Luna also stood up. she had to get Jason to believe in magic, so she could get home as fast as she could, the people back home could need her. "Sure let's get going." She said.
Livvie shrugged, entering the house and keeping it open for the other two. When they came in, Livvie came face to face with Jason glowering at her. "Magic, huh?"
Livvie's face went red. She opened her mouth to talk but couldn't find words so closed her mouth again. She repeated the process several times when Jason yelled, "You know I don't believe in it! Ellie died because of it, Liv! Try to understand." When he realized what he had done, Jason's face softened and he hugged Livvie who was at the verge of bursting into tears. Livvie stood stiffly.
He said nothing for the first few moments that followed Jason's confrontation.
He just watched as Jason and Livvie embraced - Jason trying to play comforter when it was clear his words were doing anything but comforting Livvie.
He found himself clenching his fists at his side; death was no justification for something like that.
Keep it together, he reminded himself. He had a role that he needed to maintain. Levi Quinn would watch from afar. That was who he was supposed to be now.
But he hadn't always been Levi Quinn.
And he couldn't ignore something like that.
"If I was shot and killed, I hope you wouldn't stop believing in guns," he said. His voice wasn't too loud or intrusive - it was just loud enough to be heard by everyone present.
Livvie let go of Jason, astonished at what Levi had said. He actually did have a point. Jason glowered at him, his face a pinkish color. He raised his hand to punch Levi. "Never talk to me."
"Jason! What are you doing?" Livvie scolded, pushing Jason away, pure anger on her face. "He has a point, okay?"
"So what? You know I'm not good on that topic." he said, combing back his hair with his hands.
Luna clenched her fists at her side. What gives him the right to talk to Levi like that. Breathing in Luna pulled herself together, and spoke softly. "Jason you do realize your not the only person that has lost loved once, and I understand it can be hard, but you need to pull yourself together." Luna pointed at Livvie. "Look what your doing to your friend? Is making her come to tears what you want?"
"Believe or don't believe in magic - I don't care," he said, bridging the little distance between him and Jason. He looked him right in the eye. "What I do care about is you using someone else's death to justify your beliefs. Your sister didn't ask to be reduced to a reason."
He held his gaze for another moment before taking a few steps back.
Jason softened and Livvie slumped. This was not how she thought everyone would meet. He sat on the stool in the hallway and held his head in his hands. "I'm sorry. Ellie... She just..." he tripped over his words. Livvie patted his back.
"You'll get her back. I promise." she gave a reassuring smile. "Supper now, everyone? It's already pretty late." she looked up at the clock. "Eight thirty."
