"Mm..." Sadie took a deep breath and leaned back against the headboard lazily. "... yeah... what do you suppose is going to happen?" She wasn't so sure that she could sleep easy knowing that Alex was right: everything was going to change soon. And change rarely ended well for her. She liked routine. Comfort. Stability.
Well. Relative stability anyhow. She had a generally chaotic life, but at least she knew how to get by. But this? This was anyone's guess. Was it just going to be more masochism for some cold, hard cash? 'Cause she could vibe with that. But an uneasy feeling in her gut said it was going to be much more than that. And she wasn't excited to find out if she was right or not.

Sadie's skin was crawling and the hair was standing up on the back of her neck. She felt like she was vaguely familiar with something like this, but she couldn't remember the details to save her life. She wasn't the world-saving type. No need to get her blood pressure up over something she couldn't change. But. Well... it felt relevant now. Her voice was weak when she managed, "...who?"
