James woke up with a start, curled up under the shade of a tree. He was alarmed to see that the ground beneath him and the area around him looked quite different from what he remembered. Instead of the wild, messy forest floor, it was a trimmed, grassy field. When he looked up he saw a completely foreign... brightly colored thing in the distance. It looked like a strange contraption with steps, and tubes, and a bridge. It was an odd combination of pieces of random architecture, and other things he didn't recognize. But he did recognize something that looked like a swing, just with metal chains instead of rope like he was used to.
He also noticed the bench with the three boys around it, all dressed a little strange, and acting like it too. He squinted at them from behind the tree, observing first before deciding to step out, hesitantly, with his sack on his back.
"Hello. Um. I was wondering, what's this place called?" he asked as he approached. "And uh, what's that thing?" He said pointing to the colorful contraption.
Spoiler! :
Here's James! He's the young boy, not the baby haha. He's about 11 in this rp.
He looks something like this, just with a simple little brown jacket and like, boots. He looks like he's been sleeping in the dirt and grass (he has) cuz he has dirt and grass stains on him lol.
"Hallo," Engel greeted, voice a hot raspy but overall pretty confident I his demeanor. "I don't know about either one. I'm Engel, by the way. What's your name?"
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
If the others were introducing themselves, he would have to join in with his own name. He had been waiting a long time to finally use it, and, when he did use it, it was with a smile on his face. "I'm Herobrine," he said. "Because I'm the hero!" He giggled at his own joke, certain that they would get it.
His face fell when James apparently didn't get the joke. "I'm just the hero," he said, crossing his arms. There simply wasn't any other way to put it. "I have to be. Because only a hero would be locked up by the gods for his magic! The gods are the villains, and I'm the hero. That's how it would be if I was in one of my books!"
"What?" Engel blinks. "Magic? God?" Overall, the German boy seems very confused.
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
"I'm in a prophecy," he explained. "But the prophecy's wrong, because I'm not going to destroy the world. Especially when I'm trapped in my cave, or wherever here is."
He turned to James. He was quick to confirm the second question asked. He kept his arms folded, because it was comfy having them like that. "I have books on my shelves."
Engel was silent for a few moments, first to digest the information about the fact that this blind kid had just told him he was in a prophecy where he was supposed to destroy a world, and then in the realization that he was very quickly about to become a third wheel because he didn't know how to read.
"Wait," he said. "You...can read?"
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
Raiden gave a wave at James as he approached them, giving him a grin that was missing a tooth. He then slid into the space next to Hero, looking up at him confusedly. He patted the cloth over Hero's eyes gently. "How do you read with this over your eyes?" he asked, tilting his head.
I'm cool as a cucumber Even if I'm in a pickle
Two possibilities exist: Either we are alone in the universe, or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.
"Nein, I can't read, where would I learn to read? No one reads! No one in the village, at least. Well...she does but she's mean and I wouldn't ask her if someone paid me."
