What's happening: An extravaganza of virtual gift giving!
Christmas in July
On July 13 & 14 by GMT time, YWS will be holding a Christmas in July celebration! During this celebration, we'll be encouraging YWSers to give away as many gifts as possible. As part of this, everyone will be given an extra 250 points to spend. Since gifts cost 50 points each, that's equivalent to five gifts.
How do I give a gift?
There are two ways. The easiest way is to go to a person's profile and click on "Send gift" in the sidebar. The other way is to go to the Settings Dashboard (the gear tab), then click on "Gifts."
The available gifts haven't been changed in ages! Will there be new ones?

Secret Santa Review Exchange
So, we've done gift weekend extravganzas twice in the past, but never a Secret Santa program! Except, instead of giving physical presents (not a good idea...), YWS Secret Santas will review two works written by the person they're assigned to.
Interested? Beginning on July 7, you'll be able to sign up to be a Secret Santa. Then when you log into YWS during the gift weekend, you'll be assigned to someone, meaning you'll review two of their works. Meanwhile, someone else who signed up for Secret Santa would do two reviews of your work.
Sounds great! What do Secret Santas get?
Everyone who participates in the Secret Santa Review Exchange will get a Secret Santa assigned to them. So if you sign up, you'll review two works and someone else will review two works by you.
What if I don't have two works to review, or if the person I'm assigned to doesn't have two works to review?
In this case, the Secret Santa will have their free choice of what to review. However, Secret Santas can also do other things such as writing a poem, offering to extensively edit a work, or drawing a picture for the person they're assigned to. So if the person you're assigned to has no works or only one work to review, consider doing something else for them.

On July 7, sign up for Secret Santa. Log into YWS on July 13 or 14. You get PM. PM have name of person you do two reviews for. Someone else get PM with your name. They do two reviews for you. Everyone happy.
Do Secret Santas get a badge?
Yep! Every Secret Santa who successfully writes two reviews will get a special trophy in their profile.
What if my Secret Santa turns out to be a Secret Deadbeat?
Undoubtedly, some people will sign up and then do nothing. If your Secret Santa is one of these people, then a Secret Elf will fill in on July 15.
