I growled in the lower corner of my cell, I felt like I was going to kill someone, it was so difficult to be here, alone, all by myself. I didn't care where I was just not in the nightlands anywhere but here. I looked around at the walls, it was so dark, so cruel and so unhuman... ha! But then again I was only half human.

"Are you just going to stand there telling me your life story or are you going to sit down and get some rest before you're going to have to start killing off these kids?" I asked a bit to bitterly and then looked up to the boy only a bit older than myself. I wrapped my arms around my legs and sighed to myself, it was automatic that I put my hand out and started playing with a rope of fire around my arm and then noticed that the boy hadn't left yet. "My name is Wesley, just Wesley because I don't know what my last name is and I have no memory of what the first fifteen years of my life was. I'm Elvin and I'm alone, so hi Brahm, your the first creature I have actually had a conversation with in the past nine months."

Frost - 15? - Were/Vamp - Night Lands

I sighed and continued to bang my head against the wall, each time harder then the last. Had I been human I would probably be bleeding already. Shinar glared at me with a spine tingling stare, signaling me to cease how I was acting. I glared back, my gaze no where near as killer as his. We, like everyone else, didn't want to be here. A shadow had came by earlier asking for my name, which I refused to give. Kids were sobbing, some were screaming, and others looked as though they didn't care. Ding ding! There's my category! I didn't give a crap. Not one. As long as it was me in danger, not one of my close friends, I could care less. I knew Shinar would be fine after I died because he would be able to go back to his clan. What did I have to live for anyway? I have a fifteen year old vampire-werewolf girl with no parent, and only supported by a job that gave me money for each bounty on someone's head, or something a shadow left behind after being killed. Other than my wolves I really had nothing at all. My wolves. Dear god I loved them. They had been my last resort after my real family was gone.

A boy about three years older than myself was sitting against the wall in the cell across from me. His straight black hair curled at the ends and his aqua blue eyes staring around the cell. I kicked up a rock with the heel of my shoe and chucked it over at his cell, waiting for him to look up so I could wave. Okay, so maybe I was a wee bit bored.

Faolan Ryder - 17 - human - Nightlands

I exhaled a ring of smoke, tapping my foot on the ground. Jordan and Kacey were inside, working over the store owners. I was the get-away driver. Jordan had the fastest car, but I had the most skill.

What had I been thinking, standing outside that store? Why the hell had I agreed to join them on their little shopping spree? If I had refused, stayed in bed, then chances are I wouldn't be here. Wherever here is, anyway.

Someone shoved me forward, forcing me into an over-populated room. I knew I could probably turn around and try to take whoever it was, but I knew better than that. Ben taught me better than that. So I'd wait. I'd use my head, not my frreaking ego like the rest of the hoods I know. They get thrown in the cooler all too quickly because they think they're so great.

I waited until I heard the click of the door shutting before I raised my eyes from my shoes and scanned the scene in front of me.

I wandered around the grounds, watching new people meet and greet each other casually but a little nervously. I smirked to myself. They wouldn't be acting like that for long. I felt a tap on my shoulder, and I jumped. I unsheathed my sword and whirled to see who it was.

"Woah, cool it! I was only going to ask you a question," the voice said, retreating. I flipped over their head and stopped them from running away.

"Who are you and what's your question?" I whispered dramatically, moving the blade closer to their face.

"Zachariah!" the queen called from her room.

I approached her carefully. She'd been in a bad mood lately and I didn't want to get her mad at me, despite how beautiful she was angry.

"Yes, your Ladyship," I whispered.

"There are new arrivals out there. They need to be taught the night games. I want you to do so," she sniffed.

"But your Highness! You always send someone else to take care of that meaningless task!" I cried.

"Go!" she ordered.

Brahn-18, Night Lands

Attempt number one to try to be normal; failed. Brahn pushed his head against the wall, still rubbing his arm. "If I were to tell you my life story, you'd be dead. Watch your tongue, it could cost you your life." Wesley let out a small laugh and looked away. Brahn didn't know if it was safe to admit he was the mass murderer that made it so people were afraid of even a small grove of trees. He didn't know if such knowledge would be useful to the rest here at the games, or if it would reduce his chance of making it out of here. They'll know when they need to know. Brahn fidgeted with one of his blades and unsheathed in, drawing much unwanted attention from all the shadows in the room. As two of them rushed towards him with ropes visible in their hands, he turned to Wesley and smirked. "Hello, Wesley, you're the first one I haven't killed at first sight in 3 years."

