Evelyn's eyes did a very small double take on-- Yamren. She made a mental note that this was not the same twin from before and just nodded slowly at the warm grate. "Cool... How about in Sanctum? Anything special going on?"
Jay thought about that for a moment. “Nothing all that specific, really. But there’s been a shift in behavior. There are more people out, gathering the last of the harvest before the frost settles for real. And some people are already trying to get gifts for their families, without the big shopping at malls and stores, of course. Haven’t had those for a few years now...” He sighed. “Yeah, I have yet to plan for Christmas.”

[They're all so awkward ;-;]
"... that's right, Christmas is coming up," Yamren said. "I'd forgotten. We usually don't do much for Christmas... any holiday, really."

[Yes ;-;]
Jay sighed. “Yeah, I get that... Not even before the bombs, you mean?”

Yamren shook her head. "No, not even before that. We... never had enough money or time to do anything big. Kamea would usually 'find' a gift for each of us, but other than that we never did anything."

With a long sigh, Natalia drew her arm away after a moment and held her basket with both hands in front of herself. Her fingertips felt numb from digging in the cold dirt and having it still caked on and falling away. She glanced over at Destiny, watching her for a second. "How are you doing, davin?"

He bit his lip, nodding slowly. "Yeah..." He sighed quietly. "I'm sorry that you didn't have the chance to actually celebrate."

She shrugged. "I don't really miss out on anything. The only christmas I remember celebrating was when I was four, the year before..." She bit her lip and stopped. "... um, I don't think it's that important anyway."

"I'm glad Michael's back," she said quietly. "But I wish our family was together again..." She shook her head slightly. "I miss Finn."

Jay had been listening for what she was about to say next, but when she changed the topic, he didn't question it. He knew better than to ask about it. "It's not everyone's thing, that's true."
ChamomilePendragon wrote:"Did you guys do anything much?" Yamren asked, awkwardly trying to switch the subject away from herself and her family and christmas and the year before that thing happened before she started crying. "Before the bombs, I mean?"
