Middle Earth

PLOT
It has been 200 years since the Battle for Middle Earth, and things have basically gone down the toilet. The Men have gone through many evil leaders, and have taken their toll. Every day they raid the villages of anyone who is not human. The Elves magnificent kingdoms have turned to ruins, the Elves themselves outcast and outlawed being nearly impossible to catch. The Dwarves have fought as well as they could to protect their mines, but have, in the end, become virtual slaves to the Men. As have the Hobbits.



YOUR PART
You are one of the few willing to stand up to the Men and try to bring back peace to Middle Earth. That’s basically your quest.



OTHER
There are others, but it will take much effort, will, bloodshed and hope to find them.

I know, this doesn’t sound like much, but it has SO much more story potential. It just needs to be thought up.



RULES AND GUIDLINES

1) NO god-modding, perfect characters, vulgar language (unless it’s made-up dwarfish), sexual scenes, reference, or killing off other characters without creator’s permission.
2) POSTS must be a minimum of three (3) sentences in length. If they aren’t, they wont be counted, aka everyone will be asked to forget the post. There is no maximum, but I might suggest getting to know other characters before making speeches or anything.
3) GORE is allowed, but remember, this is PG-13. Keep it that way.
4) YOU MUST POST at least once every three days, or your characters will be killed. Harsh, I know, but you have to be active. If you can’t post for three days or more, please tell everyone.
5) PLEASE use proper grammar, punctuation and spelling each post.
6) ABIDE BY THE RULES OF YWS. Just a reminder, and this is the main rule that gets broken in StoryBooks, no chatspeak.
7) Keep all discussion in the Discussion Thread, which I will make if this is at all popular.

NAME: Morton

GENDER: Male

AGE: 31

RACE: Human

APPEARANCE: Tall, quite weak, carries a bow and arrow, wears a black cloak and a rusty, steel longsword.

HISTORY: He was born on the island of Numenor, and is one of the last descendants. There are only about five left, but he doesn't know where they are. His personal quest is to find at one. He grew up in Rohan but fled back to Numenor. There, he killed his brother and father, leaving only his sister alive. She committed suicide; he killed them when they joined the "evil" King's armies in anger. He saw what was happening to the human world and aided the dwarves in a battle against them. He was known as a traitor and is only welcome with a few of the dwarves who survived the battle. He wants the King dead, partly because the Queen used to be his friend, before she was forced to marry the King.

RACE: Elf

APPEARANCE: Picture down below-except with visible green eyes. And her hair is jet black. Instead of a bow and arrow she carries around two long daggers that clip together and fit in her boot. She's insanely skilled with them and get take anyone on. She has her only loves ring around her neck on a chain at all times.

PERSONALITY: Sweet and intense. She's brutally honest but somehow still appears innocent. She's also very standoffish and most people know nothing about her.

HISTORY (optional): She was there at the Battle for Middle Earth. In her eyes the race of men has always been doomed to fail and although they fought their lust for power every man is the same and it was inevitable. A very long time ago during her 101th year she fell in love with a man. Eventually he grew old and died and she struggles with living for all eternity when he isn't with her anymore. All the battles she's fought in she reminds herself that not all men are bad or were bad anyway. Every few decades she resigns back to her home deep in Rivendell.

NAME: Nyx Whitewood

GENDER: Female

AGE: 748

RACE: Elf

APPEARANCE: [Girl in attatched picture] She always wears her black cloak, gloves, and boots. Often the hood in the back of the cloak. She fights with a bow and arrows, but when they aren't available, she uses a short sword.


HISTORY (optional): She doesn't really like to talk about it. That is, if you can find her, and then get her to talk to you. Her "brother", howver, will gladly spill.




NAME: Aelfhere Whitewood

GENDER: Male

AGE: 112 (I would guess that half-elves live... 500 years or so?)

RACE: Half-elf

APPEARANCE: [Boy in attatched picture] He fights with a longsword and daggers. Oh, and did I mention he's blind? Seriously, he's blind.


HISTORY (optional): His mother was an Elf, and his father, a human. They were outcast from society because of their union. His dad died when he was 24. When he was 67 and walking in the woods behind his family's cottage, he heard shudders from a patch of underbrush waiting to be burned. Lying in it was Nyx, 703 years old. He brought her into the cottage and his mother helped him care for her until she woke up after a week.

NAME: Anorian Sileddan

GENDER: Male

AGE: 375

RACE: Elf

HISTORY (optional): He lived in Lorien for nearly two centuries before the final battles for Middle Earth broke out, and fought at Helm’s Deep. He considered the option of joining the elves who sailed away from Middle Earth, but instead stayed to help other elves ensure that no others like Sauron and Saruman would attempt to exploit the environment for their own ends. When the remaining elves of Lorien began to be persecuted by humans, Anorian helped in the attempted defence of the borders of the forest. However, when the humans finally managed to break through, he and the other elves realised that the only way they could survive was by disappearing, and he has since spent his time in the shadows of South Mirkwood, where humans are still uncertain about travelling.

HISTORY (optional): She used to be a servant girl in Minas Tirith when she was younger. Something was stolen from the castle and she was blamed and whipped. After that she ran away and fled to the woods where she lived with the few remaining ents. Now she does her best to protect the forest of Fangorn and the ents that dwell deep inside of its trees. She is very tall because of an incident in Fangorn where she got drunk on the water. She is now very careful of that.

Personality: She is quiet and hard. After her beating as a child she has hated humans. Anyone she finds near Fangorn is seen as a threat (except the elves, but she only tolerates them) Her best friend is Treebeard and the only person she actually laughs with.

OTHER: She carries a sword and bow and is up for love if you can get past her hardened heart.

Name: Kaida

Age: 23

Gender: female

Race: Half elf, half-human

History: She grew up in Rohan, with her human father. There, she learned swordplay and archery (and of course horsemanship). Kaida is a Sheild Maiden

Appearance: She has red hair that goes below her waist and gray eyes. She's a bit taller than most humans because of her elven blood and her ears are slightly pointed.

APPEARANCE: [Girl in attached picture] She always wears her black cloak, gloves, boots and sometimes, hood. She can handle both sword and bow, but she always carries a bow and arrows and prefers those.


HISTORY: She was also there at the final battle for Middle Earth. Afterwards, when the Men began to persecute the Elves, she fled to the Misty Mountains, and has remained there ever since. She’s a hermit, but feared by anyone who’s not out to get her. There’s a huge bounty on her head, so she’s constantly on the move. Good luck finding her.

AGE: 73

RACE: Half-Elf

HISTORY: When his mom, who is an Elf, got hurt from an attack, Aelfwine and his mother moved to a little hut in the middle of nowhere (haven’t decided a place). That’s about it. They’re safe in the hut. His dad dies when he was 23.

HISTORY: Lalaith was in Lorien for the final battle of Middle Earth, and afterwards refused to leave Middle Earth for the Undying Lands. Instead, she went to live on the northern borders of Fangorn Forest and the base of the Misty Mountains with a few of her distant relatives. There, she peacefully spent many years out of the way of the men, and still is.
