For alchemists who use runes, do they have to be physically drawn on something or can it be a "draw in the air" thing?

Also would it be possible for one of the King's advisors to be an alchemist? Or would there be some sort of time/dedication conflict there? (This is for my character, whom I am planning to be a noble/politician, and I also noticed no one has created an alchemist yet--might be interesting?)

If I'm not mistaken through counting in the DT and looking at the characters already submitted, we have 3 females, 2 males, and 3 unconfirmed (including mine). @Feltrix are you particularly concerned about a gender imbalance in our cast of characters?

I wouldn't worry too much about gender imbalance. We can always create NPCs to balance things out. Unless you only plan to interact with other authors characters...

Alchemists would have to physically draw the runes. Anyone can be on the King's court as long as they distinguish themselves in some way. Some of the mages might resent that, but that just makes things more interesting. And I'm not worried about gender imbalance.

I've been thinking about the King. I think that we should kill him off. His strength built his realm, his death will cause a power vacuum that the different factions will try to fill.

Maybe a slow death, like poison or maybe just age and illness.

@Griffinkeeper: wouldn't an assassination cause more of a power vacuum? Or it is too--violent?

Violent assassination could work; but it is a bit too overt. An assassin would need to work very hard to get close, kill him, and then escape from some very angry bodyguards.

With a slow acting poison, you start his death and escape before anyone suspects that something is wrong. It is also more treacherous. You can even make it seem like natural causes.

@Griffinkeeper: poison is a crime that's hard to pinpoint the culprit, so good for sneaks.

Hopefully I can get my CP up in a few days.

Sorry for the double post, but what's the minimum age for a character here? I'm planning to make my character pretty young, so...

I think the overarching goal is to serve the story of your character, not an unwritten rule. That said, if you have a 13 year old character, don't be surprised when older characters treat them like a kid.

Killing the King is a great idea! For a while, I've been planning to have the corporations accidentally set off some æther explosions, destroying large parts of the city. If the King were killed, then that could start a corporate war with the commoners risng up against them for destroying most of the city!

@Sheyren, I honestly don't have a gender preference.

We have a new member to our storybook. Everyone, this is Spark and this is his first storybook.
