It doesn't matter how big the band is, if you make any money from it at all the original band can totally sue you for damages. Some guys I know made a band, called it Retrospec, got sued by a band called Retrospect. Cost them like $15,000. And like I said playing good music > having a good name. Sort the first one out first.

Choosing a name for a band, if you ask me, is like choosing a tattoo. Something which will, or should, be with it forever. Seeing it's so, asking others to choose, based just on how good it sounds to them, is somewhat counter-productive. The name should have significance for you, mark the band with something important to all its members, and the name will eventually get cool in the eyes of people as they grow to love the songs you make and all that, don't fret.

You could always make the name original, right? Like for Delirium, you could change/add/remove some letters or something... Delyrium Deliriom Delirayum Daylierium
or you could put some punctuation in the word...

What I'm saying Lylas is the band's name isn't as important as the music the band makes. I'm a professional musician. My job is music. Do you know what my band is called? [my name]'s quartet. We don't need an interesting name, our music speaks for us.

Never mind the fact that some people creatively work in a different order or from a different place than others, but Lylas asked for people to vote on a name, not become band managers.

I was wondering the very same thing. Why some of the band names had the same ones like other bands. You can never know, some bands may have the same name. I think what Karzkin is said is right. I'm not offending anyone here, but we're just hopping for the best, Lylas.
As far as advice is concerned, like I told you before while we were chatting, you could go share the suggestions we all put in with your band members! Maybe they might have information they want to share too, and you guys together could pick it up, give it a thorough search and things like that.
AND AS HANNAH SAID, let's support Lylas on this. Its her decision, what so ever it is.