"In Vabbi , I was ambushed by six of them! They wielded blunt wooden sticks and were hissing at me about overdue fines... Bandits? Oh, no. These were library envoys."

Darkness growled as a boy creeped up behind Whisper. He froze in parilization as Whisper appeared behind him without any warning. He started to laugh lightheartedly.
"Whisper, you have gotten better."
"Sunny you have gotten worse. Try to loose concentration on everything else around you but your target, and loose concentration on your target to focus on everything else", Whisper said. Sunny looked at her in confusion.
"How in heaven do you do that?"Sunny had a sour face as he said it. He had been trying to make Whisper laugh ever since they met. He had never succeeded. Whisper looked at him with no expression.
"You have no brains, do you?" she said harshly. Darkness made a sound as if he was hacking a hairball.
"I don't know. I have never looked." Whisper rolled her eyes as Sunny looked at her as if he was a deer in the headlights. There was an awkward silence and then Sunny proceeded to talk. "Why don't you meet new people. They seem to be having a good time."
"Why waist my time on those people who know nothing of the dark side, therefore know nothing of brains which means they're stupid. You know me better than that Sunny."
"I know.....I just think-"
"Think what?" Whisper seemed to yell it at him. He knew he needed to leave before things would get out of hand. Sunny smiled.
"That I would go over there and greet new people. Who knows, them and their stupidity could save ou-my life one day." He refused to say "our". He knew that Whisper has never needed saving and would probably give him a nightmare if he said so.
"Then go ahead", Whisper said as she motioned towards the depressed, cold, and big group of people. After Sunny was over there and laughing with the group of people she sniffed the air.
"Ugh. Werewolves", she said to herself. Darkness started growling again. Whisper seemed to just dissapear and be behind the boy. The young boy jolted around.
"Woah! Calm down. I'm River." He held out his hand for Whisper to shake. Whisper stared at it and looked back up at him with,again, absolutely no emotion. River seemed very uncomfortable and wiped his sweaty palm on his jeans. He continued to talk. "Your name is?"
"Whisper" she replied refusing to look away from his eyes. River felt like he was weakening. Darkness rubbed his head on River's jeans. For the first time a smile tugged at Whisper's face. She didn't let it show on her face. She kept it down. Darkness felt the emotion in her feelings and looked at River and seemed to smile. Darkness thought to himself I knew I liked you for a reason. Emotion? How did you do it?
"It was nice to meet you", River said as he picked up his hand quickly and stuffed it back in his pants pocket. Whisper kept herself from waving. She looked over at Sunny. He was talking and shivering with others. She sat down and Darkness threw himself across her. Whisper left out a big grunt and Darkness purred in delight as she scratched behind his ear. She threw her head against the cold stone wall. She watched as other shadows walked around asking for names.
"Your name, miss?" Whisper just stared not replying. It didn't take them long to realize what her name was.
"Whisper Chimes. Did you not get enough last time?" Whisper only looked at them as she made her eyes cloudy so they couldn't see her feelings. The shadow sighed and wrote down Whipers's name.
Sunny quickly joined Whisper.
"They creep me out", he said as he slid down the wall.
"Just remember to not let them know that. They will destroy you from the inside. Also keep in mind that you are also one of them." Whisper said it so bitterly. Chill bumps began to rise on her arm with how cold it was in the enclosed room. She decided to close her eyes and create a nightmare, or just focus on someone's mind and their deepest fears. The second one sounded better, but she decided to save that for later.
This is a story about a girl
Who cried a river and drowned the whole world.

Wesley - Elvin - 17 - Night Lands

"Hmmm... My life? You think you could end my life? Please, my life ended three years ago" I laughed and looked away from Brahn to where I saw two boys talking to each other, one of them catching my attention. His hair was jet-black and even from here I could tell his eyes were aqua blue, and he was towering over every other male in the room so fo course, I would have noticed him right of the bat. After listening intively to his and the other boy's conversation I thought I'd caught his name, Cody...,.

"Well, seems we have something in common, now don't we?" Brahn said and smirked, "we should fight together in the Night Games."

I sighed and smiled, not taking my eyes off of the aqua-eyed boy, "maybe we should."


