Have you ever read any banned book?

Well, in Honors English we're learning about banned books in honor honor of Fahrenheit 451.
Today, we got a book to research why it was banned. I got the one of the most banned books, Catcher in The Rye. I already knew everything about why its been banned, so I got a book not on any paper that the teacher handed out. Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut. I love this book down to it's core
Now, nearly every single one of Vonnegut's book has been challenged (My school library can't carry Slapstick, Mr. Rosewater, Deadeye Dick, Welcome To The Monkey House) and it shocks me.
So, have you read any banned book and your thoughts on it.
Another shocker is that Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy has been banned in Canada

None of the books you mentioned are banned as far as I am aware, not where I live.

Not many books are still banned today, though many are of course excluded from schools.

I did however read Salingers 'Catcher in the Rye' some time ago. It's probably among the worst things I've read. And it's all he's known for...

Well I remember them not necessarily banning it, but Huckleberry Finn- by Mark Twain.

I loved the book, but I do believe it was either banned, or they are re-printing it to remove the N word that is apparently extremely racist for a white person to say. I, however have a copy of the book from the late 1800's so I'm happy.

After spending the majority of the twentieth century having everything that came into the country censored by the Roman Catholic Church, Ireland doesn't much go in for banning books.

But I have read some that have been banned in other places, but that's so many books! Catcher in the Rye, even Harry Potter and John Green.

Out of interest, why did Slaughterhouse 5 get banned? For showing America's actions in Dresden in a negative light?

I know that a university here is trying to ban the song "Blurred Lines", I find that interesting...

@StellaThomas Well, it's been challenged and banned for intense language, profanity, and homophobic remarks. Along with some detailed scenes

I've got no idea how or where we can buy a banned book.

Well we have a banned book in my school library: Tintin and the Sovients.

I've read every book in the Restricted Section at Hogwarts.

One of my favorite books, Immanuel's Veins by Ted Dekker, was banned in the Netherlands for being too sensual.

In India all the books of Nathuram Godse are banned...
Other than his books Idk if any other books are banned here..
I have read the great gatsby too....and I shall start hunting for more books once I finish my high school leaving exam..

Surprisingly, some of the books they've made us read in school are banned in some parts of the country, including "Of Mice and Men" and "The Giver".
