanly muscular, with little curve or “softness”. She has shoulder-length dirty blonde hair, blue-green eyes, and tanned, but freckled, skin. She has a heart-shaped face with her eyes, nose, and high cheekbones as main features.

Personality: She is known by most as an ice queen. She does bond to an extent with those who are her superiors or underlings, enough to manipulate or help when needed, but she doesn’t offer anything of herself. She remains harsh and stoic so as not to be perceived as weak or as something to be protected by some of the more old-fashioned (and male) members of the team. At home she could be considered a smart, but very quiet and sensitive girl who never had a date in high school. She has a soft spot for animals, but is scared of small children (she doesn’t know why, but they cry and look breakable and she doesn’t like it) and doesn’t, um, play well with others (since she’s stubborn to a fault). Her superiors have quite a bit of trouble with her, but they tend to like her spunk. Oh, and she’s afraid of blood. ...Yeah, really. No, she will not admit to this. She has a colorful way of talking, as well—using words some people can’t even guess what they mean.
Preferred Vehicle: Her motorcycle, or planes—she doesn’t trust helicopters or cars, but rides in them whenever she has to.
Style: Manipulative talking and using her highly tuned speaking skills. If that doesn’t work, she’ll shoot ‘em. Unless she is told not to, then she’ll just pistol whip them. Either way, it works in her favor.
Skills/Weapons/Other: First and foremost, she has a photographic memory—something she has cherished over the years and used to get higher up in her chosen work (“blackmailing” may be too strong of a word, but close enough). She is good at working systems and controlling people who don’t normally like being controlled. She’s also fairly good at hitting a target with her weapon-of-choice, her trusty black pistol, and using her slight figure to her best advantage; since she doesn’t have brute force, she’s become rather resourceful. She can be too zealous however and take justice into her own hands, something her superiors have tried to weed out of her for the past two years. Otherwise, she has a certain lack of stamina, because of her left ankle, which she hurt years ago and it never quite healed properly. It’s literally her Achilles Heel.

History: She was born in East Colfax, Denver, Colorado to a family of six. She had two older brothers and a younger sister. She breezed through school, almost to the point where teachers thought she was cheating (she was accused, repeatedly, but there was no proof), but she made few friends and generally displeased her family. While living in the fairly modern city of Denver, her family held onto its Alabama morals. She was supposed to meet a boy, settle down, let him become a money-maker, and have his children. She didn’t go along with the plan (unlike her other siblings). She never even liked pink. As far as family relations go, they continue to be strained—eventually, she just couldn’t take it anymore and decided to go extreme. Done with high school at fifteen, she left for London to make a life for herself. Somehow she managed to get into intelligence. She doesn’t exactly remember how it happened—her life was a whirlwind then—but she’s just pleased at how far she’s come. Well, she’s also happy about the fact that it’s more or less illegal for her parents to even know anything about her job; which means she has a perfectly good reason to keep her life in the dark.

Her hair is pale-blonde and falls in thick waves to her shoulders. Her eyes are small and clear-blue, hidden beneath thick, dark eyebrows. She's a very simple girl and hardly wears any makeup. Her complexion is very rosy, and as such, she looks very innocent and has the appearance of fifteen year old girl.

Erika is very reserved and quiet, occasionally pitching in her ideas but often being scared to. She's very kind and forgiving, but it is never possible to tell what she's thinking. She sees herself as a liability to her group, and as such is often going out of her way to try and please them.

Style:
Erika uses her beauty and innocence to act like an idiot and luring her enemies to believe that she is incapable of harm. By the time they learn the truth, it is too late.

Skills/Weapons/Other:
Erika's preferred method of killing people is by poison; she carries countless small bottles of it in her bag. This is because she hates the sight of blood. Although she carries a pistol and knife, she only uses them for emergencies.

Up for love:
Although she wants a boyfriend, she is not desperate and thus very hard to win over.

History
Erika was born in Chicago, IL, and lived there until she was thirteen, when a job search forced her parents to relocate. Being a reserved person, she didn't make many friends in America and was excited to move and start fresh. Her first interest in intelligence service could have arguably come from the gritty action movies she watched and the hardcore karate classes that she took. Erika also enjoyed history and learning about how countries interacted with one another. At first, the CIA wanted to recruit her, but she decided to join the SIS instead.

Appearance: Tall and lanky, Michael embodies the true essence of a broomstick. He has just enough muscle on his bones to pass fitness tests. Each feature on his body is precisely angular and exact. His eyes are power blue and his hair is short, spiky, and black. Though his vision is exact and unhindered, he remains in his college-years fad of wearing Euro-chic black glasses. After all, it helps his bookstore appeal.

Personality: Tenor likes to be the quick-wit in a group.

Preferred Vehicle: Something sleek and something that can roar with the best of them, just like Sean: Black Mustang

Style: Impersonation || Assassination -- Either in the field of operations or wiring a telephone call to an inner operative, Tenor refuses to sit on the bench. His acting and voice skills are what got him into M16 in the first place, but his eyes and quiet feet are what kept him in.

Skills/Weapons/Other: Tenor can imitate nearly any voice to near perfection. His vocal range is from bass to soprano, and his days in Drama kept him sharp enough to imitate accents to the T. However, it takes more than just a good voice to become a special op, so Michael proved himself with a gun. He prefers a simple, handheld Glock as his weapon, and always carries two with him while in the field.

Up for love: He has a wife girlfriend committed relationship cover-up Don't ask, don't tell.

History: Michael's background is simple enough for your everyday spy. He was born just north of London. His father "was a florist" (meaning spy). He went through school, went to college for theater, experimented, graduated college, took up a job with a sketchy acting company, experimented more, moved to New York, and escalated his career to Broadway with his phenomenal voice skills. All in one sentence. However, on his debut night in the next cast of Phantom of the Opera, Michael Sykes went missing. When the tranquilizer wore off, he was at home to be greeted by a high operative and his father. Michael was 26 at the time. (editing)