(just so everyone knows, I'll bring Erin and Addison back into the story a bit later but if any of you want you can just take them through the story yourselves, whatever is fine with me)

Frost - 15 - Were/Vamp - Night Lands

*Forgot to metion but Frost had three vertical scars that go from the base of her neck to her tail bone. They're silver-looking*

My blind eye was irritating me to a great extent. I continuously rubbed it, however it didn't help. Shinar looked over at me and nudged my jaw bone with his nose, trying to get me to stop. "What's wrong Shinar? 'Fraid I'll go blind? Wait! I already am!" I snapped in a harsh whisper. His ears lowered and he glowered at me.

'Hmph. You don't have to have an attitude about it,' Shinar retorted mentally. I shudder ran through my body at the sight of a big black cat next to its owner. Shinar went stiff next to me, his eyes locked in a glaring contest with the large animal. I leaned my head against his shoulder blade and pulled my jacket closer to my body. Since I was half werewolf half vampire my body heat was that of a normal humans instead of ice cold like a full vampire's or searing hot like a full werewolf's. So, thanks to that I was freezing.

I was going to drift into sleep, that was, until a flashback hit me.

A young girl, about fourteen was running after her pet wolf, Shinar, blade in hand as she ran. They were supposively sparring but all the wolf did was run. As the girl, Frost, ran further into the forest she became lost, the bright moon the only thing lighting her path. Something was blocking her werewolf senses, something demonic. A snarl eurupted from the tree above her, making her swing around, sword in front of her. A black panther suddenly jumped out at her, white saliva falling from its mouth and deadly claws extended. Without thinking Frost spun around, back to the creature as it's claws ripped into her soft flesh.

By now I was shaking violently, a look of fear struck across my face, which I burried into my knees in horror.

I felt eyes on me, and if I knew everything that was anything I would know to look back and glare at the person who was staring, they had no right to stare epecially at me. I looked down and slowly but surely turned around, I saw a young girl staring at me, I tried my best not to glare and just look at her normally but I knew that deep inside I was actually glaring. She was beautiful, but what could I say? Half the girls I have seen in my lifetime were beautiful, but I couldn't have any of them... I turned my attention back to Max as he began to speak....

Azrael - Shadow - 17 years old


Azrael surveyed the teens being led into the room. The lost this time seemed more livelier than the last ones.

He nearly laughed at his one thoughts, livelier - he's brother had been one of them and now he was dead. It seemed partially ironic, and his lips curled nearly making a sile.

One of them was pushed in, he seemed to be thinking and not acting like most of the rather hot-heated people he's seen so far.

Azrael shifted, his leg beginning to get numb from kneeling on it. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. Why am I here?

He bit his lip in critical thought, as he tried desperately to get a logical answer form himself. The only thing that would come up was the horrible image of his brother dead etched into his mind.

He sighed and opened his eyes, but the image stayed burnt into his retina.

Breathing lightly he made a move to the door which kept the chosen ones in. No one knew he was here and that was they way he wanted it too stay.

Pulling a key pick out of his pocket he began to work on the lock which held the teens in the room.

He heard muttering, but ignored it, intent on the work at hand. He stood there for what seemed like hours but were in fact minutes moving excrutiatingly slowly.

The lock clicked - satisfactory clear on his face.

He knocked three times and crept away from the door. The ones that had initiative would escape, but the other ones would shy away.

He smiled, it was his time to enjoy the game.

Brahn, 18, Night Lands

"We should." Brahn hid a small smile, he was finally returning from his life of blood-shed and secrecy, or at least somewhat.

"Name?" He looked up to see the two shadows with ropes towering over him. "Tell us your name, boy!" One of them grumbled, lifting his hand to strike Brahn on the head.

"Brahn." He replied, standing up so he could be face-to-face with both of the shadows. One of them smirked, obviously aware of his identity.

"Brahn Ravahldar, long have we waited for you to be caught. I see you've attempted to end your murderous mascaraed. Well, I've got some news for you Brahn; while you're here, the only thing you'll be doing, is adding to your death count." Wesley turned around, cocking her head slightly, shifting her gaze from Brahn to the Shadows, then back again. "Now, sit back down and behave like your pretty little lady friend here, but I'll be taking those. We wouldn't want you to have too much of an advantage over your opponents." The tall, lanky shadow that had done most of the speaking tore Brahn's belt in two, taking both of his blades along with it, and threw him down on the ground. Wesley fixed her attention on Brahn again, still hugging her knees.

"Well, you aren't very famous, now are you?"
